《Ghost Unit In Another World》Chapter 4: A New World

Inside the Massive Cave.
After the white light vanished, their vision started to become clear.
They were somehow disoriented and fatigued.
"What the fuck just happened?" Bravo Eight questioned as he forcefully stopped himself from vomiting.
"It was the bloody artifact...." Master Chief answered.
"It felt like someone hit me in the gut real hard." Bravo Two said.
"Same here.." the Moari/Samoan agreed as he held his stomach.
"Fuck I want to vomit..." the Frenchman who held the urge to puke said.
"Ms. Q....are you alright?.." Master Chief said as he focused his attention to the only female in the group.
"I'm just alil dizzy....I think I'm about to faint..." she answered before she lost her balance and nearly losing consciousness.
Master Chief who was near her, held her tightly around the waist as he brought her close for support.
"Thanks..." she said with appreciation as she laid her head on his chest.
"Bravo Two, radio in on the other members of Bravo, check what's their status.....Bravo Seven, go out the cave and observe for enemy movements....Bravo Three and Eight, I'll need you finish planting those C4's."
"Roger" the four of them answered in unison as they got to work.
Master Chief on the other hand, princess carried the beauty to a stretcher and laid her down.
"Rest for awhile......gather up some strength before we move."
Master Chief said as he gave her some water from his military issued Camelbak to drink, to which she accepted.
"I guess these are what some say as an indirect kiss...." Ms Q said it with blush.
"I haven't drank from my Camelbak yet, so.....no, technically it is not an indirect kiss." Master Chief denied as change frequency to contact HQ.
"Hector, this is Bravo One, radio check over.....Hector, this is Bravo One, radio check over......"
KkkkShshshshshshshshhsshshhss
"Hector, this is Bravo One, radio check over...."
KkkkkShshshshshshshshshsshshhsh
"I can't get through HQ....shit, the artifact must have done something...."
Master Chief said as he tried to comprehend what happened before.
"Bravo One, I think I know why....."
Bravo Seven appeared infront of Master Chief.
"Why are you not outside?..." asked Master Chief.
"I came to call you to take a look outside.....something is totally wrong with the forest."

"What do you mean?" Bravo one asked asked in confusion.
"Just take a look and you will see for yourself."
Master Chief than proceeded to follow Bravo Seven to take a look outside only to be stunned.
The forest setting was different, but the most puzzling was, it was sunny outside.
"The forest looks different......didn't we spent only 30 minutes in the cave? So how the hell is it sunny outside?....this can't be."
Master Chief questioned the rationality of the situation before looking down on his watch to see the time which indicated that is was 3am in the morning.
"Check your watch, see if your time says its 3am..." Master Chief instructed Bravo Seven.
"Yep, 3am" Bravo Seven replied.
"I think this has got to do with that artifact." Master Chief said in a serious tone.
"I'll radio in on the others" Master Chief spoke as he readjust his radio frequency.
"Bravo Two, status report."
"Bravo One, all pers accounted for and are all in good health."
"Good....now for the time being, disarm all C4's till we figure out our situation.......something doesn't feel right."
"Will do Bravo One."
Master Chief than turned to Bravo Seven.
"Bravo Seven, stay here and keep a look out, I'll go and see how Ms. Q is holding up."
Bravo Seven gave a thumbs up before resuming his duty.
Master Chief than headed back to Ms. Q to check up on her.
"How are you feeling right now?"
"I'm all good now" she replied before sitting up.
"Good.....we're in a bit of a predicament.....the situation had just turned worse.....we are not sure where we are and the time of day we're in."
"What do you mean....ain't we still in the cave?, and isn't it still early hours in the morning?"
Ms. Q asked in confusion.
"No......the terrain outside is different when we first hit this cave ....there were no bodies of the dead hostiles or blood outside....to make it more puzzling, is that outside is as bright, as though it is midday."
"WHAT?!!!? Ms. Q shouted in surprise.
"You said that this Gibson guy talked about the artifact as some sort of teleportation or transportation device?."
Master Chief questioned.
"We heard him bragged to one of his clients about going to another world to build a strong empire or something, he said that the artifact had some sort of ancient power that could open a portal to another world.....we just brushed it off as some type of joke or something....I mean really, who would believe such a thing."

Ms. Q answered as she thought back to the recording they had when one of their informant planted a listening device in the meeting room between the client and the arms dealer.
"That makes sense.......I wouldn't believe it till now, the question is, what planet or what world are we on?"
Master Chief said in a questioning gaze.
"I guess I will do what I do best."
"And that is?...." Master Chief raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Gather intel...."
"Alright, you will work with Bravo Three and Five....also tell Bravo Five to look for a portable drone.....I'm sure this base has got some stashed somewhere..... use it to help in gathering information on this land......I want information on 20 miles radius from this cave and construct a digital map with grid squares and locate all inhabitants within." Master Chief instructed her.
"We are on it.." Ms. Q replied as she walked away to look for her two helpers.
Master Chief than heads to the container to which he found it still open. He found that the open crate inside the container was empty, as the artifact vanished in thin air.
"I guess we're stuck here..." Master Chief said with a sigh of resignation.
5 hours later.
"Master Chief, great news, we managed to create a map using of not just 20 miles radius but 50 miles radius.." Ms Q said as she ran up to Master Chief to give the good news.
"Good job....did you managed to locate any inhabitants within the 50 miles?
Master Chief asked.
"Quite a few, mostly villages. The nearest village is 19 miles South of here and the nearest town is 45 miles East." She answered.
"Good work....anything else?"
"Yeah, we observed the people here, they look like those old medieval times, we saw a group of people wearing what appears to be knight armour with swords escorting a carriage to the town. The building design are also that of medival era. We spotted a few animals or should I say beasts lurking in the forests, they don't look like animals from earth."
Ms. Q continued.
" So that pretty much confirms that the theory of us teleported in another world is real...this is troublesome."
Master Chief felt like his head was going crazy learning all this.
"Good work Ms. Q..." Master Chief said.
"You can call me Qwen....since we are no longer on earth."
"Qwen, it suits you.....you can call me Rex if we are to use names now."
Rex said as did it out of formalities.
The rest of Bravo were already gathered around the two when they heard them introducing themselves.
"Uhhh disregarding protocols are we."
Bravo Two teased the both of them.
"I know protocols don't allow us to know each other's identities, but we are no longer on Earth.......since you are all here, why don't you all introduce yourselves in order of your call signs...starting with you Bravo Two....."
Rex said as he looked at Bravo Two.
"Names Gaz Robinsons just call me Gaz, Ex-British SAS."
"Hi, I'm Hugo Pierre, former French police special force GIGN."
"Viktor Kamarov, Ex-FSB, Russia."
"Annyeong Haseyo, I'm Kim Yoon Sul, Korean Navy Seal. You can call me Kim." he said with a slight bow.
"I'm Kagiso, it means Peace in Tswana but you can call me Kagi, Former Recce, South African Special Force."
'Kiora, I'm Seone Timoti. You can call me Tim. I'm Maori part Samoan, Former New Zealand SAS."
"I'm Pun Batsal, you can call me Pun or just medic. I used to serve in the Royal Gukha Rifles Regiment.....pleased to know you all."
"Funny, serving 2 years with each other.....we just got to know each other now." Rex spoke after all the introductions.
"Now get some rest, because tonight we are going to the nearest village to gather intel.....I will start sentry, which will rotate every hour, so sleep tight."
Rex made his way towards the gate to keep guard while the rest of the team went to rest.
Tonight would be the start of their journey into the new world.

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

The Exodus Project
This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.
