"fully isolated..... this skill is quite dangerous"
Yana observed the situation. If his enemy used the same explosion skill like earlier, he wouldn't have nowhere to go.
Libhane was seeing that with a smile on his face.
"show me Yana! how interesting man you are!"
Yana focused with the movement of his enemy.
"now i don't have to worry about anything else. I want to see if you have a way to get out from this"
Chillyd pointed his sword to the sky again.
[MERCILESS EMPEROR]
White aura covered Chillyd's body. Cold mist also gathered around him.
".... there's no opening. This will be troublesome"
Yana took few steps back and prepared for what's going to happen next.
-whuung-
Chillyd brandished his sword and the cold mist scattered around him.
"what.....what is that?!"
One of the soldier couldn't hide their suprised expression. They had never seen something like that.
A white armor with intricate ornament covered Chillyd's body. Several ice thorns circled his head, it almost looked like a crown.
In the very middle of the armor, there was a big ornament that looked like an eye. A dim blue light could be seen at the center of it.
No one in that place had ever seen a scenery like that. Just what kind of skill was that?
-sssh-
Chillyd opened his eyes. His pupils were emitting a dark blue light and gave this uneasy feeling to whoever that saw it.
"so... you're the one that i need to annihilated?"
His voice became very hoarse and seemed weird.
"....i assume, you're the merciless emperor?" Yana replied
"a mere human like you... dare to address me without showing your respect and bowing before me.."
"forgive me my lord, but you want to kill me. So courtesy is the last thing that i want to concern with"

Yana didn't lowered his guard, nor his head. He looked straight at the emperor's eyes.
"....you said that, but i don't sense any respect from you"
He continued his words while moving forward toward Yana.
"but that is not important.... because we are truly not equal"
-whuss-
He raised his sword and took his stance.
"isn't that obvious my lord? i'm just a commoner after all"
".....you don't need to pretend in front of me. Do you think i won't recognize you?"
".....what do you mean by that?"
"Furr'dhad... you are our apostle. A holy being who is sent by our Rhal'vhateq"
"....so a powerful being like you are able to recognize me? hm.."
Yana didn't expect that this emperor would recognize him as the VAR's apostle.
"despite knowing that, you still want to kill me?"
"regardless who you are, i always honored my promise. This young human was giving all of his current life force and a quarter of his life spawn for killing you. I'll do just that"
-zriing-
"you will perish here, our Furr'dhad"
"i won't let that happen"
Yana raised his knife and observed his enemy. This wasn't the time where he could lower his focus.
-whuss-
-triing-
One slash came at his neck. He evaded that by turned his body and blocked it with his knife.
"it's really fast..."
-triing-
-triing-
Flash by flash, the emperor's attack kept coming at him. He always dogded it with a very close gap.
One millimeter wrong move or one second delay would made him cut by the emperor's attack.
"that's crazy.... i can't see what is happening in there"
"yeah... what's going on here"
The soldiers couldn't turn their eyes from that fight. They even forgot about Khall and Ragha that still struggled to kill each other near them.

-zraash-
Fresh blood dropped on the ground. Yana's right arm was bleeding. Finally, one of the emperor's hit got him.
"-fuuh- even with all of my focus, it's still hard to evade all of his attacks. But..."
The emperor stopped and lowered his sword.
"you've only gotten hit once? then let's do something that's more effective"
"here it comes.."
Yana already saw this coming.
The emperor raised his hand and used his skill.
[IMPERIAL ICE TUSK]
One big white circle appeared on the ground and covered all of the ice prison area. The scale was far larger than the [ICE TUSK V] skill.
"forgive me, our Furr'dhad"
-blaar-
-whuss-
-zrrrkkk-
Countless ice lances arose from the ground. No one could feel Yana's presence after that skill was activated.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
