"What?" I asked him confused.
"My mom said-"
"I'm not pregnant." I retorted as I rolled my eyes at him.
"We have been um.." He said trailing off awkwardly as he ran his hands through his hair.
Michelle popped into view under Billy's arm. "I thought you guys knew." She said uncomfortably.
"It's okay because I'm not." I said while reassuring them with a smile. As if right on cue I gagged and shoved past them both to the bathroom.
Leaning over the toilet miserably they both sat down with me. Michelle propped up on the counter holding back my hair and Billy trying to not start gagging himself as he leaned against the door frame.
"I just don't feel good." I mumbled weakly. They both gave each other a knowing glance.
"Can you both stop conspiring against me? I brought you both back togeth-" I started before stopping to close my eyes and focus on not throwing up again.
"I'm going to go get a pregnancy test?" Michelle questioned lightly while patting my back reassuringly.
Billy just nodded and switched places with her. He gently tucked hair behind my ears and held my hand while rubbing soft circles on it with his thumb.
As soon as the front door had clicked shut I ushered him out of the bathroom so I could shower and hopefully feel better.
By the time I came back out in fresh clothes both Michelle and Billy were awkwardly standing at the kitchen counter. Billy practically crammed the test into my hand anxiously before pleading with his eyes that I take it without argument.
Resisting the urge to make a big deal out of it I began walking back down the hall. It had never seemed so short before, but the walk was practically nothing when you didn't want to arrive so quickly at the bathroom doorway.

The procedure was simple; unwrap the stick, pee on it, and wait. Waiting was by far the hardest step. The sound of me anxiously tapping my nails against the counter suddenly sounded deafening until the five minute waiting period was finally up.
I grabbed for it anxiously and held it up to read the results. Two small lines had clearly appeared. I put it down, rubbed my eyes, and picked it up again.
Maybe the one line is for negative and the other is simply just a test line to make sure it works?
"BILLLYYY!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, suddenly feeling terrified.
He must have been waiting at the door because it only took him a second or two to open it and walk in. I pressed myself against the wall to regain both my balance and composure before handing him the test.
He eagerly grabbed at it and stared at the results. A sly grin broke out across his face before he eagerly shoved it in Michelle's face.
"I told you so. Mothers intuition." She said while tapping her forehead knowingly.
"We are having a baby!" Billy shouted in delight.
"W-what?" I asked confused and clearly not sharing the same delight.
Ignoring my question, he gently bent down in front of me and kissed my stomach lightly before standing back up to kiss my forehead. A big smile erupted across his face once again as he ran out of the bathroom.
I continued to brace myself against the wall in confusion. Billy Hargrove wanting a baby of his own?
He has absolutely lost it. We are only 18. My god the baby is going to be huge if it's half Billy.
"Sunshine! Why aren't you excited?" Billy asked as he grasped my shoulders with a now worried facial expression. I zoned back in so I could focus on him.

"We- we can't have a baby." I whispered to him horrified.
The excitement in his body language quickly disappeared. "What? Why not? I love you Margo and I want a baby with you." He said poking the side of my stomach gently.
I slid out from his grasp and exited the bathroom. Ignoring Michelle who was waiting at the doorstep I walked to the living room and stood there not knowing how to proceed.
They both quickly followed me.
"I'll let you both sort out your feelings." Michelle said knowingly. She grabbed up her belongings and made her way to the door but not before stopping in front of me.
"I know you are probably very conflicted with a lot of emotions. But I'm here to support you with whatever you need." She said with a small smile. I nodded back and waited until the door clicked shut behind her.
It was an awkward standoff between Billy and I. Me clutching my stomach worriedly and Billy with his arms crossed staring at my belly.
"It's not my decision because it's your body," Billy started slowly "but I want a family with you." He finished with his voice cracking.
"I didn't plan on getting rid of it." I snapped at him while hugging my own midsection protectively.
The panicked expression left his features as he made his way towards me. Billy gently scooped me up before sitting down on the couch. He had thrown me over his lap so that I was facing him in a straddled position. He then gently set his hands on my stomach and rubbed in circles with his thumbs.
"I really want a family with you." He whispered while still staring at my stomach.
"I want one with you too.. but Billy a baby right now?" I questioned as the nervousness bubbled back up.
"Why not?" He simply shrugged.
"I'm practically a child-"
"You are 18 and living away from home. Adult in my book."
"Billy- I- children are expensive we can barely afford what we have!"
"I just got a job. I'll get a second or third or fourth I don't care as long as you are resting at home with the baby or whatever you please."
