《Known World Series》Soul of the Mother

Bors found himself alone, standing on the red-orange sands of Mars, bloody and dead tribesmen around him as he had found them years ago. He’d returned with money and weapons for his tribe from fighting as a mercenary and returned to death. Amongst the corpses were the four-armed Green Martians. It was a large party, but the Hidden Mountain Tribe had cut down many of their numbers as well. It was then that he’d found that his tribe’s treasure, the one thing they were to guard forever, the Soul of the Mother, had been taken. Yet Bors knew that it hung on his back even as he stood there.
A figure shimmered into view. At first, Bors gripped his new steel sword and took a stance, though something felt wrong. His chest hurt. His body was wracked by a coughing fit. He then felt dizzy as the reality hit him. He remembered the large bolt taking him in the chest and pitching him into the river. He remembered the bone-jarring cold that sapped his strength. The image of his friend, Rick trying to save Bors’s half-drowned body. Then falling through the air and the pain of slamming into the water again and blackness. He knew the form before him, the dark, shawl-wrapped form of Mother.
“Do you know why you are here?” Mother asked in her sepulchral voice.
“I am dying, and you are showing me my ancestors?”
The youthful-looking chin and mouth quirked into a twisted half-smile. “Something along those lines. But I can make you even stronger, my bearer. I can give you more of my strength. All you need do is ask.”
“No,” Bors said, looking away from her. “I will not lose more of myself to you.”
“Lose what?” Mother asked with a rasping, husky laugh. “You are the last of your tribe. You are alone.”

“I have friends! Tosh of House du’Val. Rick of the Space—”
“They would turn their backs on you if they knew what a murderer you were,” Mother said, her voice a whisper in his ear.
“No,” Bors said, closing his eyes. He knew she would try more.
And she did . . .
Bors was suddenly a child of ten, watching an even earlier raid as the last of the Tribe of the Hidden Mountain fought a bloody skirmish with the Green Martians. Even at a young age, he tried to help but was knocked aside as an elder came to his aid to take a mortal wound meant for Bors. The skirmishing group was slaughtered. Bors was trapped under the dead body of his mentor. He tried to move the body and couldn’t. He heard the growling, hissing laugh of a Green Martian as it crawled toward his trapped form. Murder was in the severely injured Martian’s eyes. It raised up on its smaller, lower hands with a dagger in a trembling overhead grasp. The Martian mumbled something in its language, sputtered, and coughed up a dark ichor. Succumbing to its wounds, the Green Martian simply dropped, landing atop the prone form of the Hidden Tribe elder Bors was trapped beneath.
“Without me, you are nothing,” Mother hissed as the creature moved closer and closer. “You are weak and worthless. I should never have saved you then.”
Bors shook his head, knowing what the Soul of the Mother was trying to do. He let out a roar, “Then I am nothing!”

Dragon: Birth of an Ancient
Deep in a secluded forest, within the depths of a long forgotten cave, an unnatural silence that has reigned for little over a million years is shattered as a hatchling takes its first breath. To the various species that called this world, one of seven, home, the matter seemed beyond insignificant. The hatchling, like all monsters, had no divine backing and with its age, could only be considered a lesser existence. A being to be used by the Chosen and noble monster bloodlines in their never-ending pursuit of power, fame and immortality. However, how could any of the short-lived races, Chosen and Monster alike, know that the tiny, weak, lizard-like creature was much more than it seemed. That it was an entity only spoken of in myth and legend. From a species that their ancestors, with the backing of the Gods, paid a huge price to remove. A heretical existence that threatened the fragile peace that had descended upon their world. A Dragon. ==== ** Cover done by the amazing Felix!*** I am writing this story for a friend who is currently in hospital and in a very precarious situation. He gave me the plot/ concept and, after my own health issues, I wanted to try and brighten his day and provide a distraction from the monotony of their hospital stay. I am posting it on RRL mainly in case anyone else can find enjoyment from the story and to show the readers of my other stories that I am not permanently MIA (and will 100% return to those stories in the future).

Two hundred years later, Asura Yaman reincarnates as golden prince, Suryadev, of RakhtaPrastha. Once he comes of age, a darkness begins to lurk in his dreams. Flashbacks from his past life erode his mind, his fate "unforeseen by the gods." As he seeks to heal, his path entwines with Vidyut, his long time rival. Hardened by the cruelties of life, Vidyut embraces the dark art of Tantra, for which he is both rejected and coveted by the people of the five kingdoms. Meanwhile, the kingdom of RakhtaPrastha is facing political turmoil and rival kingdoms, while the animosity between God King Arya and Yaman/Surya's supporter, Goddess Dimuka, is spilling into the human world. Princes, Spells, Gods, Spirits, Heaven, Mythical creatures, Wars, and Reincarnation, and so much more. It is based on Indian mythology, specifically Hindu mythology. But it is an original fantasy and focus is character arcs. It has BL/Gay content. Most Surya-Vidyut interactions are in the chapters marked Surya or Vidyut. The romance in this story is slowburn. **Daily Chapter Release** Cover Art Disclaimer: The cover art is using an image from Pinterest. The art has been kindly created by Ben Arisson. With You [Cannon Kuroo x reader]
You are a manager for the Karasuno the volleyball team, along with Kiyoko. When you met the captain of the Nekoma, Kuroo Tetsuro, at a practice game, life became more interesting. Read to see what happens when you two meet again at a training camp.(Absolutely no angst because only happy thoughts. Cannon Kuroo, because fandom Kuroo is sorta toxic. Please read, comment, share, and vote for no reason.)P.S: Y/N does not play a sport, not at all. (The reason why is that I hate sports and I've seen to much of the sporty girl x Kuroo. I wanted something different and everyone seems to think that Y/N is a fit person with some attitude, especially with those Kuroo x readers. I wanted Y/N to be normal and nice with no attitude and no sass. Thanks for listening to me rant. Oh and sorry if you're fit this fanfic works for you too and you're beautiful too.)
