《Apocalyptic Invasion》Chapter 9: Power?

Lisa returned to her senses as soon as she heard Alex's shout. She glanced at him and nodded, then ran inside to grab the bags.
Meanwhile, Alex went to check on his Hummer. There was a chance that these creatures might have damaged it. Then, the thing he dreaded happened. The wheels of the Hummer were pulled off.
"FUCK" He roared and went inside and started kicking repeatedly at the man's corpse.
"You fucker, asshole," he kept on kicking the body until he realized Lisa was standing beside him, clutching a bag and bat in her hands.
After he stared at Lisa for a moment, he took a deep breath and left the house.
When Lisa saw Alex going out of the house, she followed him. The moment she emerged from the house, she saw Alex's broken Hummer. After seeing the Hummer, she was shocked for a moment but recovered instantly.
The environment made her feel uncomfortable; there was an eerie silence, which was punctuated by a few growls of the undead.
"What should we do now?" she asked slowly as she approached him.
Turning around, Alex glanced at Lisa and said,
"Let's look around in the nearby house and stay there,", then he took his bag from her and put it on his back, and he started walking toward the nearby house. Lisa followed him.
This house looked similar to the one before, a two-story villa, but it was locked. He kicked on the door and broke the lock, but even after some time, no undead appeared.
After sighing in relief, he went inside. The house was fully furnished. Perhaps the owner was not in town when the apocalypse struck.
Lisa followed him inside as well. After finding a heavy table, Alex quickly blocked the door.
After that, he quickly checked around the house to make sure there were no other undead in the house, and fortunately, he didn't find any.

As he inhaled deeply, he slumped on the couch in the living room. Nevertheless, he was still surprised to discover that the man could control the zombies. Is it possible that people have gained some powers after the apocalypse?
A sudden thought struck his mind. He could see clearly in the night. Has his body also changed? Then he spotted Lisa, who was staring into his eyes on the other side of the couch.
As he tightened his grasp on her shoulders, he hurriedly inquired, "Did you find anything strange in your body?"
It startled her when Alex grabbed her shoulders, but she felt no pain. After hearing his question, she calmed down and answered, "I don't show but I can clearly see in the dark as if I have fresh eyes."
As Alex let go of her, he reflected. He and Lisa both have changes in their bodies. They can now see in the dark."
His eyes swept over Lisa as he questioned her, "Anything else?"
A thoughtful expression formed on her face before it suddenly changed to shock. "Now that you mentioned it, it is even more clear. When I killed...." Tears formed in her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away as she continued.
"The moment I hit my father with the bat, he was killed in one shot. I was so shocked that I didn't even realize it until now."
"Don't worry too much now. We'll discuss it in the morning. Take a rest, now," he said as he nodded at her.
"How about you?" she asked as she stood up.
"I'll be here, you can stay in that room," He said, pointing at a room on the ground floor.
As she walked into the room, she left the door ajar.

Alex's eyes swept across the wall clock, which noted 1 in the morning.
Closing his eyes, he lay back on the couch. Even though the undead were far away, he could pick out the sound of their growls.
After examining it, his body has become more sensitive to the surrounding environment. With one last sigh, he closed his eyes.

Meanwhile, a meeting was taking place in the capital. An approximately 10-person group sat around the table and discussed something.
A middle-aged man wearing military clothing casually sat at the table and asked, "What is the status of the base?".
The young man raised his arm and said, "General, it looks like we will capture it by morning."
That general nodded and asked, "Good, and how about the power users? Any new ones?"
"We have a report about a woman using Fire, but we will need to speak to her." That young man answered.
While mumbling to himself, the General nodded
"Fire huh"

Project G00
|Nanopunk |Crafting | Detailed Science and experiments | Inner thoughts | Bio-Robots | Evolution | Infodumps | Tell not Show | Insane to Sane | Slow and Detailed Pace | Puddle to Unknown | Artificial Intelligence | Trans-humanism | Bad Jokes | Moving 'Dungeon' Core | Hi! I am G00. I am a project made by some weirdo. Some may refer to me as the wobbly thing in the fridge or the slimy thing in the ceiling. Others might tell you about that sticky thing inside your nose. In the end, they called me the Seed of Life, yet didn’t tell me what I was supposed to become. Furthermore, it just happens that this stage was the most miserable place to reincarnate... Reincarnate as in… What the hell did I become?! (Whispers) You are a puddle. A puddle? (Whispers) Yes. C’mon little guy, say your lines! You’re live right now! Welcome to puddle-springs aka the afterlife of a puddle. CUT! Eh? Why?! No edition or photoshop needed?! We’re short on puddle-staff. The camera is broken, I am broken, and you are broken. Wait! How can a puddle be broken? You are not a puddle, you are frozen yogurt. NOOOOOOOOOO! Additional summary: Spoiler: Spoiler Humanity has finally made the second step towards space. Many developments were taking place at the time this happened. All of them accomplished thanks to nanotechnology. Inventions regarding Artificial Intelligence and nanorobotics created the opportunity, a way to terraform planets by sending nanorobots to space. Their orders? Colonizing and preparing the new worlds before humanity's arrival, aka terraforming. Meet G00, a weird agglomeration of nanomachines. A bit stupid, but it's not because he was like that. The little guy... 'He' is really broken. The hardest start of a story is when language is oddly misunderstood, when you know nothing of the place you just arrived; when your companion is a buggy system, and when you have to repair yourself with whatever trash you can scavenge from your surroundings. All of this while you fight your worst enemy: potatoes? What will you do in an unfamiliar circumstance where nothing is what it seems and where you won't even understand the boring ramblings of a confused main character? Well, patience will... probably have a reward? Additional tags and disclaimers: Read before starting the story: Harem: Not included for the moment, depends on characters added, votes by readers, and things that happen on the go. Magic: Far away chapters maybe... as part of high level or non-understandable things by science. Slice of life: Probably some parts will include it. Disclaimer #1: Crazy amount of content about high-tech info-dumps, slow pace, starts with biology and nanotechnology. Might have some weird jokes and puns. Game bugs are also possible. Disclaimer #2: No puddles were harmed during the making of this story. No character is real, no real puddle was used as part of the cast. Character is stupid at the start on purpose but he will get beta and beta. All written content follows a logical approach no matter how stupid it appears to be, maybe… Because it’s just a raccoon splashing some cotton-candy over a puddle after it was thrown. Yup, a bully raccoon with rabies or so it seems.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.
