Chapter Twenty: All the Time in the World
*~*~???~*~*
“That damn fool!” The woman kicked the body on the ground in front of her. His blank eyes stared up at the ceiling as she kicked him once again. The vampire had been dead for several hours but the action calmed her a little. Considering how badly the plan had fallen apart, she had no choice but to get rid of evidence. She bit her fingernail. Too many things had needed to be destroyed: materials, papers, even some of her people. It was a small price to pay to keep other plans from falling through but it wouldn’t have needed to happen if things had gone as planned.
That fool ruined everything!
Her anger rose again. This was all his fault! All Eric had to do was follow the script that had been handed to him. But no. That fool had grown impatient and summoned the demon on his own. He just needed to wait one more day and the plan would have been a success. On top of that, he let the Guardian investigate the area she had let him borrow. Did he want her to admire his work or was he trying to be caught? Fool. She’d been forced to take disposal of the site into her own hands.
“Damn him!” The woman kicked the body once more before turning away. She bit her fingernail again as she paced back and forth.
Eric’s role had been simple. Thin out the vampires after he became a demon. That way the survivors would want to form a larger clan for protection. He succeeded in that, at least. The entire Westfall clan was gone now. She laughed as a cruel smile graced her lips. Of course in the original plan, he was supposed to have killed vampires from each of the clans. How he thought anyone would want to give him control of a clan after he’d killed his entire clan is something she would never understand. He clearly didn’t know how to use his people. Well, with only two clans left, there should be less resistance when control of this city fell under one person.

She bit her nail again as she thought over her other problem. Her Master was starting to look in her direction. He hadn’t caught on yet but it would only be a matter of time. Even with her precautions, there was only so much she could hide. Her Master would figure it out eventually. She needed to finish her tasks before he realized what was going on under his nose. A mocking smile curved her lips. The man thought he knew everything but even he was unaware of how far her plans had come. Still she couldn’t underestimate him. She needed to do as much as possible before she was discovered.
Several deep breaths were taken, as she worked to get her emotions under control. The woman was good at hiding her emotions from her Master but she shouldn’t ruin things by letting her emotions run wild. She didn’t need her momentary anger causing her Master to wonder what she was doing.
Still this was what happened when she worked with someone who didn’t use their brain. If he had followed the plan, Noah and Adrian would be dead. That interfering Guardian would’ve been dead as well.
Dammit!
Why hadn’t Eric been more useful? With the amount of power he had, killing the Master of Stone Oak should have been easy. Only one good thing had come out of all of this. Eric was dead. The Guardian had done her a favor by killing him. A demon possessed vampire was not needed for the next phase of the plan. The woman bit her nail again. That human would be getting special treatment from her. The plan had suffered several setbacks because of her. Yes, she would think up something truly special for the Guardian.
The real problem was Noah. Now that he had been freed of the spell, the man would be on his guard. Getting him to walk into another trap would be twice as difficult. She sighed before checking her watch.

The woman stood up and tipped over a container that had been sitting by the doorway. The smell of gasoline filled the room. More containers were tipped over, as she moved from room to room. The woman stopped and watched as the gasoline drenched the floor but she was careful not to let any of the liquid reach her. One last check was made to make sure that the papers she’d thrown on the floor soaked up the gasoline before she headed towards the front door. At this time of night, it should be a while until someone noticed a fire. A quick glance at her watch told her that no more time could be wasted. With her Master back, she would need to act carefully. Getting to the upcoming meeting late wouldn’t look good. She struck a match and studied the flame for a moment. A lot of her work was about to go up in smoke.
Oh, well.
The woman tossed the match behind her as she made her way out. Plans would need to be adjusted and some things would need to be done sooner rather than later but she would get the plan back on track. She had all the time in the world.

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.

This project has no purpose
Summary: This is the story about the life of a "human" amidst a world that only appears to be earth at first glance. Long ago the face of this world resembled the typical tales of yore; of knights and fairies, swords and magic, however such an era has come and gone. Even the world of fantasy has progressed steadily into the modern epoch filled with the wonders of science and technology! In the ancient times a certain crisis had occured that lead to the quick decline of various magical species. Due to their low population and general incompatibility with the other races they could not crossbreed to save their numbers. Left with no other choice the major races of the world gathered together in an attempt to change the fate of this dying world. Their only hope was a special 'world-tier' magic known as 'the dusk of harmony'. The result of this magic would dissolve every race into their purest essences known as 'aspect' and instill them within the human population. The humans were the best choice as their numbers were numerous and form was similar to most races. As such, the various races of this world managed to save themselves in essence and soul only, though perhaps there was no other choice. With the various humans now carrying the weight and aspects of those who came before, life has continued onto the modern age. Yet, even amongst these hybrids 'Pures' emerge from time to time, beings who have inherited not only aspects of the ancient races, but their forms too. These Pures are often times exceptionally talented and seen as near deities. This is the story of a perculiar boy who is born with the soul of a stranger from the world known as 'Earth'. With the memories and soul of a human, he too is a rare Pure; a pure human. --- This project literally has no purpose and is being written because I felt like it. There isn't any semblance of a solid direction nor have I thought about any characters aside from the main character and a few auxiliary cast. If you would like to contribute to building this world with me then please contact me through a DM or by leaving a comment, I will be sure to credit you.
