《The Beauty And The Heist》Chapter 37

I typed in the password to unlock Adrian's phone and opened the IDE on the main computer. Dylan was still screaming outside, but hopefully things will settle down soon.
Adrian was a crazy genius, but a genius all the same.
He wanted Castellino to have the password so that he could access the safe. Without the password, he wouldn't even have tried. He wasn't suicidal, Adrian wanted him to go, he wanted him to reach the safe and lead him there.
Only he was never going to get in.
Roy had mentioned the biometrics and that complicated the situation. The safe could only be opened by Dylan's adoptive father and that was what was going to happen.
"Lets see, where are you," I murmured to myself as I browsed through the phone for the bug Isaac had installed.
I installed the bug onto the computer, giving Isaac full access to the security system.
I quickly typed in another message.
I held my breath.
Great.
I typed in the code to break past the firewall, it wasn't exactly tough with Isaac on my side. Within minutes the screen lit up with a hundred different tiny windows. The camera feeds.
I waited for what seemed like hours and nothing happened, there was no activity outside, Dylan had run off somewhere. Either way, I had locked the door shut. I wouldn't go out till Adrian told me to, surprisingly, this time I felt obligated to listen.
What would happen of Adrian and I after this was behind us? Did he love me? Did I love him?
Yes, I think I did. I wouldn't be risking my life on multiple occasions for someone else. I wanted him to win, I wanted him to be happy. Even if I had to walk away after this, I could do it if he was happy. I think.
I imagined him with the girl from the picture I had seen in the plane. God, was I jealous. But the smile on his face...
Yes, I could leave him if that made him happy. That had to be love, didn't it?
I didn't fully understand the extent of our relationship, did he feel the same way. Ugh! I was acting so stereotypically lovestruck, it was nauseating.
I decided to focus on the cameras, they were easier to figure out than my love life.
Zooming in on a darker area of the screen, I noticed that it was indeed, an underground tunnel. Several similar screens dotted the corner, the labyrinth must have been huge. The bricks looked old and worn and ivy creeped up the walls, somehow growing even in the absence of sunlight. Genetically altered.

I fired off a quick text to Adrian.
I watched as a team of seven men appeared on one of the screens. One of them was wrapped in heavy white bandages.
Well, hello there. Bitch.
"Castellino's in," I murmured. Somehow talking to myself calmed me. We were so close.
Another screen lit up with the image of a man in a pinstriped blue suit. Dylan. He was walking behind another man who I assumed to be his father. Was the tunnel bugged? It had to be, they'd done so much about security, they couldn't have forgotten to bug the tunnel.
Now the two rival Mafias were in the tunnels together.
Adrian, please be careful.
Adrian knew that Castellino's first instinct would be to confirm Adrian's hint and see if the blueprints were there. He had to open the safe for that, and while we couldn't recreate the image of his eyes or his DNA, I could store the data from the system and feed it to the system again. Sort of as a loop. With me inside the security system and the one and only Isaac Hale by my side, it was not going to be too tough.
I watched as Dylan's father, the Abandonato boss walked up to the safe.
The screen lit up again with a system of data as Isaac stored the information onto the security database. Soon every single detail that he'd input into the system was permanently stored in the database.
I nearly jumped out my seat with glee. Another part of the plan successfully completed.
Uh oh.
I looked up at the screen and watched as Abandonato lost his cool and started yelling.
Isaac came through yet again.
"Because either DeLuca or his whore lied!" His father yelled. Now that the bugs were activated, I could hear everything.
Dylan looked near tears.
"But why would they lie?!" Dylan screamed desperately.
Uh oh. If they realized that they'd actually given us the data we needed to bypass the biometrics, we were fucked.
Fortunately, Adrian thought of that too.
Conniving bastard.
I downloaded the clip of Castellino and his men walking across the tunnels. I knew Dylan's number from memory, so I sent him the clip and watched with some twisted amusement as Dylan checked his phone and his face paled.
Perfect.
Now go find Castellino so you don't notice Adrian.
"We need to go find Castellino," he said.
Dylan nodded.
"Who sent you the clip?" He asked again.
Crap. Crap. Crap. Shit. Fuck.
Dylan gritted his teeth. "Unknown number."
Huh? Why was Dylan lying to his father? He knew my number.

