《Only You♥️》Why me?

I was just going to enter Veer's cabin to drop some files but then I heard someone yelling.
"You cannot behave like this with me!" Trisha yelled on the top of her voice.
God this girl!
"You do not teach me that! Now get the fuck out of my cabin!" I heard Veer say and I gasped.
Why is he talking to her so rudely?
She is his fiance! He wanted to get married to her!
I knew it!
Something is definitely fishy!
"Why can't you just accept the fact that we are getting married? It will be better for you!" Trisha yelled.
"Leave right now!" Veer said and I flinched at his sharp tone.
He is fucking pissed!
When I heard footsteps approaching I just shifted aside. Trisha left the cabin stomping very angrily.
I opened his cabin door and entered. He sat there on his chair with his head held in both his palms frustratingly.
I just kept the files and was going to leave considering the fact that he is already pissed.
I turned around to leave and then I heard him call my name softly.
I looked at him and his eyes showed nothing but pure frustration.
What is he frustrated about?
Why is he marrying her if he is this frustrated?
I went behind his chair and started massaging his temples.
He kept his head on the headrest of the chair and closed his eyes sighing.
He looked somewhat relaxed now.
He held my hand and took me towards the couch, made me sit over there and kept his head on my lap.
I kept on massaging his scalp.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
His eyes were still closed but he replied
"No."
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked him. I know he is disturbed and I do not want to put him in more miseries by asking if he is not ready to talk about it.
He snuggled in my stomach and and held my waist.
"She is a fucking pain in my ass!" He said groaning.
I just chuckled at him.
"I thought you knew what were you getting into." I said to him.
"I know! But then — Ugghh— Nevermind!" He said and got up from my lap.
"Let's leave for lunch. I am hungry." He said changing the topic.
I did not push him further to answer and agreed with him.

We all were having lunch in a nearby restaurant and ofcourse as usual Mihir was busy irritating Veer and Veer was doing the only one thing he is absolutely pro at and that is glaring with such intensity that Mihir would turn into ashes.
Just then our order arrived and the waiter served me. I just looked at my plate and I saw too much tomatoes.
I just made a face seeing that.
I hate tomatoes!
"Still the same brat!" Veer said rolling his eyes at me and shifted his plate a bit towards me so that I could shift my tomatoes to his plate.
I grinned at him and gave him all the tomatoes.
He knows me too well!
"Seems like you guys are already married!" Mihir said and I started coughing vigourously.
Veer panicked and started rubbing my back handing me a glass of water.
"Can't you just shut your mouth & eat?" Veer asked Mihir glaring at him.
"What? He is absolutely right. You guys behave like married couples do." Raghav said teasing and Veer gave him a look which clearly said shut-up-or-you-would-die.
"What if I tell you to choose between your fiance and Avni?" Tanu asked.
And I looked at her shocked.
Where the hell did this come from?
"For what?" Veer asked eating his salad.
" In general, as in your priority. Who will it be? Avni or Trisha?" Tanu asked.
And I just wanted the earth to swallow me.
What kind of a question is this?
He is ofcourse going to choose Tris—
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Veer's voice
"Avni, ofcourse! In a heartbeat." He said casually as if he was talking about something which is very normal.
And I looked at him gobsmacked.
Does he want me to die because of lack of oxygen?
Because after hearing this I definitely can't breathe!
"Close your mouth. You'll catch flies." He said smiling and closed my mouth which was hung low almost hitting the ground.
Tanu was going to talk something when a voice interrupted us
"Veer."
We all turned our heads towards the voice and Veer's whole demeanour changed.
He visibly stiffened.
I looked at the lady. She was in her late fourties maybe. But I feel like I've seen her somewhere.
Wait!
I know her!
"Mom!" Tanu whispered getting up from her chair.
Yeah! She is their biological mother.

I've seen her only in some of the pictures Veer still has saved on his laptop.
I looked at Veer to see him looking at her with absolute blank expression. And that is the worst expression. He can be handled when angry, sad but not when he closes off himself.
"What do you want?" Veer asked surprsingly in a very calm tone. But everyone present there knew that it was the calm before storm.
"I just wanted to talk to you." His mom said and Veer's jaw was set tight. I could see now he was really trying to control and not lash out on her.
"After all these years? Now?" Tanu whispered and she looked at Tanu with tears in her eyes. She was going to touch Tanu's cheek when Tanu moved away from her.
"I suppose we have nothing to talk." Veer said gritting his teeth. He was going to get up from his chair and I held his hand beneath the table.
He looked at me. His fury fading away slowly.
"I just wanted to know if— His mom started but Tanu interrupted her.
"You don't need to know anything. We are very happy with our own happy family."
"And you have no right on us!" Veer said glaring at her.
His hand held my hand in tight grip and I knew he was trying really hard to control his anger. I was caressing his knuckles under the table to calm him dowm.
"Let's leave!" Veer's voice was very sharp and he suddenly stood up still holding my hand.
He made me sit in his car and Mihir was driving Raghav & Tanu.
He was holding my hand continuously while driving the car too.
And it was really disturbing because I know that he wanted to calm down but then
Why me?
I am already having a hard time dealing with my feelings and he is making it more difficult for me!
.
.
.
I just entered Veer's room to hand him the pen drive with Mehra's presentation.
"Veer." I called him.
"In the closet." He asnswered.
"I'll just keep the pen drive beside your laptop." I told and walked towards his laptop.
"Transfer it into my laptop, Avni." He said from the closet.
I opened his laptop and started transferring the presentation when a minimized window on his laptop caught my attention.
I opened it and got the shock of my life.
I was a folder of photos.
Our photos!
A goofy smile made it's way on my face.
But why was it minimized?
Was he watching them?
Why is he so difficult to understand?
"Did you do it?" His voice snapped me back to reality.
"Yeah." I replied again minimising the folder.
I turned around towards him and asked him
"You still have our pictures?"
He smiled softly.
God! He makes me fall in love with him all over again.
"I love watching them. They are like treasure to me." He said still smiling.
Say what?
"Why are you getting married to her?" I asked him.
"Not again!" He groaned.
"No! I need to know it. You want me to calm you down. You need me when you are frustrated. Your treasure are my photos!" I yelled at him frustrated.
"Where does Trisha stand in your life? Why are you doing this to yourself?" I asked him.
"It is none of your business!" He said and turned around.
"Sure as hell it is not my business! Then I suppose If I delete this folder from your laptop, you won't give a fuck about it" I said still yelling at him.
"Avni! Just don't! Don't. Leave me alone." He said giving away no expression.
I had tears in my eyes by now.
I just left his room trying to control my tears.
I entered my room and all the tears started flowing down my cheeks.
I was so engrossed in crying that I didn't notice Tanu sitting on my bed.
She came towards me frantically and asked "What's wrong??"
I hugged her and cried my heart out.
I do not want him to go!
"Avni, come sit first!" She said and made me sit on the couch. She handed me a glass of water and I wiped my tears away.
"You love him, Don't you?" She asked and I just nodded my head.
"I want to rewind the time go back and tell my heart not to fall! But the truth is I cannot not fall for him. Even If I can rewind the time and go back knowing it all, I am sure I will still fall for him over & over!" I said not meeting her eyes.
So I should just get used to this pain!
