Dr. Cho stared at me before she looked at Loki.
"Please." I said again with tears streaming down my face. Dr. Cho looked around her lab and pointed to a table.
"Let's get him up here." She told me and came around to help lift him up. "Ready?" She asked and grabbed his legs while I grabbed under Loki's arms. "One, two, three-" she grunted as she helped lift Loki onto the table with only one arm. "I have a portable version of the cradle somewhere..."
Dr. Cho looked around the lab while I stayed next to Loki's side and held his hand. She came back with a large black case and started setting up.
"Sammee?" I heard Steve's voice call through the comms. "Sammee, are you there?" He asked. I didn't have the emotional strength to deal with them right now, so I pulled down my hood and severed the connection.
"What can I do?" I asked Dr. Cho and wiped my tears.
"I need complete access to the wounds." She told me and pulled a computer screen closer.
Dr. Cho turned on the computer and connected it to the device that would heal Loki while I pulled out one of my blades and cut the rest of Loki's armor off. Seeing all of the damage done to him made me want to break down again. I quickly turned my head away, so I could stay in control.
"How-" I sniffled. "How long will this take?" I asked, forcing the tears not to fall.
"With all this damage? Hours." Dr. Cho told me. I closed my eyes and nodded, finally letting the tears free as I cried silently to myself.
I stayed next to Loki's side the entire time. I held his hand and watched as Dr. Cho hooked him up to an IV bag. He was still so cold, but, with the IV and the machine starting to repair his wounds, I could feel him start to get stronger.
With my adrenaline from the battle finally wearing off, I was able to feel all of my aches and pains. My muscles were strained and tense, especially my lower back. The muscles there were cramping badly. I felt like I'd been kicked by a very large horse.

It didn't occur to me that something was wrong until my stomach started to cramp too and I started to feel... wet...
I bit my lip so hard I tasted blood as I tried not to curl in on myself and cry hysterically. Loki had to pull through... I couldn't lose both of them.
"Are you ok?" Dr. Cho asked me. I took a shaky breath in and nodded.
"Ya." I squeaked out.
"Are you sure?" She asked. "Why don't you sit down? This is going to take at least another few hours."
"I'll sit once I know he'll make it through." I told her.
As the minutes ticked by, the cramping in my lower back and abdomen got worse, but I knew that there was nothing I could do now.
I had lost my child... I could not lose the love of my life as well.
Dr. Cho kept a close eye on Loki's vitals. His heart rate and breathing were slowly getting stronger. His skin was still ice cold, though.
"I don't know what the normal heart rate of an Asgardian god is." Dr. Cho mentioned.
"He's not Asgardian." I said in a monotone voice, but didn't explain any further.
"Do you... want me to call anyone for you?" She asked me.
I finally lifted my gaze from watching the slow rise and fall of Loki's chest to shake my head no. I then went right back to making sure he was still breathing.
"He's responding well." Dr. Cho assured me. "I really think you need someone here with you."
"They are on their way, doctor." A new voice joined. I immediately went into protection mode and pulled a gun. I pointed the gun at the intruder before I fully recognized who it was.
"Vision." I huffed and put the gun down. Vision hadn't reacted to it anyway. "How did you find us?" I asked.
"I do not know." Vision told me. "I can just... feel you."
"Well, don't." I said harshly.
"Ultron..." Dr. Cho's voice shook as she spoke. Vision casually turned to look at her. She thought Ultron had succeeded in uploading his consciousness to the cradle.
"I am not what Ultron was. I will bring you no harm." He assured her before turning back to me. "You are in distress." Vision stated and floated toward me.

"I don't need you here." I told him and held out my hand to keep him back. My fist was pressed to his chest as I stared daggers at him. He looked over me carefully with a confused expression.
"You... no longer carry life..." Vision said as he stared at my stomach.
I cracked then. My expression fell and I tried to force the tears back. My chest ached as I kept back sobs. When Vision finally looked back up at me, I fell apart. I dropped my head as my body shook with sobs.
"What can I do?" Vision asked.
"Leave..." I barely got out. "Please, just... leave." I told him and turned around to focus back on Loki.
"You need to be seen by a physician." Vision said. I didn't answer. I was too busy coming to terms with everything. "Doctor, would you please call Ms. Sammee an ambulance?"
"I-"
"You will do no such thing!" I interrupted Dr. Cho. "Your only job is making sure Loki stays alive!" I told her, just barely turning my head, but not turning around.
"Of course." Dr. Cho answered in an emotionless monotone voice.
It went quiet for a second. The only sound was the machine working on Loki's body.
"You shouldn't do that." Vision told me. I didn't answer him, or even acknowledge that I heard him. "Taking someone's choice away like that is... wrong."
"What the hell are you going on about, R-2?" I snapped at Vision.
"The doctor. You shouldn't take her choice away like that."
"Can you just leave already?" I spun around to face him again.
I probably looked like a mess. I still had dirt and soot on my face and my suit on from the fight. I had been crying nonstop for about two hours now. My face was probably red and puffy. And on top of all of that, I had a constant reminder that I was now childless in the form of painful contractions.
"It will not work on me." Vision cocked his head at me, almost like he was scolding me.
"Work on you?" I huffed and tried to wipe my tears away, but they were just replaced with new ones. "I can't-" I sniffled. "Just go." I hung my head, giving up. "...go..." I whispered.
"You... don't know what you're doing, do you?" Vision asked. I bit my lip and just turned away from him. I didn't have the strength to deal with it anymore. "Take a look at the doctor." Vision told me. I didn't want to, but my eyes betrayed me as I glanced at Dr. Cho. "Look into her eyes."
I did what he said and looked at her eyes. At first, I didn't notice anything, but then I saw it. Her irises had a strange purple glow.
"What-?" I muttered.
"You commanded her to keep Loki alive." Vision told me. "She is complying."
I still wasn't understanding what he was saying. So what if she was doing what I asked her to do?
"So?" I huffed and looked back down to Loki, now feeling more and more annoyed.
"She cannot go against what you have commanded of her." Vision said. I furrowed my brows and looked back to Dr. Cho. She didn't even acknowledge our conversation. "Doctor?" Vision called to get her attention, but still... nothing. "Dr. Cho?" He tried again. "Try." Vision told me. "Call to her."
I didn't want to, because if I did and she turned around, I wouldn't know how I'd feel... and that scared me. I knew that I should care about taking her choice away, but when it came to Loki... I decided to ignore Vision and take a seat to focus back on Loki.
"You're not going to release her?" Vision asked. "The doctor is already doing all that she can. Taking her choice away won't help your lover survive." He told me.
I knew he was right, but I was scared. A new power meant new complications, and I just couldn't handle it right now. It was too much to think about. Plus, if Vision was right, what was so wrong with keeping her focused on Loki?
