《Mother World》Chapter 1: Vertigo

Author note: I now have a much greater respect for all the authors out there after trying to write out my own story. Seriously, basing a story off of a dream is hard work. Especially when it always makes sense while your in the dream and then once it's over it barely ever makes sense. Tying up plot holes is honestly half of the work I got ahead of me. And on top of all that, I haven’t had access to a computer recently and have been writing on my phone and iPad. I’ll soon regain control over a computer so don’t worry about that. *Mini rant end*
Anyways have a happy new year and enjoy!

The moment seemed suspended in time. Grace's coffee cup slowly fell out of her hands. Mike's face was jammed against some of the many blinking panels and Ricardo still had a death grip upon the controls of the sub like it was his only lifeline.
The moment was then broken as light violently flooded through the two small viewing ports inside the sub and everything including the still people were thrown against the top of the compact space.
As gravity was temporarily lost, Mike managed to recover first. He maneuvered himself towards the front view port in an attempt to figure out what was going on. Fighting the rising nausea he focused his attention through the limited view. Ricardo and Grace then grabbed onto the ladder that led to the top hatch.
A roaring sound began to resound throughout the hull as Calvin began to increase in velocity. "What is going on!" Grace screamed at the top of her lungs to the two bewildered scientists. "It seems we are currently free falling from the sky into what can only be a large body of water!" Mike yelled back over the noise.

The Calvin weighed somewhere around 17 tons so it sank like a rock as it fell from a great height. Mike, who was still glued to the viewing port, quickly distanced himself from it to where the two other researchers were. Absentmindedly licking some blood that rolled onto his lips, Mike grabbed some of the leftover space on the ladder for himself. "Brace for impact!" he yelled to Ricardo and Grace.
*KASPLOOSH!*
Following Mikes warning the sub lurched, tearing their grips from the ladder. Gravity returned crushing the three unlucky researchers like rag dolls into the floor. The sunlight quickly vanished and was replaced by a unnaturally dark, murky light.. Everything seemed quiet except for the shallow, panicked breathing of the three people who were currently sprawled across the floor. "Heh.. *cough* lucky the floors were padded or we'd be unconscious in a rapidly sinking sub" Ricardo croaked as he picked himself up off the floor followed by Mike and Grace.
"I'll go steer the sub, you go run a systems check on the Calvin" Ricardo briefly glanced back at Grace before continuing "...And Mike you patch up your head it's looking uglier then it usually does."
"Thanks" Mike replied sarcastically as he wobbled to a small box labeled 'medical supplies.'
After moments of struggle, Ricardo eventually managed to stabilize the vessel. Silence reigned throughout the interior of the personal sphere, occasionally being broken by the quiet beep of electronics.

Author note: Yup this whole chapter was about free-falling sub. Deal with it. :p

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet! This volume and the next two contain hundreds of pages filled with rollicking good times, fast moving action and a page turning adventure you will not soon forget."Books In The Scythian Stone Saga:THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY Episode 1 - 500 pagesTHE REGENTS OF RHUM Episode 2 - 800 pagesTHE SCIONS OF SCOTIA Episode 3 - 800 pages

Ten Thousand Sallys
Imagine waking up in a hospital room, you can barely move. No one comes when you call. The only other person present is a little boy, who is, surprisingly, more help than you would expect. What would you do? This is the exact situation Sally finds herself in. Almost immediately she discovers that nothing is what she thinks it is. Not the boy, not the hospital, maybe not even herself. She is in deep trouble and the consequences will be dire if she can’t find a way out. She is a fighter, though, and just doesn't quit. As a baseline human, she starts as the lowest of the low and has to claw her way up in spite of being tangled in a shifting web of schemes and plots. She has to do her best, and maybe her best is pretty good. As Sally uncovers more about her situation, she finds that she has to be smart and tough and that in this place she needs to depend on her friends, who are using her as much as she is using them. This book contains themes concerning life, death, and body functions, light swearing, minimal nakedness, and should be suitable for most. Some pertinent info: Ten Thousand Sallys is a complete novel of approximately 140 pages in 20 chapters. Around 80,000 words. not too long, and maybe too short. Give it a read and let me know your opinion.
