《Super Realm》A different awakening

"Ha-ha, it seems like she had paid a price for nothing."
"Well, it was her decision to take the useless book."
While others laughed Luo Si remained calm. Engulfed in the blank pages.
It was another precaution. Since the context was not meant for the unwelcomed, only people allowed by Aristocrat Fu were able to read the context.
Different from the others, Luo Si could see the strange looking native language. Sadly, she could no longer read it, but that didn't matter.
She only needed the pictures showing human bodies and the many interconnected points inside them.
The other books had similar pictures, indicating that the book she opened should be a foundation book as well. There was a difference though.
While the mass talked about up to 32 Acupoints, the book in front of her mentioned a whopping 64. Double the number.
Was there a difference?
Of course, there was.
The number of meridians opened would determine how much worldly energy, or qi, one could use. And as a progressing matter of fact reflect one's potential.
And that was the heavenly difference between the two factions, because if someone practiced one of the books in the middle of the cage, they would at most only reach 32 opened meridians, while the book in her hands opened her a window to obtain 64.
Luo Si read through the meditation and breathing technique. Well, it was more accurate to say that she just looked at them, because she did not understand a single word from the side notes. The meditating figure was not sitting, but standing in a loose stance. He did not stand straight as his knees and hips were lightly bend. The other noticeable point were his hands openly positioned in front of his chest.
At first, she though it was a fragile stance. Though, mimicking it, proved her wrong as she felt rather stable with her center lowered.

The breathing technique was easier to understand. Breathing in through the nose and out of the mouth, but instead of inflating her chest, the energy needed to be guided to the underlying sea of a stomach.
All of that was fairly easy, making one wonder why wonder what made it so special. The tricky point laid in the fact that one had to start from the right meridian or else one would be wasted.
Offspring's of the Fu clan would usually be accompanied through the process awakening by an Elder like old Fu. She on the other hand needed to do all things by herself. To make matters worse, she only had less than half an hour remaining to accomplish something that usually took days at least.
After going through the exercise once and memorizing the meridian path she put the book away to not let any accidents occur.
The silver needle was taken out and held upwards in front of her as if to look at the answer of the question, how she was going to start.
She took a deep breath, though looking as stoic and unmovable as ever.
"Alright, time is running out. Let's break through!" After moving into the meditation stance, without hesitation, the needle was drilled into her center.
There were two ways of starting the path towards higher strength. The natural awakening, done in the sweat of one's heart. The individual would train in a straight way as qi moved itself through the body, slowly infusing into the meridians. The pace depended on luck, and the opened potential started low but was a guaranteed success.
As for the second option, well it could be summarized by saying that one should be ready to accept the consequences for defying nature.
While the natural awakened walked in his own steady pace towards the goal, the enforcer went ahead and blasted himself tied up to a supersonic missile, relying on his massive balls of steel.

Luo Si had done this previously, when she left the cage. At that time, she forcefully overloaded her accustomed body. Making it a game for the meridians. The early bird gets the worm. Doing it without any technique had made her body receive the lower end of the deal though. It explained the groan she made while passing through the cage-bars.
The needle was rammed into the lower part of her heart. The silver needle was very thin, but Luo Si still felt like she had ripped a hole in her heart.
"Ke!" Even though she was mentally prepared, her fresh body was not. Relieved by the fact that the needle was really thin, Luo Si continued on, taking deep breaths of energy through the nose and exhaling them through the mouth. The lower part of her shirt bulging ever so slightly.
"Look, she is about to do something crazy again."
"Hopefully she is logging off. She has done nothing but taking space." People started to get annoyed about her behavior and presence.
Kuilei was happy seeing people dissatisfied with her, but kept his training up.
Originally, he was frightened when Luo Si left the cage, but regained his cool after finding out she was a waste.
"Hehe, seems like boss already did a number on her when she got served." Kuilei laughed.
"What did I say? She is already a goner, destined to suffer in this cage forever."
"Maybe she wants to safe the shame off logging off like a loser and directly teleport to the wall by dying."
Players were watching in amusement. The never-ending training became boring to most. Seeing something else, brought diversity.
Lou Si's face remained the same, just her gaze intensified "Open."
She frantically poured qi inside the pin and concentrated the qi inside her body to the paining region. For anybody else it would feel like someone burned their heart directly, but it was nothing for her.
"LOL. Does she think ascending is so easy that one could just call for it. Let me do as well, 'I command to become god'" A little Chinese found it really funny and started cracking jokes.
Bets were made as to how long it would take until she bled out to death.
"I bet it will be before John Cage returns or anyone else ascends among us thousands."
"I think it will not even take 5 minutes!"
"Me too, I think she will already collapse in 2 minutes."
People laughed heartily.
Pa*
The laughter got louder as they could already imagine her kneeling as they heard a breaking sound.
However, the merriment dulled down as a nonchalant voice aroused. "The first."
'The next one is in the left shoulder.'
Pa* pa*
"What!?" The laughing mouths still stood wide open, but the mocking howls disappeared. The onlooking eye pairs started to widen, hearing the all too familiar sound.
She… She must be cheating!" The players around Luo Si could not believe what they were witnessing. Such a fast and strange way of awakening was truly unprecedented. Even the guards and businessmen outside the cage had never experienced or heard anything like this.
'From the left eye to the axis.'
The meridians opened to her will. The number of pops was rising but so was the pain until she passed the 7th point.

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. "Ohhhh, who's this again?" The creep asked. The one with the chainsaw shrugged quickly, looking to his right. I felt my heart jumping out of my stomach and my adrenaline pumping. "Bubba's got a girlfriend!" The creep bounced up and down, chanting that stupid shit. "P-please..." I begged. I looked into the killer's eyes. He looked.. embarrassed? He has emotion? Is that why he's not killing me? I saw him reach out to open the lock but his brother shoved him back, grabbing the lightweight chainsaw as he did. "Either sex... or the saw, Leatherface." His brother held up a chainsaw. I let out a small scream. "Le-leather... f-face?" I gasped, trying to somehow earn more sympathy. He looked at me and nervously fiddled with his tie.
