03: Hello, Strangers of Strange World (Margo II)

Margo blinked.

Again, again, and again – nothing around her made sense. She had been in her bedroom, preparing for a date with Mr Thorn (he had asked to call him “Vincent”, but she found she could do it only in the bedroom) when she had felt a tingle and a sudden light had engulfed her.

Now she wasn't in her bedroom – something that confused her infinitely as she looked around from her position on the floor (she vaguely remembered falling down before that light).

Strange men in even stranger clothes (clearly, no sense of fashion).

Strange men in even stranger room (a dark, but weirdly pompous place).

And, finally, a strange man that was coming in her way, wearing something out of a history book chapter about king Louis XIV.

- Greetings, fair lady, - he bowed and stretched out his arm for her to hold on and get back on her feet; she reluctantly accepted, still confused about this situation. - I am known as King Ayandel The Twelfth of The Great Green Plains, and I welcome you to these lands. -

King. King. King. King. – Only one word could be found in Margo's mind. Was this some kind of a joke? A dress-up party? Some sort of... what was it called again... cosplay event? - Er, yes, it is nice to meet you, too, - she answered, still confused and dazed.

After an awkward moment of silence, she kinda figured out she was supposed to answer with her own name (that definitely would explain why everyone was looking at her so intently). - I am Margaret Harlow from... the city of London in Great Britain. - Oh God, was this embarrassing!

- Your grace, if I may...? -

- Yes, do explain this situation to our most noble guest Lady Harlow from the city of London in Great Britain, - the king waved in his... subordinates, Margo supposed, direction.

- It has come to our attention that our neighbouring country of demons has... become more military active as of late, and we fear the worst, that the current lord has become greedy, that he wants more lands, namely, our lands that are far more suitable for farming, for the demons are an evil and greedy race that knows nothing but destruction. We want to prevent a war before it is too late, - the man explained; Margo, like a pokemon hit by a psychic-type attack, was extremely confused.

King. A country she has never heard before. Demons. Military active demons. A fucking demon lord.

What. The. Fuck. Was. Going. On.

Margo was hit by Confusion Ray. Margo is confused. Margo hurt herself in her confusion. – I kid you not, that was what was flouting around in a far-away corner of her head when she slapped herself just to now this wasn't a dream.

- And you, Lady Harlow, have been summoned by our magicians to use your otherworldly powers to eradicate the threat that is the demon lord, - king Ayandel supplied, oh, so helpfully.
