《1984》Chpt. 41

As I walk up to the nightclub for the thousandth time I can hear the reverberation from the base outside the building. To be honest, once the 80s hit, club music got a hell of a lot better. Disco music was nice, but all the jingles and loud singing gave me a headache after a while.

I walk up to the bouncer and he recognizes me as having a VIP, so he lets me in in front of the whole line which was wrapped around nearly two sides of the place. This, of course, infuriated a lot of people, but I didn't bat an eye and just minded my own business.

Upon entering, everything cleared. I can hear all the people, music and base clearly now. I keep walking, but I can't help but smirk at how much the base is vibrating through my body.

I see a ship in the harbor

I can and shall obey

I walk up the stairs to the second floor, bypassing the whole crowd.

But if it wasn't for your misfortune

I'd be a heavenly person today

I reach the top step and walk out onto the second story which is much less dense that the first.

And I thought I was mistaken

And I thought I heard you speak

Tell me, how do I feel?

Tell me, how should I feel?

There are people sitting at tables with food and drinks, having a good time. A little yonder, there's a hibachi grill shaped with people seated in high chairs surrounding it and chefs cooking in the middle.

Now I stand here waiting

Walking around, there are shirtless waiters wearing leather harnesses and waitresses in short skirts and crop tops serving food and drinks with a smile.

I thought I told you to leave me

While I walked down to the beach

Tell me, how does it feel

I make my way over to the bar.

When your heart grows cold?

grows cold...

((grows cold...........))

I sit up at the bar and order a drink. Someone sits down next to me to my left and I look over. A guy, mid twenties. Blond hair, pretty face. Even though his looks are captivating, they're not what bewitches me. It's his eyes. Colder than Chicago in winter and brighter than even the neon that lights up this place. They're beautiful.

He smiles and takes the lead. "Hi. I see you here a lot."

"Y-yeah.." I'm still so lost in his eyes...

He chuckles softly. "What's your name?"

I blink a few times, returning to my senses. "Sai. You?"

"My name is Lance."

In that moment, my order slid over to my spot.

"Let's have a few drinks, shall we, Sai?"
