《My Journey as the Fox head clan》17. Snake man.

The snake man moved closer to Yilas and Berthort. Lyth even though she was still crying, she hissed aggressively at the man.
He looked at Berthort who was not moving, and then looked at Yilas as if he didn't know what to do.
"Please save him!" Yilas begged one more time, she couldn't let Berthort die here "anything you want I can give it to you, just please save his life, he is just a child."
Yilas held onto the snake man hand, besides desperation, Yilas was also really scared. She had just gotten to know the new family she had, she didn't want to say goodbye to any of them yet.
The snake man thought to himself for a while and then looked at Yilas in the eyes.
"Okay!" His cold, expressionless face suddenly turned into a big smile, even his long, small eyes were curled up nicely.
After the 180 mood change, the snake man held up his left wrist to Berthort's mouth and used the other hand's fingernail to make a slit at his left wrist. The blood gushed out quickly out of his hand, fell directly onto Berthort's mouth.
Yilas was patiently waiting for the snake man to be done, also she was checking on Berthort's reaction closely. Fortunately, it didn't take long for Berthort to react to the blood the man gave. His body turned back into his human form again and got significantly softer. Yilas thought to herself at least he was out of the danger.
Sighing out loud, Yilas could finally breathe again without any worry. Now she had to worry about how to take Berthort's giant body back by herself? She was already exhausted from all the searching and drowning earlier.
After treating Berthort with his own blood, the snake stuck out his thin, pinky folk tongue to lick his own wound, making the flesh closed in an instant. Yilas was surprised by the phenomenal recovery rate but she decided to keep to herself for now.
"Thank you for saving him. Is he going to wake up soon?" Yilas was the man nervously.
"Who knows." The man blatantly said, "He could be out for a few hours or a few days."
Hours? Days? They obviously didn't have that much time before the storm hit. Yilas must figure out a way to get them back safely.
"You need a shelter for the storm right?" Yilas questioned the man "if you want, you can come to our house."
The snake man opened his purple eyes widely, surprised that Yilas even made the offer. He thought she would just get angry and took back her words once he had treated the bear.
He thought for a moment and then nodded his head and smiled.
"Okay." The snake man seemed awfully excited to agree. Since his actions had always been strange ever since they met, Yilas decided not to give too much thought in figuring him out right now.
"Can you carry Berthort with your tail? I will lead the way."
As Yilas was about to drag Berhtort out of the hole when the man turned back into his giant snake form. Using his tail to curl around Berthort, his head went between Yilas's legs lifting her with his head.
Yilas yelled out of surprise but she didn't disagree with the treatment, she was terribly exhausted after all. Yilas pointed the way as she was sitting on the snakehead. The four of them went back to the creek and followed back to the house, within 15 minutes Yilas and Lyth could already see the house from the tall view.

As Yilas and the three got to the house, Viosus was still not back yet so Yilas sent Little crow off to find him from above. Merth, even though it was spook by the intruder, he got around to help to get Berthort onto a hay bed as quickly as Yilas asked.
The snake man didn't say anything when he entered the house, he simply went to into the main room where Yilas usually sleep and curled up in the corner.
Yilas didn't want to argue with the man, she went to place Lyth on her sleeping spot and asked her about what happened.
Lyth who was still in her little green snake form cried and cried as she told Yilas. Everything was pretty much like Yilas had anticipated. Berthort and Lyth were finding food for the bunch when they saw the sky turned black, so they decided to hide in that cave.
Unexpectedly, the cave was already occupied by the giant snake man. He ran them off the cave and even bit Berthort, who was trying to protect Lyth. Once they got out of the cave, Berthort couldn't move as quickly anymore. It was when Berthort fell down and stopped moving that Lyth brought him into the boulder nearby and covered him with leaves. She was scared that the snake man was still after them.
But once Yilas found them, she knew they had been saved.
Yilas softly caress Lyth's head calming her down and soon enough she had fallen asleep soundly in Yilas's hand.
Not too long after, the rained started to fall and Viosus and the Little Crow got back to the house. Even with the rain, Viosus could smell the strange scent right away so he followed it and went straight to Yilas's room and saw the Snake man there.
He snarled and growled at the snake but it didn't move, his eyes looked like they were open but his responses were none. Luckily Yilas got to him in time before anything bad could happen.
"Calm down Vio! I let him stay in there." Yilas said gently as she grabbed Viosus hand, dragging him out.
