"Mia! We have to hurry! The guards are closin..Argh!!"

"Huff! Huff! I'm tryingggg..."

Before leaving, Theo found out that the human's girls name was Mia and the small demi child was nameless. As they were making their way into the inner part of the forest, the guards from the Lamen's household discovered that their master was brutally murdered, and immediately issued out a manhunt for the murderer.

Within a short period of time, the news of the death of Vonin spread like wild fire and guilds started to accept the mission of searching for the killer. The servants in the Lamen's household never liked Theo and when they realised that Theo was nowhere to be found, they took the opportunity to put the blame on Theo by providing information of Theo in hope to be rewarded handsomely.

Hence, Theo's potrait was placed on the bounty list and the prize money for the head of Theo even attracted several underground organizations and formidable assasin's guild. One has to know that Theo killed a member of the nobles, where the nobles possess one of the highest authority in the kingdom.

In a matter of time, hundreds of people were hunting for Theo and some were already in the forest that Theo was heading to, although they had no idea where Theo was and could only rely on their intelligence and luck.

Eventually they spotted Theo and his crew where they pertinaciously chased after Theo, which caused Theo and the girl to fall into a slight opening just below the root of a tree.

Several moments later, Theo sat up from the rough stone floor with a grunt. Despite the darkness surrounding him, he could vaguely made out the details of his surroundings. The opening from which he fell through was high above him and the moonlight shone through the gap, illuminating the cave with a transient glow. He could hear the flow of water coming from the opposite side of the cave which sounded like a waterfall.

When he heard breathing coming from his arms, he glanced at the demi child in his arms. She was in Theo's arms since the start of the escape and he cushioned her fall, which explains why she only suffered minor injuries.

"Arghh..." Mia sounded out as she tried to stand up and eventhough her fall was cushioned by the twigs and branches along the way down, her frail body still could not handle the impact and immediately fell onto her knees.

"Are you okay? Don't try to stand up yet. I'll go take a look in this cave to make sure it's safe," Theo comforted Mia as he got ready to scout the cave. After carefully placing the demi child on top of several leaves, Theo unsteadily got up and for a quick moment, he felt his vision darkened but it was gone in a flash.

'My Health!!! Ugh It must due to the fall...I can't take anymore damage...and arghh fractured bones sounds horrible enough' As Theo desparingly thought to himself, he decided to scout the cave by sticking to the shadows to avoid unwanted attention. As Theo made his way around the rough edges of the cave, he noticed a tree not far away from him. 'A tree in a cave?! I got to check it out.'

After surveying his surroundings and once he was clear that there were no traps or imminent dangers, he crouched down and silenly succuried towards the tree.

As Theo reached the tree, he noticed that it was 2 times taller than himself and carvings of lightning strikes were etched on its silver coloured leaves; which glistered enthralling under the pale moonlight. Upon closer inspection, Theo discovered that it bore fruits near the inner branches and were covered by the leaves.

Unknowingly, saliva started to form in Theo's mouth and his stomach growled, yearning for food. After mcuh hesistation, Theo quickly pluck the fruit from the branches and almost immediately, a silver coloured light flashed from the roots of the tree, which then steadily moved up to the top and in no time, another fruit bore in its place.

After recovering from his shock and ensuring that nothing had changed, he took a bite out of the enticing fruit and instantly, he felt a wave of tinge of electricity flowing through him and he could sense his surroundings-drips of water in the distance and the heavy breathing from the girls.

'Woahhh! I should take 2 of the fruits for the girls too, it would definately help them to defend themselves.' After taking 2 more fruits, Theo went further towards the source of the waterfall, and discovered that the waterfall is covering large opening of the cave and at the base of the waterfall, there was a large pond which was slightly glowing from its depths.

Theo took no notice of the glow and painfully cupped his hands to scoop up the water and brought it towards his mouth. As the water flow pass his throat, it relishes the burning sensation at the back of his throat. At this instance, Theo felt the pain due to the fractured bones were and he felt better than ever.

Theo was excited yet bewildered by the sudden change in his body and thus, he brought out his status.

"AHHHH!!" Theo couldn't help but exclaimed from shock. 'This...this...I have to get some of these for the girls too' Using his wit, Theo found a boulder-roughly the size of his fist and tried sensing the lightning within him. Although no one had ever taught him magic, he often read it up in his own world and thus, with a little bit of alteration, Theo imagined lightning flowing through through his fists.

Bzzz...bzzz..zuackk! As the silver-coloured lightning charges up in his fist, the air surronding it started to get hotter. Without wasting a second, Theo repeatedly punched the slab of stone, and eventualy, carved out a small bowl. As Theo stared at his handiwork in amazement, the lightning suddenly faded and his mana showed 0/21.

Although the damage it dealt was above average, the consumption rate is simply too high and this, woke Theo up from the amazement of his craft.

'I need to get stronger...much stronger. For revenge.' Theo sprinted back to the girls as he hugged the fruits and the bowl of water; worried about their safety and health.

As Theo reached the girls, he could see the Mia hugging the weeping demi child.

Once Theo realised that the demi child thought that he left them, Theo light patted her on the head and softly said,"Silly girl. I said I'm going to protect you! Here eat up, it helps with your injuries."

The demi child looked up at Theo with her pearl-like eyes while Theo cleaned her tear-glistened face. After tidying her up, Theo fed the demi child as she was too weak to even lift up her hands. Theo couldn't help but think back to his previous life, which caused him to feel emotional.

After steadying himself, Theo gave the remaining fruits and water to Mia which she silently accepted. From time to time, she would glance at Theo with her cold gaze which caused Theo to question her.

After a few seconds of silence, she looked at Theo and murmerred,"Why did you save us? What are you going to do with us?"

"Hmm...I don't really have an answer but I guess I just do what is right? I can't bear to see people suffer like that...especially children. And I'm not gonna do anything to you."

After Mia got her answer, she stopped asking anymore questions and quietly ate her fruit, while Theo continued to feed the demi child, and would occasionally tell jokes to lighten up the mood.
