《Ancestral World: Memorial Clouds》Chapter 5

[Arc I-Life Ruled By Peace?]
The sky was getting even more darker with the dark clouds covering the area above us. The wind was getting stronger. It will rain heavily. Tachibana was very concentrated and not letting anything distract her at all.
Even if it started drizzling, she still was focused on me, looking at me intently. Her face showed that she was curious on what my ability truly was.
Though a problem occured when I was looking at her, I did not know what her ability was. She was fighting me with her daggers all the time so that made me cautious.
"Tachibana-san."
"What is it?"
"Are you thinking to win against me? What do you think are the odds of winning then?"
"I won't know much depending on what your so-called 'The Traveller' is, I haven't seen it after all."
"Then I shall answer my own question. Your chance on actually winning against me are completely zero."
"What.....What do you mean by that?"
"I mean exactly what I said." I said it confidently with a smirk.
"Now then what are you going to do, Tachibana-san? Are you going to surrender or not?"
"I can't afford to fail this mission.....so I must win no matter what." she said that as she looked down to the ground and the puddle of water from the rain reflected her face. "If I fail this mission, I am nothing but a failu-"
"You are never a failure! You are a living person, not some soulless being!"
When she heard that, she instantly looked up with her eyes being hopeful for a bit. But after a while, her eyes went back to a soulless pair of eyes. I almost succeed
on convincing Tachibana-san with a peace talk but well that is too bad I guess. Is she being manipulated by someone....I don't know but I knew in that moment, her eyes filled with hope for a moment had shown me that she wanted freedom. She wanted to live her own life just like me.

It seems that both of us wanted freedom too.
"Tachibana-san. Remember a standoff back in Inari Village?"
"Don't tell me....you're thinking about that?"
"Yes. If I win, you shall obey and listen to what I say forever and if I lose, you can do whatever you want with me. Kill me, bring me back to the village...Do you agree on these terms?"
"........" She was struggling on whether she wants to accept or not.
"Well? What do you think? It is a fair rule after all."
"Okay then......*inhale* *exhale*....I accept the conditions!"
We both took our fighting stance to show that we were ready to fight. I won't go hard on her. If I did, I could seriously kill her in one hit.
A heavy wind breezed passed through us and the thunder strucked near us. In a blink, Tachibana-san dashed to land her first move.
""
I was surprised when she used her ability. I did not expect that it was wind and that she had a great wind related ability. I was curious on what type of wind ability was she having.
Unlike Astrals Magic which is consisted on one type only, Advants has different types of it. For an example, Person A and Person B had a fire ability but Persona A can only make a spark out from his fingers
while Person B can only fly using the fire that is generated from his hands. Tachibana-sans used both of her hands to summon a medium sized circulatating whirldwind blade and threw it at me on high speed. Judging by that, she most likely
has the ability to concentrate wind and change it into objects that she had imagined freely.
"Did I hit...." She asked herself.

"Damn it, I didn't hit him at all." She confirmed herself.
"That really was an interesting ability that you have Tachibana-san."
"Aren't you being a coward for just dodging everything?!"
"I see....so you want to end it right here, right now. Then I shall bring you in."
"Wha-What?"
Her expression was confused and also worried as she wondered what I meant. She knew that I was very strong to begin with but she had no single clue on who I truly am. The barrier is going to disappear soon which
gave me a great chance then. For the entire time, I had just been waiting for the barrier's duration to finish so I can use it.
"Tachibana-san! Within a minute, I have already defeated you."
"What are you talking about? The barrier is going to end....Don't tell me that you are just waiting for the barrier to end so that I can't fight you because of outsiders?!"
"You're not exactly wrong." I said that with a smirk.
"You-You.....I'll kill you right now before the barrier end!"
Rika's Mind-(The barrier is going to end in five seconds....I have to end this quick! Five...Four...Three...Two...O-)
"You're already in my range, Tachibana Rika!"
"I, Who Creates My Own Path to Freedom Shall Not Be Interrupted by Anyone Else As Long As My Ability Exist IN THIS VERY WORLD!"
"What...is this...." Rika said while gasping.
"Welcome to the Alternate Dimension of this town."
"Al...terna....te Dimen....sion.....?"
"Yes....You see, The Traveller is my {Entity Form} name, that is why people thought that it was my other name. My ability's name is Dimensional World: Ruler of Dimensions....

Divine Paladins, a title given to those who were blessed with the Lord's Favor, are the pillars of the kingdom of Calorin. However, a kingdom cannot simply be built from ideals of honor and duty. Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
