《Broken Emperor》Chapter 33

The sounds around them gradually faded, as Diana made way towards him.
Their eyes didn't leave each other.
She stared deeply at his eyes.
The world around them stopped.
She could hear, chants of men with deep voice, singing his name. It was like a prayer, yet also a call for war, a slow song that held her by the heart.
Diana didn't halt, but kept walking towards him.
Visions started appearing in her mind.
She saw Cayn in the middle of armies.
Spears and swords piercing his body, yet he still swung taking the lives of millions.
She saw Cayn screaming as he held a person's head with a crown, a ruler.
Other visions followed, Fighting cosmic beings, mythical creatures that could move entire realms with a swing of their wings.
Cayn fighting for months and years, without rest.
She kept walking, staring at his cold eyes that told her the stories.
The visions continued. Massacres, where Cayn was never put on his knees ever again even when she saw moments where his leg was cut off in one of those visions.
He was like a madman, bloothursty. She understood why no one could stand by his side on the battlefield.
Once his eyes raged, he didn't know ally from foe.
Diana, kept walking.
The visions increased, the wars continued.
A sword almost cut Cayn's neck in half. The man he fought couldn't take it out nor slash all the way with it.
Cayn had swords struck in his back and thighs.
He gritted his teeth, flexing his muscles.
No matter what the man did Cayn's neck muscles held the sword and didn't let go.
Until Cayn, roared with pain as he moved his broken hand striking down the man, cutting him diagonally.
Another one came, piercing Cayn with a spear from the back. The force of the blow destroyed galaxies.
Two other man came from the sides. Cayn guarded, but both his arms were pierced.

Shedding blood would be too little of a description.
His eyes didn't flinch. Staring at all of them hungrily.
His muscles once again held their weapons.
As they let go of them trying not falling for their ally's mistake, Cayn took the spear from his chest, with a scream installing goosebumps to their spines. He swung a 360 at an immense speed. They were all cut.
Cayn's eyes were bloody. His whole body screamed and splashed blood.
But he stood tall, unwavering.
Looking coldly at an army below, he jumped into it.
Swinging the spear cutting millions.
Diana, didn't blink, but watched, as she walked to her man.
The bloodshed continued, Cayn's figure grew wider, as he fought stronger people. And the chants gradually intensified in her ears.
He was never the strongest, but he was the scarily persistent.
The people under him increased. He saved more and more, while his eyes only grew more distant and dim.
His scars stopped healing at a certain point. He always wore big clothes to cover them from his family, from the kids he met on the streets of his empire, from his people.
He always took strolls, for the next day to fight unlimited armies again for months alone.
And later came the vision, where he stood against the six supreme.
Diana stood in front of Cayn as she saw those supreme creatures.
The vision that followed, was Cayn's spear and sword, butchering the last one of them that screamed like a pig for forgiveness. While the bodies of the others lined up behind them.
Cayn's left body part was co;pletely bit off. Marks of teeths and scratches all over his body. You could see his bones and lungs from those deep scars.
Yet his eye that was barely open, with the other one left closed and cut in half, was bloody focused on cutting that creature's neck with a dulled sword that lost its edge in the middle of the fight.

She was still seeing that vision, until Cayn stood on top of the corps, panting.
He screamed, shaking the entire dimension. He, finally fell to the ground, breathing heavily, dying.
She took a look at the man standing in front of her.
She sipped her wine.
Cayn didnt say a word, neither did she.
They kept looking at each other, until Diana finished her drink and the visions stopped.
"Would you like to follow me outside, dear," she said.
Cayn inclined his head, "After you."
They both walked out in front of everyone.
Sakura, was left watching their backs.
---
Cayn walked behind Diana for a while, until they made way to palace guarden, where the flowers and trees were a head taller.
She looked around, making sure was nobody around.
She then turned to Cayn, walked towards him slowly.
Diana stood close to him.
She gently put her hands on his shirt, tightening up his clothes. Then slowly wrapped her hands around his waist, placing her head on his chest.
She held him tightly, whitout saying a word, feeling the warmth of his body.
"I am, sorry," she said softly.
Cayn held her, placing his head on her hair.
"For what?" He asked.
"I, was forcing you to open up to me. I was naively thinki-"
"Diana," he interrupted her. "Don't be sorry. You, were only trying to help me. And," he paused, "it's merely, because I have nothing to opened up about anyway." Cayn spoke with a cracked voice.
Yeah, he doesn't, she thought. He merely lived as a toul, without feelings of his own.
"I, will still be stupid one last time, and ask you for a favor," she said as she raised her head to look at him.
Cayn stared for a moment at her beautiful face, "And, what would that be?"
"To find something that you enjoy doing, something that would make you smile, but for yourself," she said.
Cayn's eyes were still expressionless.
She looked down, "I-I am sorry i-if that was too mu-"
Cayn suddenly held her face with both his hands, gently carresing her cheeks as he raised her head to press his lips on hers passionatly.
His tongue forced it's way down her mouth, hungry for her flowery flavor.
Diana was standing on her tiptoes, her cheeks blushing pink as she closed her eyes.
Cayn pulled out his tongue slowly, their saliva still intertwined. His grip on her face tightened.
"I have the answer, right here," he started breathing heavily. His voice was, deeper and more imposing. "Right here, in front, of me."
Diana's body shivered uncomfortably. She moved in closer on her heels.
He caught her tongue once again, bited her lips, ravished her mouth.
Their breathing got fiercer, craving each other.
His hand ran throught her now messy hair, grabbing her.
His other hand placed on her hip, pulling her closer as he bit her pink lips.
Diana moaned, "C-ca-"
He suddenly covered her mouth with the pal of his hand, staring at her with his cold beastly eyes.
"Don't moan it." He took his hand off, feeling her lips with his fingers, "Not yet, for another night, another place." Spoke Cayn.
Diana looked at him with an embarassed expression, gasping, as if she pictured it. She shied away from his gaze.
But he lifted her chin with his fingers.
He pierced her with his gaze, "I own you."
Her eyes' widened, staring blankly.
She started fidgeting, not being able run away from his eyes.
He looked at her affectionally, making her freeze.
He inclined his head, and kissed her gently.

Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.
