《Rising of the Red Tide》Chapter 13 (Part 5)

Han Xin walked out and got back into the car. Qi Jiguang was already there and they were awaiting the last of the Red Tide soldiers from the hospital.
"Let's go, leave a car for the rest of the soldiers, but we need to step on it. Qi Lian may be long gone by now." Han said.
Qi Jiguang hit the accelerator on the car, and gave the order to leave another car behind. The car whipped out onto the road and headed in the Qi Jiguang headed in the direction of Plattsburgh family health.
Han Xin was puzzled by human society in that moment. Why were there cars that even allowed the human to drive at all? Clearly these cars, being guided by advanced AI autopilot were significantly better at avoiding accidents than humans. And yet humans refused to fully adopt the technology, at least without the ability to take control. They placed the need to feel in control over their own safety. This was another piece of evidence to Xin that humans were inferior.
Sure Han Xin himself preferred to have control of the vehicle, but for a different reason. He knew that he couldn't order an AI vehicle to crash into another car for instance. And sure he didn't fully trust the system, but that was mostly the result of the knowledge that humans had programmed it. If a Red Tide soldier had been in control of the programming he would feel much better. This is precisely why the world needed his plan. The human race would go extinct if they simply relied on themselves. They needed a leader like Han Xin to guide them into the future, to tell them what to do. By eliminating most of the human race he would be able to destroy the political structure of the world and then reassemble it to his own liking.

The problem that Han Xin still hadn't fully solved was how to handle the fact that there were now Americans who were on the same level as Red Tide. Yes this had crossed his mind many times and yet he still had no solution. Perhaps these men and women would join him? They must recognize that they are superior too right? The could work together to form a ruling class of superior humans in the aftermath of world destruction.
This was a captivating idea.
"Whoa what was that?" Xin asked, after being pulled out from his inner thoughts.
"That was a van moving at high velocity sir. I didn't recognize either the driver or the passenger though sir." Qi Jiguang responded.
"Hmm that is interesting. How much time until we reach this Plattsburgh family health?" Han Xin asked.
"It is not far sir, less than 5 minutes." Jiguang replied.
"Let us hope we can finally put an end to this. I am tired of chasing Qi Lian. Have you heard any news from our travelling troops?"
"The first wave should be arriving within a couple of hours sir. Some of them have already made it across the border."
"Excellent, we needed some good news." Han Xin said beaming.
Han looked around at the decaying buildings once more. While the trees and mountains in the area were beautiful, the town looked like a rotten apple to him. This was nothing like the Chinese cities he had seen. So many places were just falling apart. A further example of human inferiority in his mind.
"Towns like this will not exist under our rule." Han Xin stated to all in the car.
"We will take pride in keeping every building in good repair. This should keep the people under our rule happy." Han Xin explained to his soldiers.

As they neared Plattsburgh family health Han Xin noticed 5 SUV's leaving the parking lot area. The SUV's were new and in great shape.
"Hold on Qi Jiguang, nothing screams government more in a town like this than 5 brand new SUV's. I don't think there are 5 people in this town that could afford those cars. Proceed with caution." Han Xin ordered.
Rather than pulling in to the parking lot, Qi Jiguang pulled in to an adjacent parking lot. Han Xin looked closely, and saw several more brand new SUV's. He didn't even bother counting how many.
"Qi Jiguang, were those SUV's heading in the same direction as the speeding van?"
"Yes sir, they were."
"Call the others at the hospital, tell them to follow those SUV's at a safe distance until we can catch up. I think they may be following Qi Lian and Clayton Johnson."
"Yes sir, I am calling them now."
Then they watched as 10 more cars packed with soldiers left the parking lot and Qi Jiguang put the car in gear to follow along behind.

Keepers of the Neeft
The Indigo Empire has conquered half the world’s nations, their people, and their gods. According to its citizens, old and new, the rest of the world will follow. In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.

Sir Grace Wachinga, Order of the Hatchet
Grace Howard, a tough street girl in Virginia could become a knight -- if she survives her education. She learns to fight and be a refined lady. She finds good friends, vicious enemies, and finally love and family. The Knight Riding School produces young knights capable of protecting victims the FBI and other agencies cannot. Police policies do not bind them. Carrying swords, knives, and other medieval weapons, they wear bulletproof vests, and use their horses and wolves as fighting and survival partners. I post a chapter about every two weeks, not for the writing part but for editing but because the editing process is so demanding. I give great thanks to those who have helped me learn the art and craft of writing a story, so easily told but written in blood.
