"Meher, are you alright?" Shivam asked, running towards us, with a few players behind him.
I turned my attention back at Meher, and she was still staring at me.
I got off her, before pulling her up beside me.
"Are you guys fine?" Kamlesh asked the two of us.
"Uh.. y-yeah." I stammered, before looking at Meher, who still looked shocked.
Before I could talk to her, Nitish beat me to it.
"I'm so sorry Meher, I didn't know you were standing here. I just hit that shot, and then realised you were here." Nitish stated.
"It-It's fine. Chill." She said, tucking her hair behind her ear, as I looked at her intently.
"She still needs time to process it. Shivam carry her camera bag, and you, come with me." DK told Meher, as he put his arm around her shoulder, before they walked ahead.
While I was still staring at her, Meher turned back to look at me. We locked our eyes for a few seconds, before she turned her head around again.
"You okay?" Kamlesh asked, from beside me.
I turned to look at him, before saying "That was... weird."
"What do you mean?" He asked.
Instead of answering, I just shook my head slightly.
That indeed was weird.
Meher's POV-
That was weird. Very weird.
DK and Shivam walked me to the car, before bidding goodbye.
As soon as I sat in the car, I touched my back. A patch of blood had formed on my fingers.
I knew I hurt myself the minute I fell on the ground.
I'm not sure if it's glass or a metal spike, but I can definitely feel something sticking to my skin.
I couldn't even tell anyone that I had hurt my back, and wearing a black top today wasn't of any help too.

As soon as I reached the hotel, I rushed towards my room. Thankfully, Sidiksha was back early.
"I need your help." I stated, pulling her towards the bed.
I turned around and lifted my top, and that's when she hissed.
"Meher, what did you do? There's a freaking metal spike sticking out of your back." She said, observing it carefully.
"Wait, I'll get the first aid kit." She added, rushing to get the kit.
Sidiksha asked me to take off my top and lay on the bed, and I did so.
She carefully pulled the metal spike out with the help of a scissor.
I screamed out in pain and asked her to stop.
"Meher, it's nearly out. It'll take a few seconds more." She assured me.
She pulled out the metal spike completely, before keeping it on a tissue paper, as I screamed out in pain.
Sidiksha cleaned up and applied an ointment on my back.
"Let it stay like this for a couple of minutes, and then I'll wrap it up. Change into a crop top or something for now." She said.
I said an okay, before slowly getting off the bed.
"I'm going to the cafè on our floor, you want anything?" She asked me.
"Coffee please."
"Getting it right away." She smiled, before walking out of the door.
Not going to lie, but I would've rather got hit by the ball than having a metal spike in my back.
I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a red crop top. A few seconds after I had pulled my crop top below my head, the door flew open.
"Meher, what happened to you?" Kamlesh questioned, barging into the room.
"Nothing." I lied.
"Turn around." He ordered, standing a few metres away from me.

"It's noth-"
"Turn around." He said again, cutting my sentence off.
I sighed and turned around.
He hissed looking at my back.
"Shit man, that might've hurt a lot." He stated.
I turned around, before saying, "Tell me about it."
"Why didn't you tell us back there?" He questioned.
"I didn't know how to tell you guys. I mean, if I did, I'd get so much of attention, and I didn't want that." I sighed.
"But baba, that doesn't mean you hide it na."
Kamlesh walked forward before carefully looking at the hurt.
"Uhh." He said, shaking his head.
"Are you okay now?" He questioned.
"I'm fine. It's just that when someone touches it, or when I stretch it hurts." I told him.
"Will you be able to come tonight?" He asked me.
"I can, I guess. I mean, it's not that bad for me to skip the match." I stated.
"Well okay, if you say so."
I smiled at him, before asking, "How did you get to know though?"
"I was walking to my suite when I met your cousin on the way, and she asked me how you ended up having a metal spike in your back. I was so confused, because I didn't know you hurt yourself this bad, right? So, then I asked her to explain and that's when she told me about your back." Kamlesh explained.
"Oh okay." I nodded.
"Rest for the moment, and I'll be here at 5:45 sharp, okay?"
"DK said that he would come to get me." I informed him.
"Shut up, I'll speak to DK." He smiled, smacking my head, before walking towards the door.
"5:45 sharp." He reminded me.
"Yes boss!"
