Several months later
Carrie's pov
Today is gonna be the best day ever. We get to meet Mike's little sister Janet. She's a missionary, just like their parents, so she travels all the time. We're so excited to hear what Mike was like when he was a kid. We're meeting her at a restaurant near her hotel so we can all have dinner together.
"I want you all to be on your best behavior tonight. I mean it. No foul language, no inappropriate questions, and no tantrums," Mike warns.
Shane echoes, "Best behavior, ladies. Got it?"
"Actually, I was talking to you," Mike says, looking directly at Shane.
"Hey, no fair. I haven't had a tantrum in at least a week. Plus, what am I supposed to talk to your sister about if I can't ask her inappropriate questions or curse at her? You're really restricting the topics of conversation, man." Shane slaps Mike on the back and laughs. "Relax, Mike, we promise to behave ourselves. You have nothing to worry about." Shane turns and winks at us girls. "Right, ladies?"
"Yeah, Mike, don't sweat it. Your sister already knows how mean you are. We don't have to tell her." Stacey grins mischievously.
"Hey, everybody stop giving Mike a hard time," I say sympathetically, as I walk up next to him. Mike puts his arm around my shoulders and pulls me close before kissing the top of my head.
"Thank you, Carrie. At least I can count on you for support."
At the restaurant
Lisa's pov
Mike's sister is so great. She's been telling us tons of embarrassing stories about Mike when he was a kid. Even though there are nine years between them in age, they were really close growing up. Mike took care of Janet when they were in school and their parents were traveling as missionaries.

"Was Mike this bossy when you were growing up, Janet, or did he develop this lovely personality trait later in life?" I ask, jokingly of course. I'm sure Mike was born with a bossy gene.
"Very funny, Lisa," Mike says, somewhat embarrassed by my query. "Don't answer that, Janet."
"Oh no, I want to. I would love for the girls to know how you constantly told me what to do and tried to control every aspect of my life."
"Hey, you better watch yourself, missy. You're not too old to be taken over my knee," Mike warns.
"Mike used to spank you?" I ask, in disbelief.
"Only once, Lisa," Janet replies. "Our dad made sure he never did it again."
"Ooh, storytime!" I say excitedly.
"Don't you dare, Janet! I mean it. That story is not kid appropriate," Mike threatens his baby sister.
"Come on, Janet, spill the tea please," Julie begs.
"Unfortunately, Mike's right. That story's rated PG-13. Anyway, let's just say as bad as I got it from Mike, he got it much worse from our dad when I tattled on him."
Mike's cheeks flush with embarrassment remembering that night.
"You were a handful then, Janet, and clearly you haven't changed a bit."
Janet sticks her tongue out at Mike. He winks at her before excusing himself from the table to use the restroom.
"You sure you can't tell us that story, Janet?" Stacey asks, hoping she'll dish now that Mike's not in the room.
"Sorry, girls. When you're older, I promise." Janet and Shane exchange a knowing look.
After dinner, we say our goodbyes to Janet. Unfortunately, she has a very early flight to Papua New Guinea tomorrow so she can't stay longer.
After hugging and kissing his sister goodbye, Mike gets behind the wheel and turns to the four of us while we wait for Shane to pay the bill.

"So, what did you think of my baby sister?" he asks.
"Janet's great," I say.
"Yeah, we really like her," Carrie says.
"And we know Shane likes her," Julie says, elbowing Stacey and smiling.
"What do you mean?" Mike asks, unsure of how he wants to interpret Julie's comment.
"She means, cuz they kept kissing whenever you weren't in the room," I say, matter of factly.
Mike spits out the mouthful of ice tea he just took from his to go cup.
"THEY KISSED!?" he shouts in disbelief.
"Geez, Mike, we asked for the news, not the weather," I say, in response to his tea spewing.
"WHEN DID THEY KISS?" Mike is still in shock.
"Well, there was the time you went to the bathroom," Julie says.
"And when you were parking the car," Carrie adds.
"Oh, and when they both went to the washroom at the same time," Stacey chimes in.
"Was that before or after Janet gave Shane the key to her hotel room?" Carrie asks.
"Okay, okay, that's enough." Mike's still trying to wrap his head around this news. "I don't want to hear anymore."
Shane gets in the passenger seat, unaware of what's causing the awkward tension in the car.
"What's the matter? What's goin' on? What did I miss?" Shane asks, in response to Mike's angry scowl.
"YOU KISSED MY SISTER!" Mike shouts. "How could you, Shane?"
"You told him?" Shane glares at the four of us. "Look, we didn't mean for it to happen, Mike, it just kinda did," Shane offers apologetically. "I'm really sorry, Mike. I didn't think you'd find out."
"Oh, and that's supposed to make it okay? Because you didn't think I'd find out?" Mike is furious.
"Hey, what's the date today?" Stacey interrupts.
"Stacey, we're in the middle of a conversation here. Don't interrupt." Mike's clearly annoyed.
"It's the first, Stacey," Carrie replies.
"IT'S APRIL FOOL'S DAY, MIKE!" We all shout in unison, as we laugh at the joke we just played on Mike.
"You were all in on this?" Mike turns and looks at the four of us. We all nod and smile. "So you didn't kiss my sister?" Mike asks, looking at Shane.
"No, man. You're like a brother to me. I would never hit on your sister."
"Oh, thank God. By the way, I hate you all. I hope you know that," Mike says, pretending to pout as we continue to laugh.
"Awww, but we love you Mike," we all say together.
