As he travels, day by day, month by month, in an endless desert, where there seems to be no end in sight, loosing his sense of time, he continues...
To find a place to rest. In this cold and cruel world, that is his only wish, his conviction.
He is at his last minutes... The legends proved to be legends.
He yells at the sky, as if cursing those that damned his fate to be as such, and then laughts, laughs at his own foolish attempts to change it.
Minutes, no.. Seconds before he dies he feels the earth trembling, and as the light fades from his eyes, he pushes himself to see in front of him.
The city of legends. His final resting place, he watches, and before letting his final breath, he cries. He cries as though he had never before done.
In the last seconds of his life, he looks straight at the weird creature, carrying the city of legends, and then laughs.
His laugh different from when he was mocking himself.
From his back nothing is shown to be different as he stands straight. With one foot in front, as though, even after death he tries to defy his fate, and reach the city.

As though, that is his resting place. He is stuck in the pose of a man traveling forward, never to ever again take another step, never to reach the city.
A step behind, a step too far, a distance he can never cross.
