[Sissel walks down a corridor and ends up in the main space of college. It’s nearly empty but one table that has the Mad Tea Party currently surrounding it, not including Gary. The group are all surrounding the table, overlapping each other, with Tracey at the back looking over them.]
Vince: [concerned] We need to think of ways to protect ourselves and each other, the best idea I have is get something like a wrench or something. A bat! You know what I mean, get a weapon, just not a murder weapon. Okay, that went too far.
Leigh: [thinking] I don’t have any idea what this is telling me, is anyone good with computers? I’m not bad with computers… hey, any idea what he would use for a password? I’m kinda blanking.
Liv: [worried] If he’s going to be coming after us, we need a plan? Right? We can’t go in blind, somebody has to make a plan. If we make a plan then we should be able to get through to him. Hey, maybe we can just talk to him! That’d be nice!
Chelsea: [thinking] Vincent knows the guys schedule so it’s best that we try and get him during one of those parts. If we can’t then we’ll adjust the plan to get him when he’s isolated.
[Sissel moves up next to Tracey, who looks to him and smiles.]
Tracey: You took your time…
[Tracey looks back at the group and sighs.]
Tracey: [upset] I missed this. Good to be back.
[Sissel smiles for a moment, quickly fading.]
Leigh: [loud] Seriously, what’s the password?
Sissel: Caterpillar.
[The group all turn to see Sissel standing with them, slightly surprised. Liv looks at him and immediately back at the table.]
Sissel: He had an actual name, I can’t remember it. I think Absolem. Has someone got my notebook?

[Liv picks up his notebook from the table and chucks it over to Sissel, who catches it on his chest.]
Sissel: T-thanks.
[Sissel opens up his book to the page covered in words, quickly running his finger over the page.]
Liv: [confused] How the hell do you read that thing? We looked at it and it’s a fucking mess.
Sissel: [distracted] Yeah, I’m good with words...
[Sissel looks up to Leigh.]
Sissel: [quickly] A. B. S. O. L. E. M. Absolem.
[Leigh very quickly starts typing it into the computer, then smiles.]
Leigh: Yep, that’s it, we’re in. His “Private” folder, probably got some shit in there.
[Sissel closes the book, putting it under his arm.]
Sissel: Good, good… um… you guys have fun then.
[Sissel starts walking away from the group, Tracey looking at them. Vince quickly moves away from the table. In the distance, Gary is coming over.]
Vince: [loud] I was thinking that I should go check on Hyde, see what he’s doing and if we can get him.
[Sissel turns around as Gary gets closer.]
Vince: I’d appreciate it if you came, Cecil.
[Sissel thinks for a moment, quickly glancing at Tracey who nods. He sighs.]
Sissel: Yeah, I… I can come. Whatever you need.
[Vince smiles. Gary quickly makes it to the table, running around next to Leigh and pulling up a chair.]
Leigh: [with Chelsea] Hey man.
Chelsea: [with Leigh] Hi Gary.
[Gary waves for a second, getting comfortable and then looking to the group.]
Gary: So… Liv texted me saying that we’re all going to die. Apparently.
Sissel: [tired] Liv…
Liv: [defensively] What? We’re all in danger! You said he’s gonna try to kill us!
Sissel: [defensively] Yeah, I didn’t think that included Gary!

Tracey: Does Gary have a power?
[Sissel shakes his head slightly, Vince noticing.]
Liv: [defensively] Don’t you dare start-
Sissel: [defensively] I wasn’t starting anything!
[Chelsea quickly moves around to them.]
Chelsea: Can we not do this? Please? You don’t have to like each other, just… keep it to yourselves.
[Sissel nods, Liv eventually nods. Tracey looks to Sissel, worried.]
Tracey: [upset] Sissel?
Sissel: We, um… me and Vince are gonna go to Hyde.
[Sissel quickly starts to move around, Vince following by his side.]
Vince: Gary, you wanna come?
[Gary starts laughing.]
Gary: [laughing] Fuck no, I’m not getting a knife to my throat. Nah, um…
[Gary turns to Leigh, quickly taking the laptop away from him.]
Gary: I got this, I’m good with computers.
[Vince nods a bit.]
Vince: Well… see you soon then.
[Vince turns and starts walking off, Sissel following behind him. As Sissel walks out of earshot from the group, Tracey reappears next to him.]
Tracey: [upset] Seriously, Sissel.
Sissel: [upset] Not now.
Vince: Pardon?
Tracey: [upset] You and Liv, what is going on?
[Sissel looks at Tracey, looking at the ground. Vince looks at Sissel and frowns.]
Vince: You okay, man?
Sissel: [upset] I… I blamed Liv…
Vince: Yeah, I know-
Sissel: [annoyed] I’m talking to Tracey.
Vince: [concerned] Oh… right… hi Tracey?
[Sissel glares at Vince.]
Vince: [defensively] Hey, I’m trying to support.
[Sissel turns away from Vince, looking at Tracey. She’s visibly very upset.]
Tracey: [upset] Why-
Sissel: [upset] I don’t know… Really, I don’t. In my head, it made sense, but…
[Sissel sighs and looks down, Tracey looking at him.]
Tracey: [upset] When are you going to fix it?
[Sissel looks up at Tracey and scoffs.]
Sissel: I… blamed her for your death. You don’t get forgiven for that.
[Sissel turns back to look at Vince, but he’s gone.]
Sissel: [confused] Where did Vince go?
Tracey: He left when you said you were talking to me.
Sissel: Which way did he go?
Tracey: Probably after Mr Hyde.
[Sissel sighs and quickly starts running off.]
Sissel: [loud] Come on!
[Tracey starts to follow after, the two making it out of the corridor.]

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
