《Broken》chapter 15.3 Aurora

“Do you mean you want to take all of this” Said Hex as he ran her hands down her divine form “to the carnival”.
“I don't know how to respond” Uttered Lucius.
“Just don't, it's better that way” Said Aurora.
“Did I say something wrong? Did I make you jealous” Said Hex facing Aurora as she blew a kiss.
“We should get going” Said Lucius.
“Where to?” Asked Hex walking to Lucius side.
She wrapped her arm around his and leaned against him.
“I was going to take Aurora to a so called fancy restaurant but we can all go” Said Lucius.
As they walked Allison walked out of thin air.
“Hey Lucius, I've missed you” Said Allison.
She looked just as beautiful as ever.
“Is everyone hiding behind the corner or something?” Said Aurora.
“Nope” Said Azrin sitting atop Lucius’ shoulders. A water bottle flew out of nowhere and smacked Azrin’s face.
“That's my spot!” Yelled Penelope walking besides Scarlet.
Azrin almost hit the ground but Lucius had caught her foot. He slowly lowered her to the ground. Aurora could recall the first time they meet. She was far more violent then.
“So let's all go” Said Aurora.
They managed to find everyone as they walked. Even Morrie.
“So we're all going on a date” Said Raven.
“No, Lucius and I are going on a date. You're just joining us” Said Aurora.
Aurora looked at Lucius and saw something dark move beneath his shirt. She hadn't been the only one because Morrie pulled his shirt up the next thing she knew.
“Is something wrong?” Asked Lucius.
“I saw something move under your shirt. And when did you get a tattoo on your chest?” Asked Morrie looking directly into his eyes.
“I'm sorry I have to go, but please go ahead and go to this location and ask for our reservation” Said Lucius as he handed her a note walked away.
Aurora looked at the paper but no longer felt like eating. They all went anyway. The restaurant was quite possibly the most expensive looking place on Mars. Olympus was the name of the beautifully decorated location. Aurora handed the paper to one of the people waiting at the door.

“Pleased to meet the famed Lucius’s girlfriend. My name is Keith, please follow me.”
They walked up the grand halls that had marvel statues and ascended the stairs to their table. Several cooks were preparing their meals as they took their seats.
“Good morning lady Aurora, my name is Jekel. I see that Lucius is not here is it right to assume that he will not be joining us this evening” He spoke in a thick low voice.
“Yes?” Replied Aurora.
Everything in the room seemed expensive. The plates had gold engravings. The chairs were made of a single solid piece of wood topped with otter fur. A cruel seat but none the less soft. The chandeliers were made of blue crystals and the floor was made of what looked like stars.
“It's pretty dark here” Said Hex.
“Would you like us to brighten the room?” Asked Jekel.
“She's blind” Said Azrin.
“A joker I see,” Said Jekel “no pun intended”.
Aurora had her mind focused on Lucius. Why had he abandoned them. Why was he so concerned about his tattoos. Aurora floated through the dinner and walked back to check on Lucius. She had everyone else alongside her. Athena was sitting on the roof of the house when they arrived. Nero was sitting besides her.
“Hey” Said Athena with a smile.
She then jumped down. Nero walked back into the house and came out.
“Where's Lucius?” Asked Athena.
“I thought he was here” Said Aurora as everyone began to murmur.
He had not come home.
“You're joking right?” Replied Aurora.
“I'll call him” Said Nero.
Aurora could hear the phone ring. It was coming from her room.
Athena ran into the house and yelled “He left his phone!”
“We should go out and look for him” Said Nero.
Aurora felt worried. He hadn't told her he was going anywhere. It was not like him to not tell her where he planned on going. Evelynn was out buying medicine for Lucius. Aurora had a few ideas as to where he may be. Mars was a small enough world. They looked at every location they believed he may be and found absolutely nothing. Aurora could not think of any place he may be hiding.

“Maybe he just got lost” Said Scarlet.
“He can't, he always knows where he is” Said Athena.
Aurora could feel herself become more and more nervous. When it became late they went home. Aurora couldn't sleep. She had him on her mind. What if he had gotten lost or hurt.
“Aurora!” Said voice.
She walked to her window and looked down the ground. Lucius was standing in her garden. He was missing his shirt and something seemed off about his voice.
“I'm sorry, it's not you it's me. I'm a terrible person and I found someone else” Said Lucius.
Aurora didn't respond. She wanted to cry and yell and curse but didn't.
“I'm sorry but I love her not you. I'm sorry if I miss lead you. I want you to know I don’t love you. I never cared about you” He proclaimed.
Aurora ran to her bed and began to cry. She woke in the morning with red dry eyes. She was hoping it had been a bad dream. She got out of bed and made breakfast. She wondered what she had done to make him lose his love for her. And who was the girl the he loved more. Could it be Hex? Perhaps Scarlet. Even Morrie?
The following day lacked his presence. She didn't want to go anywhere. She was angry at herself for believing someone as wonderful as him could truly love her. She knew she shouldn't have cared so much about the relationship but she did. She walked to Hex’s home and knocked at the door. Hex opened the door. She looked mad for the first time in a long time.
“Is something wrong?” Asked Aurora.
“Lucius” Said Hex in a choked voice.
She seemed like she was about to cry.
“What did he do?” Asked Aurora.
They walked in and sat down.
“He just said a lot of hurtful things. I don't want to get into the details but he made me cry” Said Hex.
“Why is he being such an ass” Said Aurora.
“Let's go get Scarlet” Hex doing her best not to cry.
They walked out and marched to Scarlet home. When they arrived they could see Scarlet sitting at her doorstep. Tears had recently graced her face.
“Scarlet, are you okay?” Asked Aurora.
“No, I'm really not,” Said Scarlet. “Why would he say all that”.
Tears began to fall down her face. Aurora hugged Scarlett as she cried.
When enough time passed Aurora asked “What did he say to you?”
“He called me worthless” Said Scarlet.
Hex cringed. Hex didn't want to think about what he could have said to Scarlet considering what he had said to her. Telling her he never cared about her and that he could never love a blind girl, a cripple. He told her she was stupid for believing he was telling the truth when he called her beautiful. He hurt her more than anything ever had.
Aurora looked at Scarlet.
“I don't want to talk about what he said” She whispered.
“Should we check up on Morrie?” Asked Hex.
“We really should” Said Aurora.
They walked all the way to Morrie's home. When they knocked on the door two large men opened the door.
“Are you here to visit Morrie?” Asked one of the men.
“Yes” Replied Aurora.
They looked at each other and said “Watch your step”.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
