If you are intrested but don't want to read volume 1 fine by me a TLDR for the restless then. Once there was a boy called Sion, (no relation to league).
He went to war, and all was swell,
Until a fire rose from a spell,
The fire nearly burnt them all to cinders,
At the behest of great dragon's sisters,
One came to rescue those engulfed in flame,
And for her service she sufferred much o'the blame,
archers took aim,
And fired leaving her lame,
And so she fell from her great beast,
And Sion saw she looked to be deceased,
He paused and strong armed fate,
His life instead would suffer her weight,
He'd trade his life for hers...
He worked what little spells he knew,
Until the point he withdrew,
From life itself,
And so we arrive to the end of Volume 1. ( Rhymes are hard)
For those who hate poems and want to be caught up.
Sion was sent to war during a conscription wave. He was identified for the Offiers program which filled out front line units with fresh leadership. These are new kinds of officers whose ties are not related to nobility. Sion's background is that of a Kulak, or a wealthier peseant. I know real glamarous.
Alexa is the dragon rider. And the second main character. A run away, she fled her home from a young age and through a family aquintance was able to enter the program. These Dragons are the pre-modern equivelant of pick your favourite combat airframe that can also carry napalm canisters or white phosphorus.
Both characters are badly injured and close to death. Alexa's path takes her to a military hospital. Sion is left recuperating in his tent.
Neither knows each others name, or really remembers the event ;_;
Anyways, let's continue..

I Don't (August Alsina)
"Just tell me you love me, man." He said. I thought about and after what he said, my love for him died. There was no love. He wasn't the same man I fell in love with. He was different. He changed and I didn't love this new guy in front of me. "I can't." I said. He looked at me, tears in his eyes. "Don't do this, man. You love me, baybeh. I know you do."I bit my lip, trying hard not to cry in front of him. "August," I gulped, cursing myself because the tears I said I wouldn't shed, were shedding. "I don't love you anymore. I don't."
