Despite the war, it seems as though business is usual. The Capital is still busy, business is still taking place and it doesn't seem like people are too worried. Granted, it's been going on for quite some time and not much has developed from it. Something may happen soon. I do hope this can all end quickly so we can all go back home.
We have two new friends joining in on our adventures. One's fine. Not causing any problems, unlike that one person we dealt with for a brief time. Having friends is great. Gives us a true group image. We're not a guild but at least we have each other. It's easier to move in a smaller group. Especially him and Spell get along really well. But the other is a big one and we just met him. Too soon to tell.
We had to do quite a few odd jobs for our money. You know how it is with foreign exchange. Only one was really important. A lot of ashes and smoke from that one. Quite literally.
It's not easy keeping track of where we're going, but when a lot of people join the war effort, it opens up a lot of jobs that need to be filled. And some important and others not so much. Best to keep an eye on the important ones before anyone else grabs them.

before the 1939-1945 War, most churches in England had stained glass windows, but despite local people's best efforts many of these windows were smashed in the bombing. What could be repaired was repaired, but in many churches all they could do was reassemble the remaining fragments randomly, with extra bits of clear glass added to eke them out to fill the windows. That is what I imagined for my collection of short stories: fragments of stained glass, bits of robe, bits of faces, all sorts of odds and ends randomly stuck together. And with quite a lot of clear fragments among the coloured ones. Just broken pieces of stories that anyone can look through.
