《Alternate Worlds》Lost B3 Chapter 10

MacFarren gave Rob a middle level room in the Guild and free access to the Mess hall and food for his help with the invasion.
He settled in, found the room to be better than he hoped (it was next door to one of the Modern water closets that sported not only a toilet but a large basin type sink. So for the next two days he pretty much rested from his ordeal and learned about this world. Learned they have Coffee and a few other things (chicken sausage being one as he will not eat pork). He was chipper with the staff and treated everyone nicely, which made many of them suspicious as adventurers never do that to start with. None understood the term 'Retail' either. He suspects certain words of not translating properly as he learns the local language.
Morning of the 3rd day they get a visitor who once in the GMs Office, everyone hears Lots and Lots of screaming from a small evil gnome about his guild being ransacked and CLEANSED (less about the cleansed part cause he did not want people to know he had temples to gods of evil inside his place). But many of those mercenaries escaped and took HIS money with them.
MacFarren insist that the Duke and several of his personal troops escaped them in the warrens under the city. This is to cover his allies making off with them really. Rob happily ignores the evil thing, other than one time offering to Cleanse him spiritually. Maybe physically to, with Lightning. Nothing like Holy Lightning to make that evil little man run for his life. (Elsworth heard Rob collected some of the stolen loot from the soldiers he took out and tried to get him to part with it, that brought on threats when Rob refused and ended with the offer to Cleans him, physically and Spiritually.)
MacFarren was tickled by that and happy the evil one is no longer in his guild hall.
Evening of the 5th day, Rob has everything he needs to do his resurrection spell, so he set up a large empty room, layed out runes, and a large circle, placed the items he needed around it, the bodies inside it, and 4 hours later 9 formerly dead persons walked out of the room. Feeling a bit more spry as Rob made several of them younger and healthier than they had been the first time around. He figures if your getting a second chance at life, you should at least be healthy to start to. (They are all physically 20, mentally the same age they were when they died.)

MacFarren and Darren first learn Rob had even Done it when a Young Morgonon tried to get breakfast in the guilds mess hall. The cooks and servers did not recognize him, They almost did not recognize him and they had known him most of his adult life. Morgonon explained to them that the God who was in charge of their resurrection decided if they were getting a second chance at life, they should be young and healthy. So the entire group are healthier than they have ever been and physically 20 years old.
Rob was having a lie down as the spells used took a bit out of him after he raised them all, then cleaned up the chamber he used. Morgonon also told him Rob is not taking responcibility for them being brought back as MacFarren had paid for everything. So it's his fault and if they have any complaints take it up with him.
MacFarren is fine with that really as all 9 returned. They were also told what all MacFarren did and what he paid for. One of the priest in the group told Rob he could have charged more, Rob told him that was not the point. It's not about money, its about spreading hope and good will. Promoting the Good and all that stuff. The Priest could not argue with that especially as he himself was a recepent of that Good.
That night, Rob had slipped out of the Guild compound and searched the town. Found 9 worthy people and at midnight, in a private 'family only' cerimony brought these souls back from the dead. Now these ones were not civic leaders or such. They were people who took care of their families and nieghbors, who stood up for others and generally were the sort to promote the kind of world Rob wanted to live in. He used a kind of Karmic understanding to choose the first 9. He also let the people know, he could only do one such ritual one time a day. Between midnight and midnight as that is when His gods renewed his holy spells.
The word spreads very quickly after that about the foriegn priest who does Free resurrections and can bring back multiple persons at one time. But Only one time a day can the cerimony be done.

