《The Strongest Evolver》Sister's Tears

Yi Yun pretended to be surprised as he watched the two wardens let his sister and brother-in-law into his room.
His sister looked surprised for a moment when she saw his room, but when she saw him, she let out a sigh. He might get a good room, but the death penalty was still unavoidable.
He quickly sat down.
"Sis, you came," he said in a surprised tone.
He looked at his sister's hand which was carrying a food bag. Yi Yun could smell delicious cooking from it.
He also looked at his brother-in-law and nodded at him.
The man is 180 cm tall, so in terms of height, he matches his older sister who is almost 170 cm very well.
They were around 32 years old, 4 years older than Yi Yun.
"Are you hungry? Eat first!" Said his sister as she put the food bag on the table.
Of course, Yi Yun was so hungry, he felt like he wanted to jump to devour the food in the food bag. But that would make him look weird.
He pretended not to be excited.
His sister approached him and then sat down beside him. "Let me see your hand," she said.
Even though she was a bit cold, she was obviously very worried about his condition.
She may be a loner type of woman, but she really cares about her family.
She sometimes scolded Yi Yun when he caused trouble, but when the matter couldn't be solved by Yi Yun, she always stepped in to solve it.
In Yi Yun's eyes, she was the perfect older sister who always tried to help her brother grow up. Saying that she is like his mother is also not an exaggeration.
Yi Yun then extended his right hand to her. She took his hand and then checked his pulse. Her expression was quite serious, but after a while, she couldn't help but be surprised.

"Your pulse is very normal, it's even better than most people," she said.
"What about your asthma?" She then put her hand on his chest.
Yi Yun had not felt his asthma anymore since he became an evolver, his breathing was not only stable, but also very comfortable.
After a moment of touching his chest, his sister was shocked once again. "Your heartbeat is also very normal."
She then looked at his face, more precisely his life, it seemed that she wanted to see his breath.
"Ehmmm," Yi Yun cleared his throat. "I slept very well last night, it made my body fit again." He could only make excuses for it.
It was quite surprising to his sister, she then looked around.
With her personality, she definitely wouldn't stand still looking at a prison cell like that, if she had known, she might have reported it.
But today it was her younger brother who was the victim, for the sake of her brother's convenience, she preferred to pretend she didn't know anything.
"Your body is in very good condition, you must eat to stay healthy."
Yi Yun nodded, he was about to stand up but his sister suddenly stopped him. "Just here," she said.
Her husband then carried the food bag to Yi Yun's bed.
He helps remove the food in the food bag. They consist of hot porridge, fried chicken and fish, and Yi Yun's favorite spicy chili sauce.
Yi Yun felt extremely hungry just by looking at them.
"Thank you," he said to his brother-in-law.
He was in a very good mood, even better than being an evolver. Having a family to take care of you when you fall is probably the greatest happiness a human can feel. But how many humans can feel that?
Now he thought that even if he was really sentenced to death, he would not feel any regrets.

Of course, that couldn't change his ambition.
While eating, Yi Yun asked his older sister many things. He asks about their mother, but she doesn't answer much when their mother is mentioned, so he asks more about her work as a doctor. Of course, he also tried to ask about her marriage.
"Come to think of it, I actually still don't know how you two started a relationship?" Yi Yun asked as he looked at his brother-in-law, Tang Shan.
The man smiled as he glanced at his wife.
Yi Xin who was sitting beside Yi Yun suddenly patted Yi Yun's thigh. She said, "it's our privacy, don't ask that."
"..."
"Hey, how is that called privacy, I am your brother, I have a right to know."
"But I won't answer." She looked at her husband with narrowed eyes, seemingly threatening him into not saying anything.
Tang Shan smiled helplessly at her gaze.
"There seems to be a story behind your relationship?" Yi Yun still couldn't stay still.
"Sis, I used to worry that you wouldn't find a man to marry, but one year ago you suddenly brought a man to marry you. With your personality, there's no way you'd just pick a random guy."
"Oh, at least before I die, I want to know how your love story was built."
"..."
She was silent for a while before nodding, "okay, then I'll tell you before you die."
Yi Yun "..."
"How cruel you are, sis."
Yi Yun deliberately started joking because he wanted to lighten the mood. He could tell how sad his sister was behind her calm expression.
But his intentions may not be entirely successful.
His sister suddenly pulled his hand towards her, she then used her other hand to pull his head towards her chest, and leaned it against her chest.
She sighed before stroking his hair.
What she did was a bit overdone so Yi Yun was taken aback. If she did it before he was executed, it would still be logical, but.
Yi Yun couldn't help but feel suspicious.
"Sis, what's wrong?" Yi Yun asked while looking at her.
He glanced at Tang Shan and found the man turning his gaze in another direction. He seemed to want to hide his expression.
"Yi Yun," he heard his sister's voice. This time her voice trembled. As Yi Yun looked at her face once more, he found tears falling in her eyes.
Yi Yun didn't even remember when his sister cried, but today she really did cry.
After all, she was already 32 years old, even the death of their father didn't bring her to tears.
Yi Yun started to guess something.
'Are they going to execute me today or tomorrow?'
Execution is usually done at 00:00. But that's usually done 1 or 2 months after the court's decision.
However, sometimes there are cases where the execution is accelerated.
Of course, it happened due to factors behind the scenes. However, there is no rule as to when the inmates will be executed. As long as the court unanimously decides that the prisoner will be executed, the party in charge of carrying out the execution can execute whenever they wish. For people with extensive networks, they can even delay their execution.
Yi Yun naturally panicked.
The problem now was that he was still not ready to run away.

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic

The Crimson Castle
This is a LitRPG that follows Claire Woodward, A somewhat nerdy high school senior, who finds herself trapped in a video game, The Crimson Castle, she had just booted up for the first time. The Low Magic Fantasy World of The Crimson Castle is unlike any other. The world consists of only two things, the walled city of Dal and the wilderness that surrounds it. Each night, the wilderness outside of the city disappears and for five minutes the world trembles. Once the five minutes are up, the wilderness reappears, but it is always different from any previous' day wilderness. This means each day the city of Dal is surrounded by something new and exciting. Sometimes, the city of Dal finds itself on top of a snowy mountain, the next day in a foggy swamp, the next day after that on a tropical island, and so on. Inhabitants of Dal that go out into the wilderness are called adventurers. The further adventurers get from city of Dal, the rarer the loot they will find, but also the more treacherous their travels will become. Do not worry though, it is impossible to die in the wilderness. If your health reaches zero you will transported back to the city of Dal alive and well. Will Claire be able to figure out why she was transported into this world, and better yet, will she be able to escape it?