They were all sitting in the small and cramped room where the males usually sleep when Yilas explained everything she went through to Viosus, Merth, and Little Crow. The rain was letting down heavily outside, the thunder and lightning would occasionally strike.
At first, they were all against letting the snake man sheltered here but Yilas convinced them that he might not a bad person and what he did was only for self-defense so they reluctantly accepted her judgment, at least until Berthort woke up.
**
The sky was pouring for 3 days before it showed any signs of lightening up, and in those 3 days both the snake man and Berthort hadn't wakened up. Since Yilas had given away her bed, at night she would sleep next to Lyth in her little room. Yilas didn't complain about it either, as long as Berthort was saved, she would do anything to help.
During the three days, there wasn't enough food to go around so they decided to use the most nutritious food like meats to make soup for Berthort. The rest of them would eat berries and a small portion of dried meat that they had stored.
Yilas would bring a bit of fruit into her room for the snake but it was never touched. She thought he might have been dead if it wasn't for the constant breathing sound she heard.
Yilas was also often concerned about the four Boar's clan men. The rainstorm was dangerous so she worried if they had any shelter or if they had food. Secretly Yilas felt terrible for kicking them out as soon as the weather turned bad, she blamed her anger for getting over her head at that moment.

On the fourth day, when the rain had stopped completely, the snake man came back to life. He went out early in the morning to hunt and even brought back a deer.
When Yilas was woken up by the noise and got out of Lyth's bed, she had already seen the snake man standing in the yard, naked. He was gutting the deer with his bare hands, the scene was truly barbarous to Yilas.
"Hey! You finally got up." The snake man turned his head toward the sound, and give Yilas a big bright smile right away. He recognized her immediately.
"Yeah, come eat!"
From behind, Yilas had just now noticed this man was really tall, might be even taller than Viosus, who was around 195cm tall. Or it could be the fact that his body was thinner and his limbs were longer than the average person, making him look like a tall tree. If Viosus was tall and strong like a mountain, this man would be the ocean. His body seemed sturdy and hard but it also possessed a natural soft flow, like somehow he was very flexible.
Looking at his thin back, Yilas could even see some of his ribs, moreover, his back was covered in scar marks too. It made her unconsciously remembered her body in the previous life, she was just as thin as this man. Yilas heart softened as she felt a strange sympathy for him. She secretly sighed as she thought about how hard his life must have been.
She went into the house, grabbed a piece of fur clothing, and gave it to the snake man. She couldn't stand him being naked any longer, especially at the awkward fact that he had two genitals. It was still unbelievable no matter how many times Yilas had thought about it.
"What is this for?" The snake man turned toward Yilas, but she was quick to shut her eyes before she was blinded by the sight again.
"Of course it's for covering yourself, you can't just walk around naked." Yilas gently nudged the piece of clothes to the man's hand and quickly turned around so he could change.
"But I don't know how."
As Yilas expected, this man was nothing more than a big child. She sighed and turned around to wrap the piece of fur around his waist. It was a miracle, the fact that Yilas managed to do that with her eyes fully shut.
The snake man thought Yilas reaction was really cute, her eyes were closed but her face was like a red tomato. She looked just like a cute angry rabbit in the man's eyes. He wanted to hug her soft, squishy body once more but before he could do that, she had already taken a step back and opened her mesmerizing eyes.
He thought Yilas was very beautiful, even with the scar on her face, he didn't mind it. Her skin was so pure it looked almost transparent, and her silky white hair softly curved around her face making even more delicate. But he thought her eyes were the loveliest feature, every time he looked into her eyes, he wanted to stare at them forever. Since the first them they met, he had already thought she was a goddess that came to seduce beast-men, and his heart was unintentionally stolen at first sight as well.
After the clothes were put on, Yilas opened her eyes to a pair of shinny purple orbs staring attentively to her every movement. Yilas's face got even redder than it did before.
"Eh hem...!" Viosus came out of nowhere and broke off the lovebirds staring contest. He had just woken up by the noise and came out to this awkward scene. He didn't notice when the snake had woken up but it had already went out to hunt and even brought back food.
"Ahh... Vio!" Yilas's body jumped away from the man at the sound. Now the snake man really thought she was a rabbit.
"I was just fixing his clothes!" Yilas said nervously, covering her burning face.
The snake turned around to attend to the deer once again, not even seeing Viosus in his eyes.
"Milady, you can go inside, I will talk to the snake beast." Yilas immediately thought that it was a bad idea, looking at the frowning Viosus.
"No, no, let's just eat together and talk later okay?" Yilas laughed even though she was worried that Viosus might get the wrong idea and act hostile.
