After Meher left, Kamlesh just stared at me.
"Can you stop staring at me?" I questioned.
"Can you stop writing on Meher's notepad and asking me to cover-up for you?"
"Look, I didn't want her to know it was me."
"Well, I realised!"
"What were you even thinking?" He questioned.
"I don't know!"
"Shubman." Kamlesh stated, sighing to himself.
"You like Meher, don't you?" He asked, as a small smile played on his lips.
"I do not." I lied.
"Stop lying, Shubman. It's so clear that you like her."
"Look, if you want, I can go talk to her about this." He offered.
"No no, you don't have to do this." I stated.
I took a deep breath before saying, "Yeah, I do like her, but I cannot be selfish enough to steal her from you."
I don't know why but Kamlesh had a confusing look on his face.
"You do not need to act anymore, I know about you guys. It was kind of obvious the way you two were behaving. You keeping a hand on her back, and remember the day I knocked on Meher's room but then I said it was a confusion and I knocked on the wrong door? Well, I had come to confess my feelings to Meher. But then, you opened the door, and you were shirtless, and, I also saw Meher walking around in the room wearing your tshirt." I ended, shrugging my shoulders.
Kamlesh had a horrified expression on his face.
"Chill chill, I won't tell this to anyone." I assured him.
"No, no, no, no, no! You've got this all wrong. Listen to m-"
"Kamlesh, chill. I'm telling you, I will not tell this to anyone. Trust me." I smiled.

"But Shubman-"
This time he was interrupted by my phone.
"Mom's call. I'll see you later." I said, before quickly answering the call and walking back to my room.
*
While I was sitting on the couch of my room, looking at the notepad, Kamlesh entered.
"Look, you need to know something!" He exclaimed, running towards me.
"This is Shubman's handwriting, isn't it?" I asked him.
"How did you know that?" He questioned back.
"I know his handwriting. I just wanted him to tell me that it was him who wrote it down." I shrugged.
"Look, I need to tell you something." He said.
"Wasn't that about it?" I asked.
"No, no! Now, shut up and listen to me." He stated.
I nodded and asked to continue.
"Shubman thinks that we're dating-"
"WHAT?" I shouted.
"Meher, can you please let me complete?" Kamlesh sternly stated.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry."
"Okay, so getting back, he thinks we're dating because he has seen me keeping my hand on your back and stuff. Also, remember the other day Shubman knocked on the door but then he said that it was some confusion?"
"Yeah." I stated, nodding my head.
"Well, it wasn't a confusion. He came here to confess his feelings for you, but then I opened the door, and I was shirtless! He also saw you roaming around in the room wearing my tshirt. So, this is it!"
"Oh my god." I breathed out, running my fingers through my hair.
"He has got it all wrong." I said.
"Exactly! When I tried to tell him, he cut me of saying he wouldn't tell anyone, but then I tried again.... his mom called and I couldn't." Kamlesh sighed.
For a couple of minutes there was nothing but pin drop silence.

"So, Shubman likes me?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"He does." Kamlesh smiled.
This caused a smile on my face.
"Meher, stop smiling." He scolded.
"You've already wasted so much of time! Just go tell him about how you feel for him and how the things he has been assuming is all wrong. Just go." Kamlesh said, dragging me up from the couch and literally throwing me out of the room.
While I was walking towards Shubman's room, which was like thirty seconds away from mine, the only thing I was thinking was how would I confess. I've never done it, and I don't want to say it, but yes, I'm a chicken when it comes to such things.
I stood outside Shubman's room not knowing what to do.
Taking a deep breath, I brought my knuckles to the door, but pulled back immediately.
What am I even scared of?
Listen Meher, Shubman likes you too. He wouldn't have taken the difficulty of coming to your room and writing on your notepad if that wasn't the case.
Just stop being a chicken and knock!
I took another deep breath and brought my knuckles to the door, but yet again pulled back.
Ugh! Meher!
You know what, you're just going to die single.
Okay, wait, let's do it again.
Slowly, I brought my knuckles to the door, but didn't knock. I held it steady in the air.
"Meher, knock." Said my mind.
"I'm trying, but my hand isn't reaching." I mumbled.
"All you have to do is extend your hand a little bit." My mind spoke again.
"I know, and I'm trying, but it's not happening." I sighed.
Out of nowhere, Kamlesh caught my hand and knocked on the door.
"Oh, well, look! You knocked on the door." He stated, giving me a sarcastic smile, before running back to my room.
"Wai-"
"Meher?"
"Shu- Shubman." I stuttered.

I'm really sorry for the short chapter, but the book is about to end, and if I write long chapters, then the book won't have enough chapters.
Anyway, don't forget to vote. 💕
