"where are you going Mugha?"
"I'll tell all the fighters to guard the village"
"....ok then"
Mugha left the room. Khall's replication prepared to leave as well.
"Khall, can i have a moment?" Shanti stopped him
"...sure"
"then, I'll take my leave as well"
The elder nodded and both of them left the room. He looked up at the ceilling and sighed.
"...our mighty beast god ROGNIR.... is this really the way?"
Shanti and Khall stopped near the door to the underground room.
"what's it?"
"...you could tell him yesterday about the magic device. That alone would make him realized about the risk"
Khall's replication just stood there and didn't give reply to her words.
"Khall that i know would tell that"
"I'm just...tired. I already said my reason"
"...are you sure? about the magic device? you saw their leader had it?"
"....what is this? are you doubting me right now?"
"no, it's just... i need to confirm it"
"i didn't saw it. Maybe they hid it"
"is that so...."
"is that all?"
".... yes, that's all"
Khall's replication turned around and left her. Meanwhile Shanti headed to the shrine for the ritual with her worried expression on her face.

Meanwhile, on their way to Bar'laghine.
"how long until we arrive at your fort?"
"with this pace, around one and half day. Why? are you tired now Khall?"
"no... it's the opposite. We can run faster rather than walk with this...slow pace..."
Chillyd laughed and shouted to the soldiers in front of him.
"you hear that men!! can you run faster?!"
They didn't respond to it because they needed to keep focus in this forest. Chillyd turned at Khall.

"seems they can't do that"
"i see..." Khall nodded
It's already more than half day since he leaving his village. He was quite nervous because this was the first time he leaving from Ohre village.
"how's Shanti doing ... are they still mourning..."
Chillyd tapped his shoulder.
"calm down Khall. They're going to be okay. At least before that man brings one hundred soldiers with him.. right?"
"yes... you're right"
At the very least he knew that there's no one who would attack his tribe. They enemies were with him right now.
"how...how will he make me stronger? your friend?"
"hm? you're worried about that? he is one of the genius. He definitely will make you stronger!"
"i just... want to know how. I've never heard about something like that in my village"
"hahaha, of course you won't! we, humans, are more advanced than your primitive tribe" He laughed quite hard
Khall couldn't deny that. The way they used that magic device already proved his words.
"I'll leave it up to you then"
"right, you don't have to worry about anything Khall"
They walked until almost dark and Chillyd decide to rest before they continued their way to Bar'laghine.
"we will arrive tomorrow Khall, don't worry"
They set camp and prepared for tomorrow. Khall tried to close his eyes with so many things in his mind.
"just wait.... I'll get stronger and protect everyone in the village..."
Morning came and they continued their journey. They arrived at the whispering lake when it almost dark.
"what kind of place is this..?"
"what? you never see a lake before?"
"lake? no... never heard or seen that"
"well, this is lake. Tho you can't see it clearly because it's almost dark here"
"no.. i can see it clearly"

"hmm, so that's Half-beast's eyes capability? interesting" Chillyd mumbled
Khall bowed and picked one of the butterfly flowers.
"this flower is beautiful. I wonder if Shanti will like it.."
"let's continue. Bar'laghine is already near"
"yeah.... let's do that"
Khall put the flower in his pocket and followed Chillyd.
Almost midnight, they were out from the forest and arrived in the front of Bar'laghine.
"is that a wall..?!"
"haha, yes it is! our proud wall. Nothing can bring it down!"
" ... -glup- it makes sense.." Khall was afraid
They approached the gate and the soldiers greeted them.
"sir Chillyd! open the gate!"
-zriig-
The gate was opened and they entered the town. Just when they passed the gate, a man stood in front of them. A sturdy man with his fierce looks.
"good evening sir Chanotte" Chillyd bowed
"...so you have finished the scout mission?"
"yes, as you can see here" He pointed at Khall
"why you bring the monster here?"
"hey, don't be so rude sir Chanotte. He helped me to complete my scout mission"
"....i don't care. I'll kill whatever in front of me"
Chanotte left them and gave a very unpleasant feeling for Khall.
"is he...?"
"yes Khall. I need you to kill that man"
"i see..."
"come, let's meet my friend"
Khall nodded and followed him without knowing what kind of fate that awaited him.

Rise of the Human Emperor
The Gods and Goddesses felt dissatisfied with the development of the mortals, and thus they decided to create a game. Animals mutated, and fantasy-like monsters invaded the world. Humans thought they were forsaken by the Gods. However, hope came after discovering that anyone that killed a mutated animal or monsters would awaken an internal energy called 'Mana'. Miraculous abilities such as the manipulation of elements, moving objects with the mind, and more super-human abilities appeared one after another. But... Would the humans truly survive the trials, be them internal or external? Would the terrors that come from their mutated planet, and beings that come from the vast sea of stars have mercy on them? Or would they fight till one side is exterminated? Would the Humans rise through the endless chaos, or succumb to the darkness of death? A sick game for entertainment of the Gods, and survival of the humans. This is the Rise of the Human Emperor. Disclaimer: The cover's drawing do not belong to me, it was edited by a good friend. Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