"We don't need his food, Milady. Since the rain had stopped, I will go hunt right now." Male beasts would never share their food, Viosus also wouldn't let a snake beast take care of the food for his Master. Viosus glared at the snake beasts but it didn't notice, however, Viosus knew that it could sense the killing-aura from him right now.
"No need." The snake beast said loudly "I will share."
Yilas was shocked at how generous this man was, Viosus was also surprised but he recomposed quickly.
"Don't! We don't need your pity." After what happened with Porsogon, he grew more sensitive toward his pride. He already made a promise to himself to take better care of his clan from now on.
Viosus turned into a fox and quickly ran out of the house, he was determined to hunt for their own food.
"Vio..." Yilas softly called but he had already run out of her sight.
Yilas downheartedly sat down next to the snake man, watching him work on cleaning the deer. Yilas noticed his hair was really long and dark when it's not wet, it actually looked very silky and nice. It even shone like a big piece of black satin. Looking at him, she wondered if this was why people of her time usually said men are most attractive when they were focused on their work.
If it wasn't for the scarring, he would be considered the most handsome. All of his features were as perfect and elegant as a painting, his beauty was something gentle, a little feminine like it was exactly opposite to Porsogon's strong and manly attributes.
Although his hair was pretty, it was too long that it kept falling onto the meat. Thought it was unsanitary, Yilas plucked out a long piece of grass and went behind the man. She used the grass to tie his hair back into a low ponytail, keeping it out of his way.
Realized his hair was no longer bothering him, the snake man looked at Yilas endearingly. He thought she was really thoughtful and smart. He stood up and squeezed her soft body as he felt happy that she cared for him.
"Eeekkk!!" Yilas let out a scream as the blood on his hand touched her. He even squished his cheek against hers, if anyone were to see the scene they would have thought they were a cute couple.
"You can't just pick me up and hug me all of a sudden!" Yilas yelled.
"Why can't I hold my female?" The snake man let Yilas down to her feet and looked her in the eyes without blinking. He looked like an innocent child, really didn't have a clue of what he did wrong.
Baffled by his words, Yilas jaw dropped on the ground, her eyes opened even wider than the letter O.
"Who? Who said I was your female?"

The Factions of this world endlessly fight for power, this fighting called the Great Wars, a war that has been alive for over four million years. Currently, one of the largest Factions has withdrawn from the endless fighting. This Faction, known as the Kingdom, hopes to forget their past of endless bloodshed and how they were almost destroyed because of it. In the Kingdom, Princess Isalene, the only princess of the Kingdom, is stuck choosing a new personal guard after her previous one died. Despite her father, King Robert, helping her choose a new guard, Isalene decides to head to the arena to see how the knights on the list her father gave her act outside of the eyes of royals. When she arrives at the arena, she sees a knight fighting that is not on the list her father gave her. Named Cruel Knight, this knight is a vicious knight with confusing morals. Despite hating violence, Princess Isalene can't help but be drawn to the knight and their graceful yet cruel fighting style and strange weapons. Princess Isalene continues to watch them and soon learns that Cruel Knight is a Warmonger named Sharia, and is female at that, meaning she is a prisoner. She isn't in there for something simple as disobeying a direct order or killing a noble, but for prolonging a war. Despite knowing this, Princess Isalene can't stop thinking about the Warmonger and suddenly gets a "smart" idea. She'll make Sharia her new personal guard to find out more about her! What could go wrong? And so begins the odd relationship between Sharia The Warmonger and Princess Isalene. One is a peace-loving sheltered naive princess who hates violence and the other is a vicious, cold, twisted, and cruel Warmonger who hates the kind of peace Isalene and the current Kingdom loves. Polar opposites. Yet, even the Warmonger can't help but grow a strange liking to her new "annoyance". But, can the two really get along? After all, Sharia's whole mindset sees Isalene as a waste, and it seems that everyone Isalene talks to tells her to fire Sharia before something terrible happens. But, then again, during this time of budding danger, this odd couple may be what the Kingdom needs. After all, when a large faction such as the Kingdom starts growing soft and weak, they become a rather irresistible target. [After thinking on it, I decided to start a re-write of The Princess And Her Warmonger, adding more details, fixing the switching POVs somewhat, and fixing some of the issues with the story. Don't worry, all of the chapters are still here, I am just making new ones and replacing the old chapters one at a time] (This story can also be found on Scribble Hub and Webnovel) [Cover art is not mine]
