Chapter 32 || Puke
Noah was the first to move. I followed after, but while he went to grab the note I turned around and puked like Niagara falls was coming out of my mouth. Sorry for the visual.
The sour taste of my left over dinner coated the inside of my mouth as I stood up straight and turned around to find Noah reading the note.
I kept my eyes away from the body and walked to where Noah was standing. Looking over his shoulder I began to read the note.
I gave you a chance. You denied it.
I gave you a present. You ran from it.
I'll give you one more chance to accept my offer before the fate of yourself, and your pack are a replica of the image in front of you.
- Lycaon.
I gulped.
The image of Noah staring up at the sky with lifeless eyes and blood covering his body ran through my head.
I turned around and puked again.

"What are we going to do?" I asked. We were sitting in Noah's truck again. Thankfully Noah pushed Tristan's body off the truck so neither of us had to look at him.
"Wait."
Sometimes I hated Noah. He could go from taking the time to explains something, and actually be polite, and then there was this side. The one word answer side.
I glanced over at him. He was staring ahead, jaw clenched.
We waited.

His beta picked us up.
Noah and I got out of his truck and climbing into the next vehicle. I looked over to the ford sitting in the snow, Tristan's body laying in the snow nearby it. The depths of the the note flashes through my mind again and i struggled to keep the remains of mu fluids inside my stomach. I glanced over to Noah who was situating himself in the truck.

"Are we just going to leave him there?" I asked.
"Yup, right where the fucker belongs" Noah's beta said obnoxiously.
"Um, what about his family?" I asked.
"They can suck on him when he's a Popsicle." Noah's beta said. He was a dick. I didn't know his name. I think I'll call him moody.
I looked over at Noah, "well I'm going to get him. If not for his family then for you guys, cause if anyone finds him lying on top of your-" I pointed at Noah "-truck then who knows what will happen. We need to at least hide the body."
Noah's beta rolled his eyes. He climbed out of his truck and around the front to Noah's truck. He swung Tristan's body over his shoulder and threw it into the back of his truck.
Moody got back into the truck, slamming the door behind him. He looked over at me, "Happy?" There was a sarcastic edge to his tone while he rolled his eyes.
Noah growled.
"Carsten, shut your mouth and know your place." Noah said, a deadly tone to his voice.
A shiver crawled down my spine. It was one of both pleasure and darkness. Noah's tone was utterly deadly, but the idea of him standing up for me was nice; making a blush crawl up my cheeks.

I knew they weren't going to drop me off at the motel anymore. This time I didn't have a problem with it though, the note was enough to get me anywhere Noah wanted to take me.
We were pulling up to what Noah explained to be the pack house, where I was taken in the first place. We all got out of the vehicle.
"Carsten, get the body." Noah ordered.
Me and Noah walked up the porch steps together into the pack house. Once we got in Noah took my hand and started leading me through the hallways till we got to his office near the back of the house. I remembered it. It was the boring pit of hell.

Noah went to his desk; grabbing a pen and paper. We didn't stay in there long. Instead we went through a door on the left side of the room joining a conference room to Noah's office.
The table was filled with young and old. There were a few I knew, Noah's Dad, and one of his brothers and Noah's Beta.
He was quick.
Noah's hand was still tightly clasped around mine, and he bent down and whispered in my ear, "We're having a meeting to discuss Lycaon."
I nodded.
I would have suggested me leaving, .meetings really weren't my thing, but I was worried. Lycaon's threats were still heavy on my mind.
Noah led me to the head of the table. The room was darker, and the furnature was hardwood. The table was set up so that two chairs could be at the very end. Noah and I sat there.
There were three chairs on one side, and another three on the other side. There was nobody on the other end.
Noah began the meeting by reading the letter from Lycaon. There were no gasps of astonishment, just nods and a slight tinge of fear appearing in their eyes.
But that was as far as we got.
No more words were spoken by the individuals in that room, because the banging on the door silenced us all. And when the door was finally opened there was a man standing there.
"Upon your request, Alpha, we have Tanner, and Treesa Hunter. They are waiting in the cell."
Another update! Yay! Sorry its so short :/

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
