《Kyle》CHAPTER 4: Procedure Inside An Organization

“You see Kyle, only The Order’s staff live in central part of Frouis city. Noble from Elderam kingdom live in eastern district, noble from Isebet nation live in northern district and noble from Sheara nation live in western district. Anyone who have business with The Order will go through Order’s secretary first” explained Conrad.
“So The Order is not manage purely by wardens then?” asked Kyle
“Nah, The Order are divided into several parts,” answered Conrad as he continue, “You think wardens can go fight, keeping balance of the continent and managing a city? That’s like you try to work as labour at morning and guard at night”
“Yeah, that’s hard. I’m sure I will die of fatigue first rather than dying in battle,” said Kyle.
They then arrived at central part of Frouis city, which have huge white wall. Unlike Frouis city entrance, there were 2 booths in front of 2 gates. If Frouis city gate is large and always open, this 2 gate is only 3 meter high and always close.
He could see line of rich people on top of their horse and carriages in front of 1 booth.
The other gate is bare from any people. Kyle could see few people entering and going outside from it. Everytime they went inside, they will show round stone tablet in their hand to guards inside 2nd booth, and the 2nd gate will opened and closed automatically.
It was very fast process. They just rode their horse, stopping to show that tablet in front of the booth, and entering inside the gate without any tiresome procedure.
Kyle thought that he will used 2nd gate, just went inside without even lining while following Conrad.
“I’ll use 2nd gate. You need to line at 1st gate in order to prove your identity. Just answer any of their questions. Don’t worry, tell them you want to be apprentice warden and they will tell you everything you need to know,” and Conrad enter the 2nd gate alone.
When Kyle saw Conrad had entered inside 2nd gate, and looking at 1st booth’s line, “holy shit. This is the first time I have ever lined up for something.”
He then proceeds while mounting on his white horse. First 10 minutes, he just lay on top of his horse and the line move. 20 minutes later, he drums his finger on his horse’s neck and the line move. 30 minutes later, he rubs his head on his horse’s hair and the line move. 40 minute later, he play with his horse tail and the line move, again. 1 hour later, he drums his head up and down while singing rock song and the line move…once more.
He could see 1 carriage and 4 horses still lined up in front of him, and he shouted, “Fuckkkkk! Who the hell built only 1 gate for entering? Don’t they fucking think how fucking long this line is!”
Rich dressing noble neared him start whispering as they look down at Kyle,
“Look at that commoner, he seems not to have any grace at all.”
“Yeah, look at him. Look like a lowly commoner. What is he doing here?”
“He doesn’t seems to learned any social skill at all.”
“Can he just calm down, he looks like a monkey.”
Kyle just ignored their whisper as he hum a tune, ‘heh, if being a noble mean waiting in line like shit and try to pretend cool, I’ll rather be a rich monkey.

After waiting for another hour, finally he reached his turn. He jumped down from his horse and went to guards in front glass counter. There were 2 guards sitting inside 1st booth. They seems to write something on a thick document of papers. A guard then look at Kyle and asked boredly, “purpose coming to central district?”
“Becoming apprentice warden sir,” answered Kyle.
“Any proof of arcane art?” asked a guard while writing on new paper.
“Err, just that a warden saw yellow aura in my hand and said I have talent to become a warden,” answered Kyle while thinking.
“Is your father a warden?”
“Not at all sir.”
“Is your mother a warden?”
“Not at all sir.”
“Is any of your siblings a warden?”
“Not as I can remember sir.”
“Are you a noble or knight’s son?”
“Not at all sir, I am just a farmer’s son sir”
And both guards look at him with disbelieving eyes. They think he was just trying to play around.
The guard then asked while putting down his quill, as he think writing any further was a waste of time, “who recommend you coming here?”
“Errr, a man called Conrad sir. He was chasing after chaos user at Ragtown and saw me using arcane art when that chaos user attack me,” answered Kyle.
Then both guards start to discuss among themselves, ignoring Kyle who try to explained his circumstances.
“What do you think, I heard Chief Conrad went out before to chased after chaos art user at the border of Elderam kingdom.”