"Let's look into this later, let's go find Castellino." He added, which left me more confused than ever.
Abandoned walked ahead while Dylan lingered behind.
"Chevron, it's too late isn't it? Adrian is here." He whispered. My breath caught in my throat. I'd never seen him cry and despite the poor image quality, I could see the glimmer of a tear on his cheek.
You're an asshole, but you're not going to get hurt. Even though you probably deserve it.
The Abandonato men were closing on the Castellino's. I held my breath in anticipation. The first shot took me by surprise. One of Castellino's men fell to the ground in a pool of blood.
Blood. Just like the time Adrian and I were taken.
I didn't want to hear this. The sound disappeared with a crackling noise as Isaac deactivated the bugs. I didn't even want to see this.
I looked up at the phone. Damien.
I winced. No, calm down. Adrian needs you now. With shaking fingers, I input the information the biometrics asked for. The one I had saved onto the computer only minutes back.
I looked at the camera. Adrian. He was there. In his leather jacket with Antonio and Damien by his side. I blew out a breath. He owed me so damn much. All of them were armed to the teeth. Was that an Uzi? Yep. Adrian was carrying an Uzi. I was going to shoot him with that Uzi when we got out.
I crossed my fingers as the machine analyzed the data. Sure enough it was accepted and the safe opened. Adrian looked up at the camera and smirked. Bastard. But I couldn't help smiling back, even if he couldn't see me.
The trio walked into the safe. There were no cameras there so I wanted with bated breath. I was tempted to fire off another text but decided against it. No distractions.
So I texted Isaac instead.
The phone started ringing. What? We'd agreed on no calling because texts were silent and safe.
The caller ID said Adrian. Oh shit.
"Adrian? Something wrong?" I asked him.
"Relax, Chevron. I'm fine, everyone is fine. We got the blueprints. I want to to check if the tunnel is clear."
"Whats if it's not?"
"Then we clear it" he said.
"What?"
"Why do you think we brought the guns? For a peace offering?" He asked sarcastically.
"Gentle reminder. I'm the one with the control."
"Got it, idiota."
I quickly scanned the camera. The bodies were heaped together in a pile of blood. But that wasn't what made my blood run cold.
"Adrian," I whispered. "Castellino isn't there."
There was a loud knock on the door behind me.
"Chevron? What-"
"Hurry up, Adrian." I whispered and cut the call.
The lock clanged. Shit. Shit. Shit.
The door burst open to reveal a very pissed off Mafia Boss with Dylan standing behind him. Okay, he was so dying.
He strolled into the room, past me and yanked the phone. From where I had connected it to the laptop. The next thing I knew was that I was sent flying into the table.
A sharp burst of pain erupted on the back of my skull. I touched it gently. My fingers came bloody. The metallic Tang of blood filled my mouth, I'd probably bitten my tongue.
"DeLuca whore!" He snarled, raising a gun to my face. He wasn't bluffing, he was going to shoot. "You fucking bitch! You think he'll save you?! You're dead!"
Black crawled at the edge of my vision. I was going to pass out soon from the blow.
Think fast Chevron!
"Carelia!" I yelled.
Dylan looked confused and Abandonato raised an eyebrow. I smiled, showing him my bloodstained teeth as the phone he was holding self destructed.
The phone burst with a loud pop. His sleeve caught fire. It wouldn't burn him like Castellino, but it brought me time. I shot past him and ran into the hallway. Someone delivered a kick to my ribs and a sickening crunch resonated through the hallway. I looked up to see Dylan.
"You bitch," he spat. "Did you think-?"
Bang!
Two gunshots followed in rapid succession. Dylan fell to the ground cradling his leg. Abandonato lay in a pool of blood on the white floor.
Something touched my shoulder and I flinched.
"Chevie, its me." He whispered. Adrian. Thank God. I stayed still as the pain ebbed.
"I'm going to lift you up okay?" He asked.
"Hurt," I whispered.
"I know," he whispered. "I'm so sorry."
Sharp rocket bursts of pain ran through my body as he lifted me up. Fracture, there was definately a fracture somewhere.
"Don't close your eyes, not this time. Please!" He whispered.
Was he crying?
How badly was I even hurt? I felt lightheaded, on the verge of losing consciousness.
But this was Adrian, so I stayed. I held on to consciousness from a thin thread as Adrian ran past the corridors and out of the estate.
He had the blueprints. This was over.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.

The Fate Eater
What might a man really do if he found himself reincarnated into a fantasy world as a dragon prince? How would he come to terms with his new nature, his larger-than-life family, the agendas of warring factions, and the destiny he never asked for? This is a story that intends to defy some isekai tropes, but play into others. It's mainly about exploring a rich hand-crafted world, full of its own history and mysteries. Its characters have their own lives and aspirations, and our protagonist is but a piece of the greater tapestry. This story is not about right and wrong, or good and evil. It's about a dragon-man being tested by fate, power, and time. It's about what it's like to live as an outsider who lost their home. But perhaps the most central theme is freedom. What does freedom really mean? What will it cost and how much might one be willing to pay for it? Does it even truly exist? Let's find out together.

The watcher of universe and stuff.
The most devastating thing to an eternal being must be boredom. If nothing can change you, how can you yourself change? Sometimes you have to learn that the hard way. I should point out that there are multiple lead characters and they will all have their own personalities and motivations. While the story will focus more on our MC Trey, you can expect multiple POV switches. If you do not like POV switches, this might not be for you. My first book. If anyone will ever read this, be so kind as to leave a comment. Even, if all you say is an insult. As long as I can improve this work by your comment, it's all fine. One thing’s for sure. I will keep writing as if my reader can handle curse words without curling into a little ball and repeatedly saying: "Leave my safe-space alone, you monster". Therefore, you can expect some profanity.

That Scottish Play
This is a very silly and cringey parody of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The play format will be kept consistent throughout. Unless you enjoy cringing so hard you experience physical pain, I'd suggest avoiding this work. However, as the level of cringe is only slightly less than that of the office, any fans of that show may enjoy this work. (I believe, as a parody, this work is protected from copyright by fair use, additionally, Shakespeare is in the public domain so it doesn't fall under copyright in the first place. If I'm wrong please let me know)
