《1984》Chpt. 49

Our bento boxes were in a square shape rather than a rectangle. I guess to have fewer compartments. Either way, the biggest square was in the top-left corner and took up a little over a quarter of the whole box. Inside, there were two rice balls that had been set on top of soy sauce, the sauce seeping into the white, steamed rice. Whisps of steam rose from the balls up to my nostrils, smelling the delicious rice.

Below the main square was a much smaller square on the bottom left corner that was a little less than half the size of the main square. There were ramen noodles in that one. No water. Just noodles. It was probably meant to be a side dish or something, but I could smell the spices in it from where I sat.

In the top right corner, next to the main square, was a square the same size as the last described square. In it, was a bunch of berries. Strawberries, blueberries, and black berries. No, they weren't steaming as well, but they did look quite delicious. In fact, they did have a little condensation on them.

The last section took up the rest of the box and had an "L" shape that curled around the main compartment and dead ended at the two smaller ones at either end of it. In that one, there was a row of bunny eared apples and oranges set on pieces of lettuce. Like the berries, they, too had great color and a little condensation on them.

It all as a whole looked very delicious. ..I daren't ever tell him, but.. Osamu's cooking seemed to rival Lance's...

Osamu sat my small wine glass of blood next to my box on my right.

I blinked at it and then twisted my head to look at Osamu who was behind me. "Thank you."

Osamu smiled wide and pet my head. "Of course, sweetheart." he said and sat down my chopsticks, too before going back to his seat.

..My eyes wandered over to my glass. Even though the last time I had fed was only a few days ago and I didn't feel too hungry, I definitely wouldn't mind a little snack...

I reached out to my glass and pulled it near myself, peering down at my feast. I swirled the glass in a slow circle like you would wine, still watching it. ..It was indeed some very dark blood. I was seriously curious where Lance got it...

I lifted my other hand and shallowly dipped my other finger into the darkened blob. The blood on the tip of my index finger was actually a little but brighter red.

..Maybe it was the blood being so condensed in the small glass...

My eyes fluttered shut as I closed my lips around my blood soaked finger. My tongue lapped up the blood and oh my god, it was so~ delicious. It was so rich with iron that it nearly put me into ecstasy whatever right there where I sat. My lips curled into a small smile around my finger as I let out a small hum in satisfaction.
