《The Beauty And The Heist》Chapter 35

Nobody had the guts to talk to me when we headed back to the DeLuca estate. I was hungry, sleep deprived and downright murderous. Adrian following me was a huge surprise but atleast it played out well. You know, if you ignore the minor detail that I was now part of a fucking Mafia. Or fucking the Mafia. I wouldn't really mind fucking Adrian.
Phase one of Adrian's master plan was complete. I was safe and Roy was a mole. Adrian also told me that Roy was how my name got out, Dylan hadn't been the one to endanger me. Well, he had, but he wasn't the one that sent three Mafia's behind me. Nevertheless, there were many choices a girl has to make in her lifetime. My biggest one was who do I slap first: Adrian or Dylan.
"You know, there's still time to back out," he said.
Adrian. Definitely Adrian.
"I'm not backing out, Adrian." I informed him.
"I'm serious, Chevron. This isn't your fight," he said.
"Yet here I am. Part of the DeLuca Mafia so shut up!"
"You can't tell your Boss to shut up," Adrian smirked.
"I was never one for rules," I reminded him.
He ruffled my hair. We were sitting at his study. Well, I was sitting on his desk and he was in the chair in front of me with his phone. His dark hair was messy and I actually liked it.
"We leave in three hours. Castellino is planning to make a move. You know what you have to do?"
"Not really but yes," I responded.
He studied me for a minute. I knew what he was doing, analysing my expression and body language.
"Are you scared?" He asked softly.
Finally! Someone noticed that bullets, blood and guns is going to scare a twenty year old.
"I'd be lying if I said no. Are you scared?"

"Yes."
"I trust you," I told him.
He sighed. "I know. Don't worry, I won't let anything hurt you. If anyone tries I'll kill them myself."
That was surprisingly sweet, even if he did talk of murdering people. Wow, I was definitely fucked up in the head.
"You're still an ass though," I said.
"I've heard that girls like bad boys," he said with an exaggerated smirk.
I laughed. "Okay, don't try to act like a cheesy bad boy, being Adrian Alessandro DeLuca is bad enough."
I never got how bad boys in teen fiction were considered bad. Hell, I'd probably gotten into trouble more than them.
"My name does sound sexy doesn't it?" He asked, barely restraining his laughter.
"Unfortunately yes," I said and we both burst out laughing. Sometimes it was truly hard to believe super genius, Mafia boss, Adrian DeLuca was my somewhat boyfriend. Out of all the people in the world. What would happen if we got out alive? Would we stay together still? I hoped so. I wasn't planning on letting him go anytime soon.
The door burst open and Damien walked in, flanked by Antonio and Isaac. Adrian and I stopped laughing but his hand remained on my waist.
Antonio looked at me. "Welcome to the family," he intoned.
I nodded slightly.
"Is she coming with us?" Isaac asked.
"Yes." Adrian confirmed.
There was a moment of silence. Adrian could read people and make them act like he wanted. The plan was shaky, but genius nonetheless. I'd expected nothing less from Adrian DeLuca. Was I scared? Yes. But I was never one to back down and I sure as hell wasn't going to do it now that bastardo needed me.
"Here," Isaac said handing over a sleek black phone.
"What's this?"
"A cellphone." No shit.
"It's Adrian's, you're going to need it if they ask. You'll also have a perfect cover story," he elaborated.

"Isaac, sort things out with her, we're going down to the armory," Adrian announced stepping out of the room.
"Okay, so we have Adrian's cellphone, what if they get their hands on it?" I asked.
"Yell Carelia and it will self destruct," he said.
"Okay, thats nice. What if I do it by accident?"
"Then you self destruct with it."
Wasn't that just nice?
"Here's your comms unit," he said handing me a tiny earbud.
I plugged it in my ear and covered it with my hair.
"It will let you speak to us if you're in a two mile radius, but we'll be closer. Oh and one more thing!" He said and handed me a necklace.
"That's ugly," I commented looking at the pattern of the Fleur de Lier.
"Well, you ditched your GPS when you threw the phone away, and we can't have them see the phone."
"Fair point." I nodded.
"Chevie!" Antonio called from outside.
"What does he want?" I demanded.
"How do I know?" Isaac asked.
I clasped the ugly necklace around my neck and walked outside to meet Antonio.
"What?"
He handed me a metallic object. It was a gun. A freaking gun! Never had I thought I would have to kill. In fact I never truly believed it.
"Will I have to kill anyone?" I asked.
"Hopefully no. I'll be around, so I'll...take care of it.." he muttered. I didn't need any subtitles here.
"Where's Adrian?" I asked. I wanted to talk to him. It calmed me down.
"He's with Damien, in the armory. You probably shouldn't go in unless you want to be caught in a crossfire," he said.
"Fine. Where's Carelia?" I asked.
"Downstairs. Go ahead. Wear the weapon first."
The weapon apparently went in a holster at my lower back. So now I had a loaded gun pointed in the general direction of my butt crack. I was going to walk a little more carefully from then on.
"Idiota," Adrian said from the doorway. I turned to look at him.
"Asshole," I acknowledged him.
"Ready?"
"Not at all!" I said cheerfully.
"Great. Don't worry, I'll get you back," he whispered. I pulled him closer by the lapels of his leather jacket and kissed him like the world depended on it.
"Ahem" Damien coughed.
I flipped him the finger and kissed Adrian again. It felt good, being close to him felt so good.
"Boss?" Isaac called.
"What?" Adrian asked.
"How are we going to navigate the maze?" He asked. "I trust you but..."
I cleared my throat.
"That's because Chevron is one conniving bitch," Adrian said almost proudly. Makes sense, only a notorious Mafia Boss would use bitch as a positive attribute. "When we lost her, I thought she ditched the phone. You did didn't you?"
I nodded. He knew. Obviously. He somehow knew everything.
"She took out the micro GPS from the phone and put it on Castellino," Adrian finished. "He's going to navigate the maze for us."
Isaac looked at me.
"I slid it into his bandages, from that nasty burn he had, he can't change them regularly and they looked fresh." I answered. "How did you know?"
Adrian shrugged. "Something about that self satisfied smirk. I know you."
"You two really shouldn't date, one Adrian is bad enough how are we supposed to handle Adrian plus Chevron?" Damien demanded.
"Not our problem," Adrian answered with that gorgeous smile as we marched down the stairs and into the car.
