iris and conan laid in her bed, gilmore girls was faintly playing in the background with neither of the two paying much mind to it. they were far more absorbed in their conversation to even notice anything else.
"I've been waiting to ask, I even kept quiet near mace despite wanting to know so badly" conan began, slowly putting his phone down and taking iris' out of her hands. "stop why am i scared right now can you please just say it" the girl had no idea what her best friend was hinting at.
"don't even," he said with an eye roll. "I do follow your instagram you know, I've seen the comments from that fine ass man of yours" conan smirked as his best friend's cheeks turned the colour of apples. "spill everything now!"
"there's nothing going on with me and vinnie" iris said as she hid her red burning face in one of the many pillows surrounding the two. however, she was too slow, conan caught the smile that overcame her face. "we're not even friends or anything, we literally just started talking about a week ago" she added on, her voice muffled by the pillow she was still stuffing her face in.

"girl come on" conan pulled the pillow away from iris, forcing her to sit up and face him. "friends don't call each other sweetheart, and yes, i saw your comment on his post"
"it means nothing, he's just a flirt like that. he probably has a girlfriend anyways and even if he didn't me and him could never become anything" she couldn't even look conan as a queasy feeling overcame her stomach. what if her and vinnie never became more than friends? she slightly shook her head at the thought, they weren't even friedns anyways and she totally doesn't even like him like that
"babe he got your address so he could send you those disgusting donuts you like. trust me, he feels at least a small something for you" he reached over to where he threw their phones, but instead of grabbing his own, conan grabbed iris' "and i have the perfect idea to prove it"
