《Emerald》3

As the first few weeks went on, I saw more and more of Draco in the background.
Just.... looking.
He didn't say a word to me, he just stared.
Potions was the worst.
Draco said directly across from me, so he could look all class period.
Snape would wack him in the back of the head with his teaching notes to try to get him to pay attention.
Every time he did that I would blush.
It was hard to pay attention in class with him watching my every move.
One night, I woke up to my owl nudging my face.
I groaned as I sat up and rubbed my eyes.
"What, Rose?" I said to the owl.
She dropped something on my lap.
'Lumos' I told my wand.
It lit up, I saw a small paper tied around a button.
Too bad your color is red, you'd look great in green.
"The fuck does that mean? And what the fuck am I suppose to do with a button off of a shirt?" I asked the owl.
I set the note and button inside my night stand. I grabbed a small piece of paper and my quil.
I guess you'll have to buy me something green to wear then - c
I sighed the paper and handed it to the owl. She flew out the window and into the chilly night.
Whoever that was, I hope they get me something nice.
'Nox' I told my wand, and the light went out. I laid back down and drifted off to sleep.
...
Saturday, is my favorite day.
No classes, and parties at night. There's hasn't been many parties this year yet, with the Yule Ball coming up in a month, no one wants to get in trouble.
"Did you put your name in?" Hermione asked Harry, as we sat on the ground outside of the building.

"No, I'm not even old enough. Besides I wouldn't want to risk that." Harry said.
Harry's name ended up coming out of the goblet of fire.
He was chosen to participate in the triwizard games.
Harry, who always looked worried, happened to look more worried than normal.
I couldn't help but feel bad for him.
"I think I'm gonna go inside for a while. Go to the library, see if I can find anything to help." I patted Harry on the shoulder.
"Thanks." Harry said quietly.
The days seemed like they were getting colder as each one passed. Pretty soon the snow would fall.
I made my way through the long hallways of the old castle. They were empty and quiet. The sound of my footsteps echoed through the hallways.
I wondered when my mystery writer would write me back.
"Hey, Stewart." I heard a voice behind me. I snapped my head around to see Draco running from down the hallway.
Shit, shit, shit.
I quickened my footsteps.
"You can't get away from me that easily." Malfoy chuckled as he pulled the hat off my head.
"What do you want, Malfoy? And give me my hat back!" I demanded.
Draco dangled my hat just out of my reach.
"Mhh... I'll think about it. I kind of like this color. Charcoal gray, is it?" Malfoy licked his bottom lip as he examined the hat. He gave me a wicked smile before placing the cap on his head, "perfect fit too."
"You wish, my head is a lot smaller than that bobble head of yours. " I spat at him as I rolled my eyes, and crossed my arms over my chest.
I cocked an eyebrow at Malfoy, because I had won..... or so I thought.

He grabbed my hat off his head, and placed it back on mine.
Draco's touch was a lot softer than I expected.
His hands danced across my long auburn hair, before he placed them on his hips.
Draco shifted his weight to his left foot.
He smiled at the ground then looked up at me. Draco's eyes sparkled for a moment. His eyes looked happy, and dancing with life.
For a moment he didn't seem so cold.
"Depends on which head you're talking about." Malfoy spoke as he looked me up and down.
My eyes grew wide with surprise as my jaw dropped to the floor.
I was speechless.
"Don't sit with your mouth open like that, dear. Someone might take it as an invitation." Draco smirked as he winked at me.
My body had become hot and flustered.
What was this boy doing?
"Well- I- I...." I shuddered and trailed off. I quickly stormed off into the library.
I made my way near the restricted secton, and hid behind a book shelf.
I rested my fore head against the shelf.
Really, what was he doing?
He knew what he was doing.
Malfoy was playing mind games. Distracting me for what?
He is a slytherin, I'm a Gryffindor, we were rivals from the start.
And he's Malfoy.
The real question is... why?
A gentle tap to my shoulder, interrupted my thoughts. They had quickly spun me around to face them. My back was firmly pressed up against the books.
"I thought I told you already, you can't get away from me that easily." Malfoy whispered.
Draco was leaning over me against the bookshelf, his forearm was above my head as he supported himself with it.
I looked up at him through my upper eyelashes as I breathed heavily.
Malfoy bit his bottom lip as he looked down on me.
"Did I excite you?" Malfoy whispered softly in my ear.
Draco's warm breath glided across my neck.
He brushed away the hairs on my forehead away with his free hand.
The way his fingertips grazed my skin was so blissful.
I managed to knock my hat off while attempting to run my hands through my hair.
I managed to slowly shake my head 'no'.
My mind kept telling me yes.
Malfoy cocked his brow and smiled from the corners of his lips.
"Your heart is pulsing so rapidly, I can see it pump though your clothes."
