"Could you guys please stop?" Max said with an annoyed groan "its getting old you know?"

"Aw come on Maxie, you're being totally not tubular" you said, and laughed a she rolled her eyes.

It had been some months after the halloween you and the party met Max. You, Dustin and Lucas still hadnt forgotten the 'totaly tubular' thing.

Max had made fun of the boys when it happened, of course. But they realized it annoyed her a lot. So of course, you didnt let her forget it either.

Whenever you were bored, youd just bring it up and place a bet to see which one of you could annoy her more.

"Max, Max, look at this dude and tell me if he isnt totally tuubular" Lucas said, pointing at a character in a comic book, and Dustin added "Max isn't in the totally tubular mood today, dude" and they both laughed as she just rolled her eyes.

Will, Mike and Jane went upstairs to get you all some snacks and drinks, which left you, Max and the two boys alone.

They were getting things ready to play d&d, you knew iut would take some time. Besides, they wouldnt start until everyone was there.

So you got up from were you were sat at the table on the basement and walked in Max's way by El's improvised bed, where she was readig a comic book with her back pressed to the matress spread on the floor with her arms up to hold it by her eyesight

''Knock knock" you said, and she turned her gaze to you "can i get in?"

She gave you a smirk.

"Fine. But no tubular jokes"

"No tubular jokes." you said, fingers crossed behing your back. "Just cuddles"

She smiled and gave you some space by her side

"So what are you reading?"

"Batman"

"Which Robin?"

"Drake"

"Good." you replied, and she chuckled. You couldnt help but notice how cute her laugh was.

You wrapped your arms around her an intertwined you legs together, than read some pages in silence.

Until you saw her gasp when something cool happened and found the perfect oportunity.

"Hey Max?" You said, supporting yourself in one arm to look at her

She turned around to you.

"What?"

"Look me in the eyes and tell me what Babs just did wasn't totally tubular"

She elbowed you and rolled her eyes "you said no tubular jokes!"

"I lied"

"Piss off!"

"But we're cuddling!"

"Fine. But this time, no more tubular jokes"

"You know I can't promise that"

"Why do I even love you"

"You just do. And that's totally tubular, dude"

She rolled her eyes (Again. This way you're gonna cause her to roll her eyes into oblivion) and kissed you on the cheek, grabbing your arm and wrapping it around her again.

She smiled and went back to reading while you went back to dividing your atention from the comic to her.

You found yourselves in a comfortable silence until Dustin yelled "That's my Y/n. Getting the girl. Totally tubular", and you got up to high-five him.

Lucas made some comment about how cheesy you and Max was and the four of you started bickering over who was the cheesiest.

The usual, if I'm honest.

It went for some minutes until Mike, Will and Jane came back downstairs.

"What are they fighting about this time?" Will asked to Mike as they walked, with a tone that gave away how often your useless discussions happened

Mike shrugged his shoulders. Didn't really matter. Those arguments were never serious anyways.

"Guys!" El yelled, making you turn to look at her "We brought Eggos!" she said, with so much excitement it seemed to get you all excited too, and, suddenly, the bickering stopped.

Priorities.

You looked at Max and grinned at her. She got the look.

You both got up and ran to where they were in a race to get the waffles.

She sticked her tongue out to you when she got one first and you smiled as all of you sat to eat.

"You two are such dorks" Will said, smiling to you "but youre cute together"

"The dorks must stay together" said Mike, and you sticked your tongue to him this time. He just laughed in response

"That must be why you're with Will"

"Hey! We all know the dorkiest dorks here and Dustin and Lucas!"

"What the Hell dude?"

And this started one more of the useless, stupid arguments you always had.

You smiled as Max was sat on your lap and Dustin started a tickle fight with everyone, still bickering over who were the dorkiest dorks of the seven.

Nothing out of usual.

But it was a night you knew you'd always remember.

Because you were just happy.

Happy because you had amazing friends who you knew would always be there for you, no matter how many stupid fights you had.

Everything about that night was just, well, totally tubular.
