《Broken》chapter 4.4 Morrie

"I don't mind at all" Said Lucius.
Well I do...
Morrie had seen Hex feed herself many times before and wondered why she needed help now. He sat next to her and got a spoon full of food. Morrie noticed something dark move on Lucius. He placed the spoon just half way in her mouth. Most of the chocolate fudge fell off the spoon.
"Don't be shy, put it all the way in" Said Hex tilting her sunglasses. Her eyelids were closed as always. Athena had the eyes of death and placed her hand on Hex's shoulder.
She cleared her throat "What did I say about that kind of thing"
Hex seemed to pale "Sorry" she said in a sheepish tone.
"Open wide" Said Lucius.
Morrie was at wits end trying to understand who he liked.
Morrie and Aurora took a spoon full of food. After he gave Hex a spoon full he took a bite of his own food. He moaned and smiled slightly when he ate. Morrie and Aurora spit out their food.
What was that?!
"That sounds familiar" Said Hex leaning against him.
He seemed confused until Athena rolled her eyes and explained.
"You kinda moaned"
"Sorry the food was good" Said Lucius.
Morrie heard it but wanted to know what kind of noise it was. Was it the same kind that would be made when someone asked you to do something you didn't want to?
I wonder if he'll do it again? No hurt in asking.
"Can you do it again?" She pulled out her notepad
Everyone had a odd facial expression.
"Why?" Asked Lucius.
"Research" She replied.
"I could help" Said Hex.
"That you could" Said Lucius with smooth alluring tone.
Oh come on! She get to flirt with him too! Wait… why should I care?
It was very much unlike him to do anything of that sort. Hex turned bright red and turned away from Lucius.
"I'm supposed to be the one making you uncomfortable"
He seemed to have fun turning the tables on her.
He hugged her from behind "You're cute when you're mad. Actually you're cute when you are you. Just kidding".
She turned bright red and said "You're just like every other guy"
Morrie found it funny how easy she was made a sheep by another wolf.
Not such a bad girl are you.
"That was too easy, I expected you of all people be more difficult to get a reaction from" Said Lucius getting back to his food.
Morrie wanted to know what her own limit was but didn't want to ask.
"How about you Aurora, you have had plenty of boyfriends right? How hard is it to make you blush?" Said Lucius.
She was already blushing.

Morrie felt a hint of jealousy but it was more anger than anything.
"I've never had a boyfriend before" Said Aurora in a shy tone. Her hand was covering part of her face.
"Lucius do you mind waiting over there for a moment" Said Athena.
Lucius nodded and walked away. Athena stood up and took a deep breath.
"Let me make sure you all understand, my brother has a very weak heart. In fact it's bad enough that he can't do any physical activities without placing himself at great risk. With lack of a better word even getting excited could kill him. So I'm sorry if I seem a little overprotective. I don't want him to die just because some girl wanted to have fun" Her eyes were deep pools of sadness.
I wonder if I could drown in them?
Morrie shook her head to clear such a bizarre thought.
Morrie knew his heart was weak but she never knew just how weak. The thought that he could die from just a kiss was interesting.
"Athena" Said Aurora with a shaking voice.
"Yes?" Said Athena with a hint of confusion.
"Would you mind if I asked Lucius out?" Said Aurora.
Everyone seemed confused. Morrie didn't believe what she was hearing.
"I want to to ask him out but I want to get to know him first. I know when the moment comes I won't exactly be thinking about it so I wanted to ask you now" Said Aurora.
Wait, if he goes out with her I'll get less time to study him. I need him.
"I met him first, I think I should be able to ask him first" Said Morrie.
"I make the rules not you" Said Athena.
Morrie didn't dare challenge her after what she saw her do to Nero.
"Well may I ask him this week?" Said Morrie.
She wanted all the time possible to be able to study him.
"Fine" Said Athena.
"Why do you control his life it's not like he can't make his own decisions he smart after all" Said Allison.
"He's smart but he's not that good with people. And making decisions is something he is not very good at" Said Athena.
"Like what?" Said Aurora.
"The problem with him is that he can't tell right from wrong. He doesn't even understand why it's wrong to kill. He won't take your life into consideration. He would let you die for nothing" Said Athena.
The air felt thick and cold. Morrie felt her heart drop.
"Sup bitches!" Said a girl tossing Lucius on the table.
His body was covered in deep wounds. The only thing it didn't cut was the tattoos. He lay still.
"The only bitch here is you" Hex retorted