“I also heard that information,” He then use a magic ball on top of his table and said, “connect to secretary Myrell.”
After waiting for 1 minute, a woman voice could be heard from a magic ball, “what is it? I’m busy. Talk rubbish and I’ll tied you both on a wild horse.”
The guard answer hesitatingly, not knowing if it was a good idea to call her as they could just sent away Kyle before, “errr, we have someone suspicious madam. He-”
“Huhh?” asked the voice in angry voice
“We have suspicious boy miss. Sorry for that.” Answered the guard as fast as he could.
“Good. Who the hell…who are you calling madam when I’m not marry yet. So, what about that suspicious boy?” asked Myrell while changing her rude tone to gentler tone.
“Well, we have a boy called Kyle who-”
“SHIT! I forgot to tell you guys if a boy called Kyle arrived at your booth, you should let him enter. Chief Conrad said he make Kyle lined up at 1st booth to let him learn about patience and… is Kyle there,” asked Myrell as she just realized her mistake in letting out Conrad’s name.
SMASH!
Both guards felt shocked seeing their glass, which is reinforced by magic cracked as Kyle hit it with his fist layered with yellow aura.
“That fucking Conrad. How dare he make me wait for 2 fucking long hours,” said Kyle in angry tone and creepy smile.
Both guards who saw that smile felt fear in their heart. Luckily Myrell’s voice managed to break the ice, “I’ll be there in 10 minutes, you guys let Kyle enter first.”
“Well,” said a guard “you may enter Mr. Kyle. Sorry for making you wait,” and he pushed a green button making the gate immediately open. Kyle withdraw back his fist, which seems fine even after cracking magic reinforced glass, and pulled his horse rein as he enter through the gate.

Inside, Kyle could see few tall buildings standing proudly with their modern design. He then looked at the highest building among them, tallest than Frouis city wall and central district wall. This is the first time he saw a building higher than city wall, and he doubted there will be any building that could compete with it, be it their height or their design.
As the sun has set, and night has fall, he saw many magical lamp post separate only 300 meter apart. All the Order’s building have blue color light surrounding them, and even the wall emit blue color light from their bricks, making this district look modern as the lighting complimented the darkness of night.
When he was enjoying his view, a woman voice could be heard behind him.
“Excuse me, are you Kyle?” said the voice in gentle tone.
Kyle then turn around. He could see a woman in her mid-thirties, have light blond hair reaching her waist, wearing glass and have white skin. Not as pale and white as snow, but fair skin with olive tone. She also wears heavy makeup such as her red lipstick and some blusher powder around her face.
“Yes, I’m Kyle. Who are you ma-”
Buhhh!
Not even managed to finished his sentence, Kyle had been hit in his stomach.
“Who’re you calling madam, Huhh?” said the woman in frightening face.
“Sorry, miss. You must be miss Myrell right?” answered Kyle while holding his stomach in pain.
“I’m Myrell, The Order’s secretary. How nice of you calling me miss,” said Myrell in gentle tone and smiling face, looking very different from her earlier angry face.
“I’m Kyle, someone who came from Ragtown in order to be apprentice warden. I always want to be a warden to uphold justice and keeping this continent safe from evil force,” said Kyle in straight face, not even a hint of lied could be seen on his face.
“How good of you Kyle. It’s rare to see a teenager have such a big heart as you are. Right, let me show you around central district. Follow me Kyle,” said mad- miss Myrell as she walks, followed by Kyle and his horse.
“Let me bring you to this district stable first, as it seems your horse is very tired,” she said while going to a big wooden stable near the main gate. Inside, Kyle could see many noble looking horses and also few carriages.
“There seems less carriages here compare to upper and middle district, but many different kind of horse,” said Kyle as he looked around.
“You’re right lad. Mostly only guests use carriages here as staff and wardens usually use horse as they need to travel a lot. You seems to have fine bred horse there. Although not as good as what noble used, but still a pure bred,” said a man with slightly white hair and wrinkle face. He wears short sleeves shirt, a red vest and black trouser as he greeted Kyle.
