《The Prophecy Of The Four Kings》Chapter 20

"Hey....hey.....Aluric....ALURIC, get up its morning", the guy sitting next to Aluric, in the boat said,
Aluric rolled over and looked out at the water, it was covered in a thick fog, he got up, and folded his arms in front of his chest a slight grin formed on his face, his skin was a soft brown, causing his face to appear very youthful, his pure white long sleeved trench coat almost blended in with the thick fog but the golden crosses on it were shining though barely, his boots were red and stood out the most in what he was wearing, and all you could really see was his bright red hair, that was plait in a ponytail running all the way down to his lower back,
"Pix, row us to the island, it's time to have a chat with an old friend of mine", Aluric said, the grin on his face widening as his eyes filled with excitement,
“how are you this excited, when you just woke up”, Pix said,
“well yumi took interest in these four guys, so they must be strong”, Aluric said,
“still doesn’t explain your excitement”, pix said,
“really pix, you of all people should know, how exciting it is to know you might have a good fight on your hands, plus its been a while since I fought someone I didn’t immediately put into the ground”, Aluric said,
Pix, the other guy that was in the boat, grabbed a hold of both paddles, his body mostly covered with a cloak, began rowing, all the while Aluric stood with his hands still folded at the front of the boat,
“fine, but I’m staying on the boat”, Pix said,
Back on the island
Polaris sat on a huge boulder, near the edge of the island looking out at the foggy water, listening to the waves crash on the shore, the sound of the water provided a calmness for him, he wondered if it had anything to do with his affinity for water due to his blessing,

He was remembering, his childhood and how hard his step father had been on Him, all of the strenuous and rigorous training he had been put through, how he was beaten for failing to complete tasks or when he expressed his thoughts of freedom, zaraar had only become his step father due to fact that his brother, and polaris’ true biological father had died, shortly after Polaris had been conceived, and zaraar had stepped up saying that he would take in his mother, and help raise him,
He remembered a specific day, that day his basic training for using his blessing had finished, and the elders informed him that he was now able to accompany the senior members on enforcer missions, Polaris was no more than ten years old at the time, he was a little excited at the thought, as months prior barak had done his, and excelled to the point that he was given minor missions to handle on his own, he also remembered the look on zaraar’s face, that wicked grin that was painted on his face,
That same day, was when zaraar took him to that all too familiar dungeon, to one of the lowest levels, in a room lit only by the six torches that were placed onto the wall, inside stood a tree, a living tree, surrounded by a stone made altar, that had the symbol of the goddess junorra engraved on it, and on top of the altar sat a mask, a mask that he became all to familiar with, in the coming years,
Then he came back to reality realizing that someone was walking through the water,
He got up, standing on the boulder, he placed his hand on his sword, the person walked onto the shore out of the fog, he immediately locked eyes with Polaris,

Smiling he said ,"ahh, I wasn't expecting to meet someone so soon, I'm looking for my friend",
Polaris gripped his sword tighter, and who is you friend ?",pol asked,
"She's about yay tall, dark skinned, loud mouthed", he said, gesturing slightly below his chest,
"And she goes by the name yumi", he concluded,
"Oh.....her", Polaris answered reluctantly , slowly lowering his guard and letting go of his sword,
‘I can tell he is strong, not to mention, he came to this island by himself, this early in the morn…., wait a minute, the boat from last night, he might’ve been on it, staking out the island, which means he still approached knowing that all of us were on the island, its best if I get the others involved’, Polaris thought to himself,
"Well follow me, i'll take you to her", Polaris said, gesturing with his hand to follow him,
“well I’m surprised you’re so trusting of a stranger, you must’ve lead quite the easy life”, Aluric mentioned walking up to Polaris,
“hardly”, Polaris scoffed under his breath,
The two headed towards the trees in the direction of the hideout,
The walk towards the hideout was quiet, Polaris walking a cautious distance away from the unknown person, with every step polaris grew even more cautious, as something felt off about this whole situation, he slowly placed his hand back on his sword, he felt as though this man behind him was impossible to beat on his own
Suddenly polaris' jolted up, he saw levant walking in his direction, Polaris sighed with relief, feeling as though a weight was lifted off his chest,
"Ohh, Polaris I was just looking for...." Levant stopped what he was saying,
"Pol who is that, behind you ?" Levant asked,
"He said he's a ‘FRIEND’ of yumi's", Polaris answered,
“and you believed him just like that”, Levant questioned, slamming his palm against his forehead,
“yeah sure I believed him”, Polaris answered, gesturing the hand that was on the sword so that Levant would take notice,
"Ohhh, okay then", levant stated, throwing his hands behind his back reaching for his guns,
“POL DUCK” Levant shouted, pulling out both of his pistols,

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Rise
20 years have passed since the Chaos Energy Quake rippled through the Milky Way Galaxy. During the year-long Quake, Chaos Energy became unusable, rendering much of the galaxy’s technology useless, and preventing Chaotics – beings who possess supernatural abilities – from using their powers. The galaxy has since moved on from the Quake, but to this day no one knows what could have caused it. The only broadly possible hints lie with the woefully few Chaotics born during the Quake, such as the seven Chaotics born on the world of Nimalia, homeworld of the Nimalian Territories. The other galactic civilizations see little correlation between the Quake and those born during it, but now that the seven have reached the age of 20, some Nimalians think they may be able to finally learn exactly what caused the galactic disruption two decades ago…

The Awakened
Mark was a data analyst that had recently landed a job in a company and his life was pretty normal if not a bit boring through upon meeting a mugger in an alley his life had a drastic change not neccesarily for the better. He stopped being a sleeper and saw a glimpse of the true form of the world which opened his eyes to a new life altogether. ============================================================================================== This is my first fiction and i am loosely basing this on Mage:The Awakening rulebook. Naturally i am going to change things a bit but i don't intend to make this a novel where the main character goes around changing the whole world. It will be based on a normal guy discovering a new world while trying to find his place in it. Also please write comments warning me about things such as development speed or unrealistic relations.

Sometimes my voice dies in my throat, buries itself beneath waves of crippling suffocation, burns itself out as cold hands tear at my laced skin. I have smiled while my eyes have cried and pleaded, my wrists numb, my lips wobbling and blue, and stars escaping this dark night that I'm trapped in. I long for a darkness that gives way to light. But I do feel the warmth of petals gathering and scattering in my cold bones, and imagine the touch and the sweetness of a kiss, and my heart rises to the surface of this sea and finds a sky painted by passing artists remaining far above our heads. I'm breathing out all the words I've kept locked under the pages of my breaking mind. And by doing so, I'm going to heal.TRIGGER WARNINGS: depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts, OCD, panic attacks