If she could see what lay inches from her face she would not have been so calm. Athena somehow lifted a tree and tossed it at the girl. The tree exploded into small pale butterflies.
"That's no way to treat a Lord" Said the girl.
Morrie felt like she was going crazy. She had just watched her half dead best friend tossed on a table by a sociopath.
"I'll kill you!" Said Athena sprinting at her.
The girl smiled and side stepped when Athena attempted to punch her. Athena spun in a cartwheel and hit her with her right foot. The girl fell and quickly got back up.
"You little who-"
She was stopped by Athena's fist as the force of the hit lifted her off the floor. It looked like a scene straight out of a movie.
She got up "You know that doesn't hurt me"
"What did you do to him!?" Yelled Athena.
"Nothing yet, but he will be fine. The weapon I used can't kill" Said the girl.
She was short with brown hair and brown eyes.
"I don't care" Said Athena.
The sound of a gunshot hit the air.
"Bitch" Raven was holding a massive gun. The girl was on the floor yelling about how much it hurt.
"Why did you do that!" Yelled the girl.
Morrie had not noticed until she turned to look at Raven that Aurora was treating Lucius's wounds.
"Because you hurt my future husband!" Said Raven.
She was still aiming the gun at the girl.
"Just saying, you all sound super stupid" Hex was still eating her food.
She seemed to be having a good time. Everyone else was looking at the odd girl. Morrie picked up a cup and tossed it at the girl's face to help. Morrie didn't know what else to do but tried.
"Just tell me what the book says and I will leave you alone for a while" Said the girl.
"It probably says you're a bitch" Hex had moved onto a chocolate ice cream.
"Shut your mouth!" Said the girl.
"Make me, you hoe!" Said Hex gesturing as to say "fight me"
Raven shot her again and she yelled
"Will you stop doing that!?"
Morrie knew this girl was not normal but everything about her was. Her voice to her appearance. Nothing seemed at all odd.
"Hey" Said Lucius standing up.
"Are you ready to tell me what the book says?" Said the girl.
"Yes but come close. I imagine you wouldn't want anyone else to hear" Said Lucius shaking slightly.
His body was on the brink. He was far weaker than most cared to understand. The only reason he lived was because of what was inside the pills. It was the only reason he made it past the first month of life.
"You walk over here" Said the girl.
He hobbled over slowly.
"What is he doing?" Morrie whispered to Athena
"I don't know" Said Athena.
Morrie could see the girl slowly lean closer to him. He kissed her cheek and she pushed him. She knocked him over.
"You lose" Said Lucius.
"You, you you cheated" Said the girl.
"I know you can't use your power when you're flustered. You don’t have the control to do it do you"
"You little idiot why are you so dumb!" Said the girl.
"Sorry but you weren't invited" Said Lucius standing up.
Morrie watched him walk over to her.
"Would you mind if I used that?" Said Lucius looking at a spoon.
Morrie handed him a spoon and he took a spoon full of chocolate fudge.
He walked over to the girl "Say ahhhh"
"I don't like you!" Said the girl.
"I didn't ask"
Morrie liked his response. The girl opened her mouth and ate the fudge.
"You're invited now just don't make my sister mad or hurt anyone" He was looking into her eyes.
Morrie had no idea what was going on. This girl had almost killed him and now he was feeding her.
"Why are you being nice to me?" Said the girl.
"Because my sister wanted me to work on my people skills" Said Lucius.
He walked back to table and sat down. He started eating. Morrie just went with it and sat down. He had sat down across the table from Aurora. Morrie pretended to be comfortable with the situation and everyone else soon joined in.
"So what's your name?" Asked Aurora.
"Just call me Azrin" Said the girl.
"Where you from?" Said Morrie.
She can’t be human.
"Well, I was raised on Golovin but I was born in the citadel of the Ark of Madness" replied the girl.
Morrie wondered if she was crazy but wanted to ask what the citadel was.
"What is the citadel?" Said Morrie.
"Well it's the birthplace of an Ark" Said the girl.
"What's an Ark"
"Do you people know nothing? How have you people survived?" Said Azrin.
"Azrin please be nice" Said Lucius.
"You can't tell me what to do!" Said Azrin.
He grabbed her hands "Please for me?"
His eyes seemed so sad and needing of some light.
She turned away from him "Fine"
Her face was slightly red.
They spend an hour talking and eating. They were all driven home and Morrie thought the day was rather interesting. She like being with Lucius but hoped he didn't like her too much.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com. This piece of work, after all, is only a first draft and by no means an end product by an amateur (beginner) writer. Mistakes are bound to happen. With that said, I will strive to improve as I write. Feel free to point out errors and inconsistencies as you read. I thank you for your time. Finally, I pledge to not rewrite this novel until the first draft is completed.
