I didn't realise it was almost dinner time and I was still busy colouring the princesses with Ruhi. I was enjoying my time with her. She is actually very adorable.

"You know I always trouble V to do these colourings with me." She said and giggled.

"Yess.. And I end up giving in to her request and colouring those princesses with her." Veer said entering the room and shook his head with a how-do-I-even-handle-her look.

Just the thought of Veer colouring Princesses with Avni made me smile.

The way Ruhi talks about Veer it is obvious he loves her more than anything and that just makes me feel proud of him.

I don't even know why?

"It is dinner time. Mom is calling you guys." He said to us.

"My little trouble go & help Tanu down there Mihir is troubling her." He said picking her up from the bed and keeping her down with a smile on his face.

I was just admiring him.

"We need to talk & this time you can't sneak out, runaway and ignore me." He said with a very serious face which left no room for arguement.

"I am not letting you out of this room until & unless you agree to what I say." He said and sat beside me on the edge of the bed.

"What if I want to disagree?" I asked raising my brows.

"Then I am not letting you out." He said shrugging and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Tyrant!" I muttered.

"I don't care. Call me whatever you want, you are listening to me now without any of the infamous Avni's tantrums." He said glaring at me.

"Why do you know me so well!" I whined.

How does he even know I am going to throw tantrums at whatever he says?

He sat on the edge of the bed with the same stern face of his.

Ohh I know that face!

He always has that face whenever he is going to give me a long long lecture for being reckless, irresponsible & what not!

"You are entering & leaving the office with me!" He stated with a look which clearly said Dare-You-Deny-It!

I rolled my eyes but nevertheless nodded.

"But I want to drive whenever I feel like. I am not going to always sit with you on the passenger seat!" I said to him.

"No"

"Yes"

"Yes"

We were arguing when Tanvi came in & asked

"Can you guys talk without an arguement?"

"You should put some sense in him!" I said to Tanvi.

She just shook her head disappointedly.

"I love driving cars & I am driving your BMW whenever I wish! If you agree with me then I'll go with you." I said shrugging.

"Fine! Stubborn brat!" He said rolling his eyes.

"Tyrant!" I muttered.

"You will have lunch outside the office only if Raghav or Me is present with you." He said.

And I looked at him shocked.

What the actual fuck!

"Otherwise I am not allowing to to take a step away from the office and no negotiation on this!" He said and I whined.

"See Tanu, now we can't even have our girls talk!" I said glaring at him.

"We can have it when we return here Avni." Tanu said rolling her eyes and left.

I just folded my hands across my chest & glared at him "Next!" I said.

"You won't leave the house without me or David. He is a very trusted bodyguard & Driver." He said.

"If you find anything fishy around you immediately infrom me!" He added.

"And the most important thing. Me , Raghav, Mihir and David's number should be on your emergency calling list." He added.

When is he going to stop?

I sat there with a bored expression.

"You are on leave for tomorrow. You need to rest." He said releasing a breath.

I picked up a glass of water from the bed side table and handed him.

He raised his brows at me.

"Have it! Your throat must be dry after all the talking." I said rolling my eyes.

He sighed and came closer. He held my face in his palms and looked directly into my eye. And I could see how worried he actually was.

But why?

Maybe because he blames himself for me being in danger.

But that's not true.

"You do matter. Even if it is hard to believe me. You definitely matter!" He said very softly and I whipped my head and looked into his eyes.

Wrong move!

Because there was sincerity in his eyes.

There were numerous emotions in his eyes which I couldn't identify.

If you don't look away right now, you are going to fall for him again.

This time it will be harder!

There was a knock at the door and we both got startled.

"Come down for dinner." We heard Raghav from the other side of the door.

We both got up & left for dinner.

I was in the kitchen with Aunty. Today was my day off so I was bored sitting in my room all the time.

I was baking cookies with Aunty. Just then Tanvi entered the kitchen.

"What is this heavenly aroma?" She asked sniffing.

"Avni just baked cookies." Aunty said gesturing at me.

She came to me and hugged me.

"Ohh my god! You are the best! I just love cookies." She said and was going to pick one but I swatted her hands away and glared at her.

She gave me a sheepish smile.

"Are you done with the cookies. Let's go. The guys are calling you. They need a badminton player." She said rolling her eyes.

I put all the cookies in the jar and got some in a plate for Ruhi.

"Why are you not playing?" I asked her while moving towards the lawn.

"Period Cramps!" She whined.

I reached to them. Ruhi was sitting on a chair while Raghav was arranging the badminton net.

"Do I smell Cookies here?" Veer asked coming from behind me and was trying to pick one when I moved the plate away.

"These are not for you." I said glaring at him.

"Ruhi will start whining If her plate has even one less cookie." I said to him and he pouted.

God! What's wrong with him?

Pouting?

"Avni....Don't give my cookies to him." Ruhi said as she came running towards us.

"Nope... I saved all your cookies from this villian!" I said dramatically and handed her the plate.

"What Drama I have in my life!" Veer said rolling his eyes and left.

"Guyss...how are we teaming up?" Mihir asked.

"Let Avni play with Veer. We'll play as a team." Raghav said to Mihir.

Veer just opened his shirt's top 2 buttons and then rolled up his sleeves.

He is smoking hooottt!

I just looked another way when he looked in my direction.

"You guys are going to lose absolutely. I have Raghav in my team." Mihir said patting Raghav's shoulder.

"Ohhh.. then probably you don't know that Avni is an amazing badminton player." Tanu said taking her seat beside Ruhi and holding her.

"I am on Avni's team!" Ruhi said munching her cookies.

"Did you forget me? I am in the team too!" Veer said narrowing his eyes at Ruhi playfully.

Ruhi just giggled at him.

"Let's start." Raghav piped in.

I took my position in the front as I play best at front.

We were absolutely leading and won the first round.

But the second round was won by them.

On the third round, we were at game point and whoever gets the point wins.

"Avni.. we need to win this. Otherwise I wouldn't hear the end of it!" He said.

"Ohhh... We are definitely winning it!" I said & winked.

Just then I dropped the shuttle in their court very near to the net and they lost it.

"Yaaayiieee" I said and jumped.

I turned around and was grinning.

And Veer hugged me really tight with my hands around his neck.

He twirled me around laughing.

"I told you we are winning it!" I said with him still twirling me and we both laughing a little too much.

Then I realised in what position were we and backed away. I looked away from him and put a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"Behaving as if it was the first time, I see!" Veer whispered in my ear.

I just glared at him.

And he smiled at me. The boyish one.

Damn!

My heart just flipped!