The Big churches don't like this one bit. They have had a strangle hold on this for centuries and they get petty about it. But in the short term there is little they can do but try and condemn this unknown holy man.
Robs responce about Them is they don't work for the Good, they work for thier Purse, given how much they charge for anything they do, from healing the sick and beyond. Rob just charges those whom recieve his blessings to go forth and help others as you can. Paying it forward. Given he tends to choose whom he returns (no evil need apply, unless his Gods say otherwise, they haven't, so he keeps right on going as he has been.)
Otherwise he has been helping with the reconstruction of the city and finding and freeing the missing holy men with Lady Patricia, who is of one of the High Holy persons in the church of Heavenly Light - they worship the spirit of Life and while not one of the big faiths, they do a lot of free health care, healings as needed and helping all who come to them. They get their financing from adventuring and donations. Rob donated several previously stolen items of their faith back to them. Stating they were adventuring spoils. (He Only told the Lady that he got them from the soldiers that had raided Greystones vaults, where a bunch of stuff had been hidden, all of it marked 'cursed' but all of those items were dedicated to the Gods of Good. He also told her of the temples to evil, inside that same guild, to gods of evil and destruction and how he nearly killed himself Cleansing those places to the point, that it will be a long while before evil will be able to use them. He left Archons of Good behind to guard them (the lower end Lords of Light actually.)
She suspected such but still was miffed about it.
Of the Baron and his family. The people decided he had proven useless and he found himself near homeless. As he had been appointed to that possition by the same Duke who was excile for treason, he has no power in court anymore and is very out of luck.
(The Moment anyone tries to elect Rob in to the post, he either leaves for an adventure, or tries to fob it off on someone more suited, Usually MacFarren, who having seen the Baronies financle books does not want the job either and Can't give the Barony to the Guild, much as he would like to. No one wants Elsworth anywhere near the Barony as they all know him To well around here. - He would charge taxes for everything including air, if he could.)
Elsworth said he would do it but retracted after Rob said ok, but Only after he had blessed the little man to the point he was cleansed INSIDE and Out! Elsworth has nightmares about Rob blessing him, they usually end with him being a kind and generous soul who enjoys helping others. The idea makes the evil one sick to his stomach.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things learned about Rob, Good mage, excellent holy person, lousy teacher. While he Knows all this stuff, as most of it was pretty much just Given to him, he is not good at teaching it to others. On the other hand there are things he is good at teaching, just not martial arts (beyond things he learned on his own, some excercises and that he knows very well and can teach, but a leader he is not, and you need to be a leader to be a good teacher.)
He helps with some of the technology. Some of which they have but never thought to use in certain ways that improve life for the people. Some they don't have but with his knowledge of magic, and understanding of natural laws, he is able to make some idea's actually happen. Magical versions of TV, Radio, Cell Phones, technomagical computers and so forth. - Rob owns the first Radio and TV providers for this world. Using the money he gained from that invasion and from stuff he got on his first adventures in this world.

Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Hugh Johnson was having a bad day. First there was the stupid long line to get into Comiket, then Truck-kun smashed him into paste, a lolii-goddess who punched him into another world, and finally, a wolf that decided to snack on him. And that was just the last 15 minutes. Now he needs to save Eternasy from the Seven Evil Alternate characters he created while playing Endless Fantasy before they destroy the world. Who knew that your actions in a game would have real-world consequences? Join Hugh as he takes on his first Evil Alt and journeys to the Lair of Daemon Wyrm. Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts will contain tropes familiar to readers of Japanese isekai light novels - a humorous progression fantasy with slice of life scenes, cute girls, burley men, dungeons, magic, and mayhem. Be warned that the MC is not a clueless weeb who has no idea how women or the world works. Expect this to read like hot garbage, and you will not be disappointed. I never expected to toss it into the Writeathon, but I have poor impulse control, so here we are.

Twoen
The struggle for an interesting game has been the story of my life for quite some time. Every game I find is either too easy, not interesting or too short. Luckily, my two brothers who match my level of skill, albeit in different areas, tend to spice things up. When I look at my older brother I have no idea how he gets anything done when he's such an idiot. Still it doesn't detract from my respect for him as a gamer, though maybe a little. When I look at my younger brother I marvel at the monster that my older brother and I created. Deadliness, craftiness and quiet, both in what he does and how he is. When it's just us three we tend to destory everything in our path. So normally we tend to compete rather than team. Although that isn't to say we're just good as individuals. When we work together our effectiveness multiplies rather than lowering. Well enough about us dorks. Anyway a new VR game came out, apparently in development for quite some time. Of course my older brother decided to drive out and buy three copies. What would this one be missing? Difficulty? Depth? Length? In any case I plan to reach the top before my brothers do. It was a competition after all. Twoen had all three things I normally yearn for in spades. Something I did not foresee. A keeper