“Right Kyle, this old man here is called Pierrot. He’s stable owner of central district. You don’t have to pay this old man anything as you are one of The Order’s staff. Right, your horse seems… expensive. Is it your family gift?” asked Myrell as she looked at Kyle appearance and his horse. The only noteworthy of Kyle is his axe and his horse. Everything else looks like a lower knight, be it his appearance or his armour.
“Nah, I don’t have that kind of family and money. Conrad gave it to me for travelling from my town,” said Kyle to Myrell and Pierrot.
“He gave it to you? Even he never gave anything to me as long as I have known him. How come that guy gave anything to you? I’m so jealous right now,” asked Myrell in shock.
“That Conrad must be seeing his past inside you lad, as he raise himself from fallen noble to become what he is today,” said Pierrot as he looked at Kyle.
“Yeah, I think so too. He manage to change his circumstances by working harder than anyone else from a very young age,” agreed Myrell while nodding.
“Conrad comes from a fallen noble family? How come I see him like a rich prince?” asked Kyle in shock.
“Well, I should not gossip about him anymore. You should ask Conrad if you have any doubt. Just know as rich and strong he is today, he make it with his own effort,” said Pierrot while taking Kyle’s horse away. Leaving Kyle and Myrell to do his job.
“Then, let’s continue our tour shall we?” said Myrell as she walked.
They then walk to most center part of central district, where Kyle could see 5 tall buildings was arranged uniformly. It was arranged by 1 tall building surrounded by 4 different buildings at it’s front, back, right and left side.
Myrell said as she stand in front of 1 building, which is same side as Order’s main gate, “this building is Order’s information center. Where my workplace are. Here, my job is head of secretary. All the information will be directed to me. When you become a warden, you’ll go to this building to receive mission.”
Myrell then walked in front of tallest building followed by Kyle, “this is Order’s headquarter. Where Master warden and wardens workplace are. Master warden job is to manage wardens and also Order’s staff. As I am head secretary, I will directly report important information to Master warden.”
Myrell then continue while pointing her hand to right side, “if you see on right side, that building is called medical facility. We have greatest healing mage here.”
“So healing is not arcane art? I though healing is arcane art as they heal body in natural way,” asked Kyle to Myrell.
“What’s your body is made of Kyle?” asked Myrell.
“Err, water and earth right?” said Kyle as he thinks.
“That’s right. Water mage can heal fatigue, stamina and can boost your body in fight. They also can replenish your blood lost. Earth mage can heal any cuts and regrow your body. Usually Earth mage only take few minutes to heal any sword cuts, but will take weeks to month to regrow back limbs. Mages that have both water and earth elements is called healing mage” explained Myrell.
“When Conrad chased after chaos art user, he said that chaos art user used blue liquid to stop his blood from flowing,” said Kyle in questioning look.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Cosmic Bulldozing Team
"Welcome to the Cosmic Bulldozing Team! CBT for short... references to any other acronyms are purely coincidental." Breve has one exceptional gift: an inborn potential for Resurrection magic. The cost? Every other healing spell she casts is absolutely paltry in comparison to the rest of her race, making her family outcasts within her society. That potential alone, however, classes Breve as a Rank A Healer. By what metric? Well, by the crazy elf lady who’s about to destroy her planet. Wait, what? Here's the low-down: her planet has been targeted by the Cosmic Bulldozing Team, which, as their name suggests, operates in the apparently lucrative business of destroying planets. This comes with the unfortunate side-effect of also murdering everyone who lives there. And Breve would’ve been killed, too, if she hasn’t unintentionally passed their audition for a new healer. Unwillingly saved by the people who just annihilated everything Breve ever knew and loved, she’s dragged into a massive spaceship before, without a moment’s reprieve, being assigned missions to sally forth and commit the same atrocities on other planets. And with Breve's home lying in a pile of celestial bedrock, it seems that cooperating is the only option. And she will cooperate, or so help her, they'll send her back whence she came: into the void of space, where the smashed rubble of her planet now drifts along. "Buckle in, rookie: you've got some planetary destruction ahead of you." (Updates every 2 days.)
