"The First Summoning"

To the setting sun, the servant worked nonstop

She saw the princess once, so fair and regal

She compared how different the royal's smile was; her back turned, the smile drops

The fatigue in her face visible in the darkness, it is fatal

Sick of her expression, the servant went against protocol; to make her highness feel better, she made her way to the royal, hitting lightly on her shoulder, being inconspicuous by holding a mop

"Your highness, come with me," she said; the lady so fair looked confused, so the servant continued, "If you don't wish to come, you may stay 'till."

The princess could've stayed, she could've ignored the servant, but her betrothed walked her way and she made up her mind

She turned to the maid, and nodded her head, letting herself be led away

The maid took her wrist, maneuvering through the ball with ease, not looking behind

To her secret garden, the maid took the princess; the candles shining in the moonlight, the lake reflecting the stars, the princess let her eyes stray

From the beauty of the flowers, to the flourishing grass; but to her eyes, the maid was the beauty no one else could find

The time stopped, as if they were the only ones; she never wanted to leave, in this moment she wanted to stay
