《Ex-Angel》~Ch.5~ Information

I walk slowly through the caves following the sound of Diane's sobs and hurried footsteps. I follow Diane for what ends up feeling like several hours, but instead of running to the exit of the caves, she ends up running deeper within causing her to get lost.
Following the sounds of Diane's now hushed sobs, I enter a dimly lit small cavern which was lit by small patches of glowing moss. I slowly look around the cavern looking for Diane and walk a little further into the room.
"Die you monster!" Diane shrieks as she leaps out of hiding wielding her lance attempting to drive it through my heart at lightning speed I try to sidestep to avoid the lance but end up stumbling over my own feet and the lance which pierces right through my heart causing it to burst in an instant.
I stumble backward and cough up blood slowly I look up at Diane to see a smile with a hint of insanity spread across her face, "Take that you f*cking monster, drop dead…" She screams as tears start streaming down her face again.
I look at her then back down at the lance pierced through my chest. I grab the shaft and slowly pull it the lance free from my chest, "Interesting… even though I got run through I didn't feel any pain…well whatever I'll deal with a simple matter like this later," I mutter trowing the lance behind me away from where Diane can retrieve it and walk towards her slowly.
All traces of the smile that once crept upon Diane's face had now faded as she fell to the ground muttering madly and was instead replaced with a face of pure fear and disbelief. Seeing the sudden change in her face causes a sneer to appear on my face and an overwhelming feeling of superiority to well up within my chest, where were these feelings coming from and why do I have them were all questions which lingered in the dark recesses of my mind but it was not something I could mull over right now instead I should focus on something even more important…gaining information from Diane.

"You think something like this could kill me? How insolent are all humans as stupid as you are, or are you and your partner…what was his name? Peter….Turner…no wait Charles? well never mind I don't really care, now stay there like a good dog and sit for your master," I say, or well I didn't say it but yet it was me… where is all this coming from and why is it happening now?
I stand looming before Diane the light completely drained from her eyes her body nothing more than an empty husk clinging to whatever shred of sanity it could in the far corners of her consciousness. I crouch in front of Diane and stare into her empty eyes, "Your completely gone now aren't you, well don't worry I'm not going to kill you… not yet anyways I need to ask you few things first okay?"
Diane simply sits there and doesn't even make the slightest noise so I stare at her firmly for a couple of seconds before asking again to which she gives a slow shaky nod.
"First question, What has happened since I left the city and tell me everything you know about the "Fallen Ones".'
"The city is in a current state of emergency with the arrival of a "Fallen One" and all sorts of hunting parties were assembled in an attempt of tracking down the "Fallen One" the nobles are all placing bets on which party or organization will be the one to capture it, as for my knowledge on the "Fallen Ones" I only know a few simple which almost anyone does, "Fallen Ones" are always incredibly powerful wither it be in physical or magical strength and usually whole subjugation parties are put together to capture just one. There is also the classifications of "Fallen Ones" is done by organizing them by their race, power, and level of danger as a whole."

"Explain to me these classing systems and don't hold back on whatever you know, I'll be very "upset" otherwise"
"Fallen Ones as I stated before are classified by race, ability (power), and level of danger, The main core races of Fallen Ones tend to fall under three main categories with some outliers and exceptions, but the categories are mainly the "Deity" which are usually some of the rarest and powerful group of "Fallen Ones" which in itself can be broken into three subcategories, "Major Deity", "Minor Deity" and "Semi-Deity" as their title suggest "Deities" are usually fallen gods stripped of their former power and cast off for one reason or another though a true "Major Deity" has never been successfully captured. As for the other two classifications, they fall under the demonic and monster classes. Demotics' as their naming suggest are usually evil or demonic beings who are the incarnate of chaos they too contain subcategory classes being, Devil and "Demon" classes individually with a huge power scaling difference in-between them and their own subclassing systems. The final category is monster class sometimes called the weakest of the "Fallen Ones" but in return, they are the most common found and usually the most balanced in terms of power."
I begin to start pacing around trying to grind the information I just obtained into something new and potentially useful to me, "Deities… does that mean there are other godly beings besides the one now…what caused these beings to lose their powers, why are they here, and how can I find out" I begin puzzling as I try to scramble the bits and pieces of information that I do know and try to put together something solid.
I hear the sound of choking that breaks me out of my train of thought and I whip around to see Diane collapsed over on the ground, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. I kneel beside her and force open her mouth and see that her tongue is bitten cleanly off, "She really bit her own tongue off, there was more I needed to ask her…"
I stand back up and walk to the entrance of the cave when I feel Myu waking up, "Master why don't you try absorbing her memories that way you can know whatever she didn't tell you before she killed herself?"
I pause and turn back around and study Diane's corpse for a moment. Can I absorb her memory? I don't ever remember having such a spell much less there existing one in the first place, then suddenly the works appear in my mind and I can picture them as clear as they were written before me. I walk back to the corpse place my hand on her forehead exhale and mutter, "Divine Knowledge: Memories of the Past" as soon as the words passed my lips my vision goes black and I feel my consciousness fade.
"Hey, Diane wake up! Anne is crying again!"
"Okay, Shawn I'm coming! Give me a second." I say as I get out of bed.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
