《Rise of the nefarious devil》15- Incident (II)

"What you have done right now is quite indecisive, #####. I haven't violated the contract made between the races. But even so, that doesn't give you the right to ambush I, #####, the ancestor of the ####### race in one of the worlds that don't belong to either of us, but the ####### devil race, who have equal standing with the ####### heaven chosen.
That itself made you violate one of the regulations of the contract -- to never enter a race's private property without their permission.
But even if we, the ##### demon race, had violated any regulation of the contract; we both know that you should first send a report to the ##### heavenly tribunal, thus making the venerable ###### transcendent, judge whether the ###### demon race had truly violated any regulation of the contract."The demon then signaled for the other demons to stop, as he didn't want his race to be included in a violation of the contract.
The dragon remained silent for a few seconds, as it knew what it had done had terrific consequences for their race, but when it recalled something, it coldly snorted as it replied to the demon: "We'll see about that, as for the crime you've committed; it has already been discussed with the venerable ###### transcendent. Thus this isn't a random act of my race." It then showed a paper with a insignia that was a pair of wings, along with a star in the top -- which was the symbol of the venerable ###### transcendent's signature.
As a matter of a fact, the ####### dragon had a mission by the venerable ###### transcendent, to secretly ambush the ####### ancestral demon in order to place a terrifying curse to the ####### devil race's last remaining devil.
The ####### demon race were shocked by this revelation, but they didn't show any scared attitude -- but an excited one in the contrary.

It was because demons needed to eat other races' bodies to grow stronger -- but they weren't as strong as devils since they could only absorb the energy in their bodies, whilst the devils absorbed energy from their bodies, blood and even fight...
But the ####### demon race couldn't progress much, as placed by the regulations of the contract; thus making them a bit inferior to the ####### devil face.
They then started the fight...
-
A few hours later...
The island was littered with blood, suits and destruction.
Red, gray and black are the new colors of what was once a beautiful island, which has now become the stage of a terrible battle.
There were space cracks everywhere in the battle, but nobody paid much attention to them as they were too focused on the fight.
The debate went on for hours, but it's becoming clear which side will win.
The dead and wounded of the the ###### dragon race are plentiful and lay in piles around the field; as their faces were grim with anguish and strain, their spirit will be broken soon, as they knew that the more they fought the higher chance their death is...
The ####### demon race used a strategy that made them have the upper hand -- they killed many dragons and had various demons eating their bodies; thus making them more and more stronger, until the side of the ####### dragon race was only a few hundred left...
With a certainty of victory, the ####### demons fight as if they're invincible.
As for the ####### dragon race, some have succumbed to fatigue and are longer able to defend themselves and too tired to care, while others fight on in the hopes to survive this terror.
The ####### dragon frowned as the losses were too much in this battlefield, but when he remembered the reward he would be getting by the venerable ###### transcendent, he grinned as he inwardly thought to himself:' Compared to that, these losses are nothing!'

He then remembered his main mission, as he suddenly glanced downwards...
-
Meanwhile, Carl who was watching everything was drenched in sweat as he looked at everything.
He knew that the battle in front if him wasn't something he could interfere with -- and the spatial cracks on the battlefields that could be felt even from his position confirmed his thoughts.
As soon as he saw that mighty dragon look down, he felt his entire being shudder...
He then frowned as he thought to himself: ' Why in hell would they be here? Isn't this world specific for us, the nefarious devils? Then what's this?'
Although Carl indeed heard their speech, that only explained the reason for their battle -- not the reason for why they chose the battle to he here.
He also confirmed that this world was indeed under the nefarious devils.
As he was frowning, he frowned even more as he saw the mighty dragon make a gesture he was too familiar with...
-
Back in the battlefield...
The dragon held his left hand, with the palm towards Carl, thumb and two fingers forming a circle, one finger half clenched and one finger fully stretched.
He was doing a certain gesture to place a terrific curse on Carl, who in turn too was familiar with how curses were done.
The energy violently rushed towards his palms, as the curse was successfully sent.
The curse was especially made for nefarious devils by the venerable ###### transcendent -- who was one with the heavens.
Its effect was targeting any nearby nefarious devils; thus eliminating the ability to keep reincarnating without dying.
The energy contained in it was pitiful -- as the dragon only had a little bit of energy...
After the curse went to Carl -- who in turn was stunned for a second as he didn't know how to react...
And even if he knew, he wouldn't do much as that curse specifically targeted the soul...
The world seemed to spin around Carl, and a sharp, throbbing pain took hold of him.
The pain was terrifying to the extent that for a moment, he thought about just giving in to the pain, letting it consume them completely as there seemed to be no way out.
But he gritted his teeth and endured it -- which unbeknownst to him made his will soar on levels...
The pain continued for a moment, before it subsided, enabling him to finally move.
He was full of energies though -- as after the dragon made the spell, he sent another attack, to at the very least severely injuring him...
As for the dragon, after it made the final attack it immediately made a portal; leading the other dragons with him.
The demons' side were too excited with their gains, that made them not care about it much.
But it wasn't the same for the ####### ancestral demon -- as he found something suspicious with the last movements of the dragon...
But he didn't do much, as he too, made a portal before leading everyone back to their dimension...
-
On the ####### dimension, where the venerable ###### transcendent resided, he was currently looking at everything with a happy smile on his face, as he said out loud:" Alright, time to reward that ####### dragon race! Being out the celebrations!"
That day, everyone on the ####### realm cheered happily, except of course the side where the primordial ####### devil resided.
But unbeknownst to all, everything had been planned by the primordial ####### devil so far...

The Big Yoink: A Smol Detective Story
This is another fanfic set in the universe of They Are Smol, a delightful series of stories which you should totally go read right now if you haven’t. It’s a sequel to my own The Smol Detective. In this story, Oscar Williams and his adopted alien family have to determine the guilt or innocence of another human and her two alien friends. The trio stands accused of stealing a sacred relic, and if it isn’t found soon an ancient religious cold war could turn very hot indeed… Formal Disclaimer Type Thing: I do not take credit for the original setting, this story is set in an alternate version of the 'They are Smol' universe, written by the one, the only u/tinyprancinghorse. TPH takes many forms and is known by many names. He is like Nyarlathotep, only smaller and cuter and more prancey. TPH also has a Website should you require more Smol Shenanigans in your life. Which you do, so get over there and read it. The cover art for this sequel again comes courtesy of the mighty Akella, and they deserve lots of headpats from giant aliens because they are awesome.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
