《The Princess And Her Warmonger》Chapter Aven

In the middle of a torn-up wasteland, fire bloomed everywhere. Burnt bodies were everywhere, their bodies not only burnt or ashes, but in pieces as well. Lava flowed freely in large cracks in the ground and the normally sandy ground of Nostalisk was black and hardened, some places reflective. Outside the worst of it, the sand was glass. This stretched for a long while, what some may consider miles. In the middle of this mess sat a girl. A wide grin was on her face. Her skin was tan in color but most of her body was c0vered by thick red, black, and gold colored armor, only the armor looked more like it was made of molten rock. In fact, despite looking like armor, if one were to look close enough, they would realize that some of the spines of the armor aren't armor, but coming from the girl herself, especially around her shoulders. Her eyes were a blazing amber and red color, mixed in with orange and blazing like a flame. Her teeth were wicked sharp and she didn't have all the normal teeth a humanoid did, having less.
In her right hand was a massive Bardiche, black, orange, and gold just like magma. The blade was black and at the tip of the blade, glowing a bright orange with the air shimmering around it. In fact, the air shimmered around the whole area but shimmered violently around the girl. The girl had short orange hair and claws orange and gold in color. In her left hand, next to a decapitated head of a purple haired knight, was a black book. She was flipping through its pages with one hand, a manic look on her face. After finishing the book, the girl stood up, carrying her massive weapon with her. She rested the hilt on the ground which caused the whole area for miles to shake like it was having an earthquake.

The book disappeared in a flash of orange and the girl let out a sigh, her voice normal sounding despite her many abnormalities. Her eyes settled on something in the distance and she smiled again, her eyes flashing once before returning to their inferno. She started walking towards whatever she saw in the distance, letting out a slow chuckle. Her name was Aven. It was a simple sounding yet nice name. Some say it sounds like a bird. Of course, the girl looked nothing like a bird. A long red and black-tipped forked tongue went out of her mouth and tasted the air.
"Ah! Yes, I thought I smelled you."
The girl chuckled all while walking forward at a slow yet even pace, each step she takes burning the already black ground below her.
"One of the disciples of Ai, ehh? Sharia and a little something I call peace. Fresh dinner in the making and a reminder of the past."
The girl looked up at the sun and gave it a wave.
"Āha, mērā burā. Tusīṁ rāja hō. Uha yudha ika vāra laṛi'ā gi'ā, jisanē ai'ī nū usadī jag'hā ditī, ika vāra huṇa bahuta sārē ika, dō duśamaṇa dubārā ika dūjē tē. The girl paused.
"Stay alive, Sharia. I can't wait to see what face you'll make when you see me again."

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

Tale of an Anomaly
It was supposed to be a normal weekend, staying a little bit longer in bed, not worrying about work, spending quality family time, or partying late night for some people and hoping to get a little lucky. Then why the hell were half the buildings disappearing right in front of them? What was the big message in the sky supposed to mean? And why the fuck was there a dragon in the middle of the city?! Follow Bharat, an ordinary freelancer out for a job, who, after getting caught up in an unfortunate series of events finds himself all alone in a forest full of dangerous creatures out for his blood, along with a strange screen in front of him that felt awfully similar to the games he used to play and the books he used to read as a kid. Maybe his countless hours of gaming weren’t useless after all! Release Schedule: 4 days a week About the author: Just an amateur writer from India who started writing as hobby during quarantine. English is not my native language, so any kind of feedback is most welcome. Don’t take the tags and warnings too seriously though. It’s just to prevent flames later, just in case.

Level Up Lord
Just the story of Karl who will become a strong and rich noble (or perhaps better) after being reincarnated into a fantasy world. *The summary may cause irrational hate for an unknown reason* *Greatly inspired by korean novels* *This novel is maybe written in Engrich* *Probably not very original* *Certainly not meant to be well-written* *Invisible Dragon is perhaps better than this novel* *Nobody forces you to read so you are reading this at your own risk* *You are supposedly not supposed to read this novel* *You read this and didn't like it? No problem*
