《Rosa Perri Gilbert》Chapter 11

Kol woke up to a pillow thrown at his face. He looked in front of him to see Perri laying on her side watching him.
"Finally, you're up," she said, her voice course from the night before.
"How long have you been trying to wake me?"
Perri sat up and lent against the headboard, "I dunno, about like 30 seconds." Kol chuckled at Perri's impatience.
"Kol?" Perri asked softly, Kol hummed to let her know he was listening, "Last night Finn, said something about how it would be bad if I was turned before I 'matured.' What did he mean by that?"
Kol sighed, "How about you take a shower and get dressed, I'll have Bekah lay out clothes for you. When you're done come downstairs. We have a lot to discuss."
With that he got up and left, closing the door behind him. Leaving Perri confused but also a little intrigued.
About 45 minutes later Perri made her way down the stairs. She was wearing an oversized long-sleeve shirt and nike leggings. She was thankful Bekah didn't grab anything preppy, she wasn't in the mood to want to look nice.
Once she got into the loving room, Perri saw the four remaining Mikaelson siblings. Rebekah got up and pulled Perri into a much needed hug.
"So are you guys gonna tell me what this is about? Or can I go to the studio?" Perri asked not liking the tense silence.
"Perri come sit down," Elijah said, once she awkwardly sat down Elijah continued, "There is a type of witch, very rare, and unimaginably powerful. But they are only born every few hundred years. And they don't have to be related to a witch, they are simply... chosen."
"And why are you telling me this?" Perri asked skeptically, not really wanting the answer.

"Well, because Perri, you are that witch," Nik said, "more commonly known as an elemental."
Perri sat there for a moment before she said anything. Her eyebrows furrowed, "So... you're telling me, that basically I'm like the Avatar?"
"If you're referring to the children's cartoon, then, yes," Nik answered, "Two more things, you're full powers won't reveal themselves until you have matured, which is your 18th birthday."
"And that is also the day you turn immortal," Kol said, "You'll have the speed, strength, hearing, and sight of a vampire but without the need for blood, and no fangs."
"Who else is an, elemental?" Perri asked.
"As of now you are the only one," Elijah said, Perri gave him a confused look, "The first elemental was born some 2,000 years or so ago. He was believed to be dangerous. So before he matured, several covens of witches joined together and destroyed him."
"And every time one is born, the new generations of those witches seek out the new elemental and kill them," Nik said.
"Okay if you're right abut me being an 'elemental' then do I have a group of witches coming to destroy me?" Perri asked.
"We are right. And no, there isn't," Nik answered, "At some point in your early life someone must have cast a spell to hide you from anyone that wished to cause you harm."
"Of course the spell will break the day you turn 18," Kol added, he looked at Perri worriedly, "are you alright? You seem to be taking this remarkably well."
"Oh yeah, no. I'm freaking the fuck out on the inside," Perri said letting out a stressed chuckle, "How do you know it's me? Maybe you did make a mistake. I'm mean me? Seriously? A 'powerful' witch? No way! I'm just a dancer, and that's my purpose in life! Not to become some immortal Avatar!" Perri was breathing very heavily and now she was freaking out on the outside, too.

Nik picked up the glass of water, which was on the table in front Perri, "This was ice cold before you came down. Hold it." He said handing her the cup.
As soon as she grabbed it, Perri immediately let go, Nik caught it before it shattered, "Ow," she said looking at her now red hand, "It's burning hot, what'd you do to it?"
"I did nothing, that was all you, love," Nik smiled.
"But I thought my 'powers' didn't show until I'm 18?" she asked, not taking her eyes off of the glass.
"Well as you get closer to that day, your powers will sometimes 'act up' when you feel strongly about something," Kol said, "you'll have to be careful and try to keep your emotions in check."
"Okay well with all of that out of the way can I have breakfast?" Perri asked, wanting to distract herself with food, which usually always helps.
Kol chuckled, "Of course darling, lets go," he led Perri into the kitchen and she quickly took a seat at the breakfast bar.
While Kol was cooking, (all he was doing was preparing cereal) Perri's phone went off signaling a text.
Within seconds Elena's name came up again but this time indicating a phone call. Perri thought to herself, 'To answer or not to answer.'
After several rings Perri answered Elena,
At this, Kol stopped what he was doing and looked at Perri with a panicked expression. He knew Nik wanted to keep this quite, which meant it was not to leave the Mikaelson (and Perri) family. If this information fell into the wrong hands she could be in so much danger.
Nik, Elijah and Bekah had walked into the kitchen, "Who's Perri on the phone with?" Bekah asked.
"Elena," Kol whispered, "And she knows about Perri's abilities." Nik ran to the blonde and hung up on Elena as Perri was in the middle of lying about how she isn't a witch.
"Why'd you do that?" Perri asked trying to reach for her phone, but Nik kept it away from her.
"How does she know?"
"She said Bonnie told her," Perri answered, realizing she probably wasn't about to get her phone back anytime soon, "Why? Is that bad?"
"Honestly, yes. If they tell anyone you're the elemental, soon you're going to have a lot of witches coming to find and destroy you," Nik said not at all sugar coating it.
"Oh... well that's not good."

To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

Any resemblance between anything in this novel and the plane of reality we live in is purely coincidental. Was that a bit over the top and a wee bit unnecessary? Maybe. 2) This story features an antihero with a slight hint of villainy. So, sooner or later, it’s going to get dark. Very dark. Hence all the tags.
