Before The Call of the Wild
It was dark when Yuuko returned to her apartment. It was a horrifying day for the girl, she was assaulted, and she fought back. Her hand was now bandaged properly, luckily, the people at the clinic didn't question much. Yuuko Hanazawa could be very persuasive.
She wanted to collapse right here and now, the grip of that brute still fresh, the pain of the handcuffs ingrained in her mind. But the girl couldn't, her brother should be home by now.
His work hours ended earlier but he never returned on time, always after the moon was high above. Poor brother, he had to work to keep them afloat. Yuuko wanted to help, she truly did. But brother forbade her from doing any sort of part time work. Making money was his job. 'But what should I do' The girl asked, 'Just live like a normal life' He answered.
But it was hard being normal, she could see her brother withering away over time. The vibrant energy that he once had drained away to leave just a soulless husk.
"I'm home" The girl said as she entered through the door.
"Welcome back, why were you so late?" He was there in the living room, asking.
Yuuko was stunned, not by the question but by his expression. Brother was looking excited for something. How long ago did she last see that, years? She soon spotted him holding a book about origami, it was brand new but he already went through half of it.
The girl was disappointed, but she didn't know why.
"I tripped and fell down a stair while holding a bottle" She held up her bandaged hands.
"I see, be careful next time" Brother replied.
That was that, nothing more. He asked less than that bored nurse, too engrossed in that book about origami. The young man simply chalked her dirty cloths to the fall. No, it was not like brother didn't care for her, he was just stressed because of work, he wanted to read a book… the girl thought to herself.

"I already ate something… I will go to bed early tonight"
"Alright"
He didn't even look up to meet her eyes. The girl went inside her room. This apartment was quite a spacious one, she even had her own room. Brother worked hard for that, he cared for her deeply, he cared for her deeply, he cared for her deeply.
It was a lie of course, Yuuko hadn't eaten anything yet. But her body was already falling apart from today's event. She collided against the pavement floor quite severely. But the girl couldn't show it to the nurse, there was no way to explain that wound. Her side was all bruised, but she already swiped ice from a nearby shop to press over the it in an alley.
Yuuko changed her clothes but as she raised her arm, an unbearable pain shot through. The girl let out a grasp and started to tear up. She held her mouth shut to keep any more noise from going through. Luckily, only one drop of tear made it out. Yuuko chanted in her head.
"Yuuko is a good girl. Yuuko is a good girl. Yuuko is a good girl"

A Merchants Tale
Legends rise. Country’s fall. Empires wage war. But what supports these great powers, allowing them to function as a single organism. Is it the common man, Farmers and Millers forming the backbone of the land? The Soldiers and Guards keeping public order? The Wives and Widows supporting from the side-lines? The Nobles from their seats of power? Or the elusive Sorcerers who wield power untold? And what maggots crawl in this great creature, all trying to get a piece of its slowly decaying flesh. The gangs of the Underworld hidden in the shadows? The Bandits and Deserters hiding at the edges, ready to pounce on any weakness? Witches and Warlocks working their dark art? Or other Nations clawing at their neighbour’s, salivating over the riches they stand to gain from another’s demise. There is one group that belongs to neither group. They thrive on others misfortune and bring with them salvation and destruction in equal measure. They can raise a kingdom up or tear it down screaming and kicking. These are the merchants, the lifeblood of kingdoms, because what is the one thing above all else men crave. Is it Love? Power? Destruction? All these things can be acquired with one simple thing. Wealth. Wealth is the true power behind the world. Wealth can buy army’s, strangle kingdoms, and turn even the most devout man from his faith. Merchants come in many forms, shapes and sized, some gaudy, bleeding the people for all their worth, some tricky, preferring to make contracts and debts to trap men. And some desperate, doing all they can to sell even the most worthless of junk. This is a story of one merchant who goes against all a merchant stands for. He works not for profit but for some unseen goal, a prophesy aeons old. He comes and goes like a ghost, bringing with him hope and victory. All pray for his arrival to spare them from despair. But what about when he doesn’t show? What about the people he doesn’t save? For this man is no angel, no saint sent to save the masses. His goal was never to deliver hope. It merely isn’t time for their destruction yet. For nothing is eternal. And all things must end. But what comes after? Quick disclaimer in response to the review I got, this is my first story and somewhat of an experiment for me, hopefully my writing will get better the more I practice. Thanks for any helpful advice :)

Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.
