My true love gave to me…
Two different households
And one giant excuse!
"Come on Miki!” Amai yelled to his sister, she sighed and came down the stairs with her backpack on.
“I don’t wanna spend Christmas with dad.”
“But you want presents from him huh?” She looked off, “Look, we’ll be with mom on Christmas day so get over it for right now.” He said, taking her jacket from the closet and handing it to her.
“Fine, but are you gonna be there the whole time?”
“Yes, I don’t have any work.”
“Yeah, but what about that girl you like?” His face went red.
“W-why do you know about that?”
“Because she’s all over your phone, plus one time you fell asleep in the car and you were saying her name.” She said with a giggle.
“Geeze, well don’t tell anyone about it.”
“What? If you like her you like her.” He sighed.
“I’d really rather not talk about this with my teenage sister.” She laughed at him when their mom came out.
“Your father should be here in a few minutes, be good and on Christmas we’ll have a big dinner.” She said hugging Miki, her daughter looked slightly dejected. “Don’t be like that, but Amai be sure you guys are safe if you decide to do anything.”
“That’s exactly why I’m going.” He stated.
“Plus,” His mother got close to him and whispered, “Good luck with that girl, it’d be nice of you to get her something for Christmas.”
“Seriously?” Amai sighed, “Look you two, just leave it alone…” They both laughed at Amai’s expense.
...
In another home, the pair of mother and son sat around their living room table, “Well what does she like?”

“Nothing. She hates more things than she likes.” Terumichi explained to his mother. She huffed.
“I still say we just get her cookies or maybe a bouquet?”
"No, I really want to get her something special, something she’ll really love."
"Look at you, she must be really important to you." Terumichi chuckled softly and looked away embarrassed.
"Besides, she really doesn't like things like that. She's more into video games and stuff. "
"Ah, so she's a tomboy?" Terumichi laughed.
"I guess so; all I know is flowers is definitely not the way to go."
"Fine, but you said she likes sweets, so I think that's good to go with for now."
"You'd be willing to make some?"
"Of course, she seems like a sweet girl!" Terumichi laughed at his mother's joke before getting up along with her.
"Well, I'll help for sure!"
"Then come on, the faster we start the faster this will get done!"
