“Jacob!?!”
“Michael! I need you now! Don’t lose it now! The enemy is closing in!”
"H-Ho-How a-are y-y-you h-here?"
"Michael! Get it together! I can't deal with you right now, we're in the middle of a battlefield! Think a little. The enemies are aproaching, and fast at that. If we don't retreat right now, we're gonna die!"
"o...Okay. But after this we need to talk."
"Whatever!"
Michael was feeling extremely dizzy and lightheaded. He could barely think straight. Why is Jacob alive? Or did i die, and this is what comes after? And he also had a huge migraine wich didn't help. It felt like he'd been hit by a truck. But because of all of his training he knows better than just spacing out in this battlefield-
"Michael, you see that hill over there?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"We need to go there to take cover."
"Okay got it."
Michael didn't really care about what Jacob was saying, he just listened to the important words like "go there" or "take cover". He just couldn't think straight. His migraine was influincing his train of thought. He felt like he was forgetting something important, but he didn't know what. He went with Jacob and took cover behind a pile of rocks.
"It seems like you're very confused and hurt, so just rest for a short while okay? I'll go and check out the situation. I'll just be over there, okay?"
"G-got it."
Michael was loosing conciousness, he was barely aware of his surroundings, then he suddenly jolted up. He was very confused, not because of the migraine or that he was forgetting something. It was because the migraine was gone, he didn't feel dizzy anymore. What changed?
"Jacob?"
"JACOB!?!"
Michael was franticly looking for him, and then he found him.
"Jacob! JACOB! JACOB ARE YOU OKAY!?! OH GOD, THEY SHOT YOU! No, no, no, no, no, Jacob!"
*Cough, Cough*
"What are you doing here Michael? I told you to wait for me over there."

"The migraine is gone, i'm just so confused. Jacob, do you know what's going on?"
BOOM!
"Michael!"
"W-Wha?"
Michael's migraine was back, but this time 10 times worse, and he felt way more confused, and again had a feeling that he had forgotten something.
"Get it together Michael! We don't have time for this, this is a battlefield Michael. A real battlefield in a war, so, we are gonna head for that hill over there alright?"
"M-My head hurts, what did you say?"
"Just come with me."
Jacob started dragging Michael with him towards the hill.
"There, just, just rest here, alright? I'll be over there."
"Mhm..."
Michael felt like this had already happened, but he told himself it was because of the migraine. His counciousness started slipping away, and then suddenly the migraine was gone and his head was clear. And when his thoughts got clear, he just got more confused. He decided to find Jacob for now. He yelled for him and found him, shot. He had a short conversation with him, and then another bomb landed there. Michael's migraine became 10 times worse than the last one, it felt like his head would explode, his ears were ringing and he just felt like shouting. He didn't know what was going on, until again, his head suddenly cleared up. He found Jacob, talked with him, bomb, went to the hill, found jacob, talked with him, bomb, went to the hill. Each time he was going to the hill his migraine was 10 times worse than the last one, if it weren't for Jacob saving himm all of the time he would have died long ago. The same thing just kept repeating, and repeating, and repeating for what felt like eternity. "Is this hell?" Michael often thought. "Is this my punishment? But punishment for what?" But he stood strong, even though he wanted to, he resisted. He got emotionally exhausted and barely kept his coinciousness. But the, one of the times he was heading for the hill, the migraine ended early, the ringing stopped, his confusion dissapeared, and then he heard an unfamiliar voice.

We chose 250 000 000 dead souls, and put them through this examination, where time moves 100 000 000 000 000 times faster than heaven/hell and 100 000 000 000 000 000 000 times faster than earth. For you it has been 100 eons, and for us it's been a year. Anyways, we put the 250 000 000 souls through the worst thing that ever happened to them, and forced them to live through it, over, and over, and over again for nearly 100 eons here, but somehow, despite that fact 1000 of you survived, some of you have developed the world your in, thought of yourself as God, others have been stuck in their nightmare for these 100 bilion years. Either way, the entrance exam is now over, you who have ruled your world will have a huge head start over the mental ones. That's why everyone who has gone through this for so long will recieve blessings. Oh, it seems it's only one person this time, hey you, Michael was it? Good job on pulling through. The white rabbit with blood red eyes, in a suit with a tie dissapeared after finishing it's sentence. Michael was in shock, "Game show?" This was all for a "Game show?". It was impossible for him to control his emotions, and when he was about to go on a rampage he started hearing a voice.

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?

Dominion Expansion (a 4X LitRPG)
Clay is one of the world's top players of 4X games, a genre where the goal is to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. He's also one of the only players in the world to so stubbornly stick to the one city strategy, a favorite tactic of his that involves only ever using a single city or planet depending on the game's setting. All that matters to him is winning with his favorite strategy, but earning the respect of his fellow players for taking a sub-optimal strategy to its highest level has always been a nice bonus. And now it is because of his skill and entertaining determination that he has been chosen to represent a higher realm in a strategy game where the fate of Earth and dozens of other worlds are at stake. To the victor goes the spoils, and the spoils include entire worlds and billions of lives. That's how he ends up representing the ascended realm of Hell in a grand "game" between an entire pantheon of godly beings and other higher powers. But while it may just be a game to those overseeing it, it is a genuine war for survival to those participating in it where billions of real lives will go to the victor of whoever wins, and many will die before the game is over. Quick Author's Notes: System inspired by Civilization, Endless Legend, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings 2. Combat mechanics inspired by the Total War series. Slow-paced with many long-term plans. Protagonist has a personality heavily inspired by Ron Swanson. Know who that is and love him? You should like Clay. Know who Ron Swanson is and hate him? You'll probably hate Clay. Planning on writing every single day (turn). Days with important things happening will have the system/game mechanics be the priority of the chapter. Days where there isn't really anything important happening will be more slice-of-life and focused on character interactions. Designed a dice-based randomized map generator to create the world as the story goes on, so I don't even know myself exactly what's going to happen as a lot is dependent on world generation. Tech tree with hundreds of technologies already designed. There is a "harem," but it's not the main focus, the girls won't be cardboard cutouts, and I'm not going to completely forget about any previous women in the relationship whenever a new one comes along. One last thing. The "game" starts off with primitive technology level. The current plan is for the "endgame" tech level to be equivilent to WW2-era technology. After that and war just gets boring until you end up in space. Cover is temporary and made from royalty-free stock images while waiting for the real cover's commission to finish.
