"You love me?" I asked stupidly.
It was dead silent so I turned around in his lap to face him. Billy's face was red, like he was blushing and a laugh came out before I could stop it.
"I love you too."
A small smile spread across his features before he leaned forward to give me a kiss. Which I ended up dodging because I was still mad.
He sighed before standing up completely knocking me out of his lap. But before I could protest he grabbed me up and slung me over his shoulder.
"Billy!" I screamed while laughing as he walked down the hallway. He threw me on the bed while caging me in with arms so I couldn't leave.
"Give me a kiss!" He whined while puckering his lips at me.
"Ew." I giggled while pushing his face away. "You have Chloe cooties don't touch me."
Realizing I still wasn't going to kiss him he grabbed my hip and pulled me down so that I was directly under him. His hand traced up my body until he reached my face where he moved my hair out of the way.
"I just wanted a kiss now look at where you are." He told me before placing a trail of kisses down my neck until he hit the top of my shirt. Not liking how it was in the way, he tore it off.
His hand kept reaching lower and lower until his fingers played with the waistband of my jeans. "Not talking all that shit any more are you?"

That night was the first night I wasn't terrified of Neil breaking down the door to get to Billy. We slept easily with the bedroom door open, no deadbolt on the other side of it sitting there threateningly.

Even when I woke up and he wasn't beside me, I wasn't scared for his safety.
When I finally got up I walked to the kitchen expecting to see Billy burning his fingers on breakfast. He was nowhere in sight but a note was visible. Walking up the counter to read it I noticed a small roadside flower beside it. I laughed knowing he must've been so proud of himself as he picked it up.
The note read
"Went to go talk to my old boss about a job. Don't do any damage while I'm gone
Love-
The hottest boy you've ever seen".
I laughed the whole time as I got ready for the day. Slipping on my shoes I made my way back to the kitchen counter to scoop up the house key and 20 dollar bill that had been left. It couldn't be that long of a walk to a supermarket and I had time to kill anyways.
Even just walking down the street here was amazing. The sky was blue and the tall palm trees were unlike anything I've ever seen before. The sidewalks were crowded and children screamed in delight as they played. All too soon I came across a homey looking supermarket. I stepped inside and began picking up essential food items I thought we'd need. Bending down to get a closer look at a label a young child ran into me, almost knocking me over. We both stopped in shock to look at each other before we both laughed.
"Hi buddy." I said staring at him with a smile. He had the most adorable blonde curly ringlets and small button nose. His little pink full lips curved into a smile as he shyly waved at me.
Before anything else could be said a worried looking mother swooped him up. "Christopher!" She yelled at him as he continued to giggle and look at me. "I'm sorry sometimes I'll be looking at something and he'll just run off without warning!" She said with a smile.

"Oh he was no bother!" I said smiling back down at him. He somehow reminded me of Billy. Mischievous and defiant to orders.
"Well that's good!" She said with a laugh as she set the kid back down.
"More?" The kid asked excitedly as he pointed towards the little carousel rides.
She sighed and tucked a piece of blonde hair behind her ear. "Yeah okay ten more minutes." She said handing the small toddler another quarter. He screamed in delight before toddling his way over.
She waved to me as she left and I waved back. Trying to ignore the pressing urge to follow her, I went back to grocery shopping.
────────────────────────────
After struggling to open the door I finally managed to carry all the groceries inside.
Billy must have heard me slam them down in the doorway just as I felt like the bag was going to rip through my arm because he walked up and easily took them from me. Kissing me on the forehead before sneakily trying to look inside the bags to see what I had gotten.
"Can I take you somewhere?" He asked as he helped put the groceries away.
"Where?" I replied as I reached up on my tiptoes to place something on the highest shelf. Getting tired of watching me struggle he easily tucked it into place as he walked past.
"The beach." Billy responded with a smile.
"Isn't the water cold up here?"
"No."
────────────────────────────
Billy had lied. The water was freezing.
"Oh shit!" I said after removing my foot from the cold water. "I don't wanna get in." I said turning around and heading back towards the warm sand.
He wasn't taking no for an answer and pulled my arm back so he could throw me in the water.
"I don't want to surf!" I screamed at him trying to conceal my laughter.
"Too bad." He said pushing me down into the water. When I sat up the wave had receded, leaving me to sit in damp sand baffled and freezing.
"How could you?" I asked him trying to brush my now wet and sandy hair off my face.
He leaned down laughing, offering me a hand to get up.
Wanting to get him back I let my face go blank and gave him a confused stare.
"Who are you?" I asked him.
I watched his whole body clench in terror as he yanked me up off the ground.
"I'm Billy? Billy Hargrove? Margaret stop."
"Who's Margaret?" I asked stupidly.
His mouth popped up and I couldn't contain myself any longer.
"Holy shit you should have seen the look on your face Billy!" I said laughing.
"That's not fucking funny we are going home." He picked up his stuff and began walking as I laughed behind him tugging on his arm.
"Okay okay I'm sorry!" I said wiping away tears of laughter. "Can we get cotton candy?" I asked looking over at a vendors stand that was along the boardwalk.
His eyes narrowed at me but allowed me to lead him over to it. Coincidentally I saw the same little boy from earlier. His little body only clad in shorts. Sand all over him and in his hair. His mom reached out to stop him as he began to run towards me.
I waved at her knowingly and she waved back before making eye contact with Billy. He was trailing along behind me as he looked up and saw the woman too. They both froze as they stared. Almost as if they knew each other. Billy's grip on my hand suddenly become deathly tight.
