《State of Flow》Chapter 15

Passing through the gate we find ourselves in a much larger area, this room had proper boss room energy and it seems Legos agreed. “Well hell might as well had a neon sign saying 'insert boss here'. Right then gather around and protect me I am not trying to lose my quest rewards because yall were gawking too long.” After a moment to catch our breath after that bit, we all form up and start observing with proper care. Looking around I note a large headstone opposite from where we entered with the rest of the arena being a relatively small circle with little in the way of obstacles, just a few shrubs around the edges which seem more aesthetic than anything however I wont go around discounting them I have a sneaking suspicious that they will play some part in the fight itself. “It looks like they are gonna give us as much time as we want to gawk before the boss spawns. I guess we can use this time to plot a bit. Group up and hit it till it dies?” Drake observed before finishing with what I hope was a joke. After a bit of laughs we begin to strategize our plan and prepare for the fight. After settling on a plan we step forward to the middle of the room and prepare for the fight. Once we step into the center of the room the ground begins to and the headstone on the other end of the room cracks in half as dirt begins to part from in front of it, moments later a hand pierces the ground and rises into the air and grips the headstone. After this the arm uses the leverage to pull the rest of his body out, revealing a large bald man with unfocused eyes. After standing up he throws an arm back into the ground and rips a large shovel which he then swings around before coming to a stop on his shoulder. He took a lumbering step forward before the rest of us explode into movement and charge him. With May at the front with Drake beside her to support her if he hits harder than he looks like he should. I'm running around the side to pepper him with daggers and knives Legos is running opposite me to match my plan with Auspious sitting in the back ready to support. Once May gets within shovel distance of Dampé his expressionless eyes focus on her and his arm starts to swing forward languidly, judging by speed alone it should not even hurt, however with skills involved who knows how hard he will hit. With a *thud* the shovel collides with her shield and it feels like there is a palpable pause before May got fucking flung backwards right into Drake knocking them both over, while this was happening me and Legos were not sitting idle by he launched an arrow, while I threw both daggers I had in hand. I am using the unenchanted equipment for this phase so that I can save the good stuff for the end when it has resistance to my normal attacks. Both of our projectiles manage to land, however due to the way in which he swung my daggers only managed to land in his right arm above the elbow and I couldn't see where Legos' landed however going by the look on his face no where lethal. Now that it had Drake and May on the ground he wound to go for another swing, seeing that unless they both managed to dodge an attack with that kind of power while they were on the ground might just one shot them. Realizing this I run forward pulling out two more daggers and aimed for just behind his shoulder hoping to either impair him, make him miss, or at the very least just divert his attention to me rather than the two on the ground. Swinging my two daggers as hard as I could muster they only just barely manage to break the skin and pushing any further felt like an impossible task, however it seems like I still managed to succeed in my goal of preventing it from taking out my team mates. Ripping my daggers out while propping a foot against the ground I pushed off into a backwards tumble. Sneaking a glance while moving I see Drake and May managed to get up, good. “Change of plan guys considering how powerful his hits are just get any hits in you can while dodging, he is slow so it should be too hard to whittle him down!” Drake shouted after getting to his feet. Turning my focus back on the thing in front of me I start to formulate a plan of attack. Knowing that his muscles are almost impossible to pierce with just my skills I will have to increase the power of my skills to be able to break through his defenses I think my best best it utilizing Flow state, however that is not as simple as simply activating the skill I'll have to try and get in the zone and that will probably be hard if I am just throwing daggers from out of range so I will have to get close and personal dodging attack directed at me if I want this to work. I guess a saving grace is that the skill also increase my dodging proficiency so there is that. I have a feeling that trying to trigger the skill manually wont work super well, but nothing ventured nothing gained, and seeing as how he has righted himself and is lumbering in my direction there is no greater time than now to try dumb shit.

Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Just a little different, just a little unique. Swamy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Thanks @DameCarnelian for the cover.
