Episode 74

Mrs Meyers is seated in her office and before her is Mrs Hampton who was sitting down on a couch with her lawyer.

Mrs Hampton was going through the company's documents with her lawyer and was ready to sign it as soon as possible while Mrs Meyers watched on.

There was nothing she could do.

This was her last chance.

"Can you sign it already? We don't have much time left." Mrs Meyers said, her eyes constantly shifting to the door.

She was anxious about the fact that her daughter might barge in and destroy everything.

Veronica Hampton grabbed a pen from her bag and with a smirk on her lips, she sighed her name on the documents with the instructions of her lawyer.

After signing the documents it was passed to Mrs Meyers and she signed it as well. The company was officially a Hampton property.

"I just transferred $1 billion pounds to your account, hope you can manage it." Veronica said and chuckled. "You can start packing up your belongings now, the company needs a Hampton's touch in it."

Mrs Meyers stared at the alert on her phone screen and her hands shook.

The company was worth more.

Very much more.

But going bankrupt has reduced it's value and Veronica Hampton made use of this opportunity to buy it at a low rate.

A company that should have been sold in no lesser than $15 billion dollars was sold for $1 billion pounds instead.

What a shame.

Ace was sitting down on a couch inside the living room watching TV when his apartment door was unlocked and Chelsey walked in.

She walked towards him and kissed his lips before sitting down.

"Hey Babe." She said excitedly.

"Hey, what's going on?" Ace asked carefully. Ever since Catherine visited him two days ago he hasn't been himself.

How could she suddenly want him back when she left him first.

How could she make him feel like a cheater when she was standing there and having Anitra kiss her forehead when she was about to board a jet.

She didn't thought about how he would feel when she broke up with him and now it is time for him not to feel too.

To hell with Catherine Meyers and yes to a new future together with his soon-to-be wife.

With Chelsey he would take over the world.

He needed a strong woman beside him and not someone with a chicken feet.

"I heard that Mrs Hampton acquired a new company, isn't that worth celebrating?" Chelsey asked.

"Yes, it is worth celebrating." He responded and smiled at Chelsey.

In less than six days he would be married to her. He would make her his wife.

Why does he feel hesitant about it though?

Few hours later, after they had their dinner, Chelsey fell asleep.

Ace sat down on the couch beside the bed and was staring at her.

He pushed her hair away from her face and sighed.

Maybe she is the one.

Catherine's POV:

Mom have sold the company.

We have nothing left.

She has paid the bank what we owe them, now we only have to face uncle Alex in court.

I am happy that we're no longer in debt but I was said as well.

Life is so cruel to us.

Why can't we have it like everyone else?

Why does it have to be different with me!

Sometimes I wondered if I was a jinx because why on Earth is everything that is doing okay suddenly start doing bad when I come into the picture?

Why is that.

"Stop thinking hard about everything and be excited for a better tomorrow, girlfriend." Talia said and pass me the plate of potato chips she made.

I grabbed the plate from her and snorted.

Is there a better tomorrow?

"Have you tried talking to Liam?" I queried.

She shrugged and munch on her chips.

"He calls me 10 times everyday but I'm not ready to hear what he's got to say." She responded and i stared at her in total confusion.

Why would she think that that is a great idea?

"I just want him to miss me even more." She added.

Does Ace miss me?

Talia must have noticed my change in Express since she placed her hand on top of mine and squeezed it.

"Forget about him, Catherine. He doesn't want you anymore." She said and I shook my head.

No. She was wrong.

Ace still wants me.

He might hate me now but he can't deny the fact that he still desires me.

I went to school the next day for my final exam before summer break and the news of the Billionaire's son getting married was everywhere.

I couldn't stand it and had to hide at the basketball court.

I say down on a bench and covered my face with my palm.

I have to admit that it is getting too much for me to handle.

It is too much for me.

I have to do something before the wedding.

I have to try. I don't want to be a homewrecker. I don't want to harbor feelings for him after his wedding. I have to do what I can before he put that ring on her finger.

"Should I believe the fact that this is a coincidence?" A voice asked me.

I removed her hands from my face and looked up.

Ace.

"Ace?" I whispered. He scoffed and turned to leave when I grabbed hold of his wrist.

"Don't leave me again, don't turn your back on me." I begged him.

He turned to look at me and raised his eyebrows.

"I am not with you anymore, Catherine. Please move on."

Move on? The nerve of this man.

"How can I move on? How can I be okay when you're getting married to someone else! " I shouted loudly and before I knew what was happening his hand was wrapped around my neck, almost cutting off my breath.

He brought his face impossibly close to mine and sniffed me.

"You caused it."

I placed my hand on his chest and started rubbing it up and down.

My hands searching for his warmth.

I sneak my hand under his shirt and touched the front of his jeans trouser.

"He still wants me," i whispered.

Then I heard a click.

Someone photographed us together.

Oh no.

This is bad.

Very bad.
